We also had a sesame croissant, pretty pink donuts, and a crumble bar too. We were all supper satisfied! The cake was moist and filled with alcohol soaked cherries. The pretzel was perfectly salted and the croissant was glistening with butter, fluffy and flaky. We also grabbed some of their incredible breads and donuts for the road. They did not disappoint either. The espresso, which complimented the goods perfectly was strong and delish. The fresh apple tea iced was incredible and memorable!! I would love to know how to recreate it at home. It was so naturally sweet even unsweetened and felt like it should be served warm on a fall day, but was perfect and refreshing, served iced on a hot summer day. There's tons of towering Sammie's, parfaits, fruit cups and salads. Honestly, such a variety. I loved the jam and bread cutting station! I didn't even have time to sit and eat (though it looked like a cozy German cafe), but I ordered the cake to go and brought it back to my hotel room for a post 17,000-step day treat...and it was worth it! A tasty treat (especially the chantilly cream), but I don't know if I can quite say it's the best. Service was a little slow (particularly frustrating when I'd been waiting a few minutes with no acknowledgement and then a couple that came in after me were served first), but I know that's the nature of customer service sometimes.

Nothing was overly sweet either nor did anything feel heavy surprisingly. We met up with a friend who is born and raised in Freiburg and resides there as well-she says this is one of the best cafes/bakeries!
