After seeing this place on the travel channel as so popular and famous on the boardwalk in Jersey was disappointed to see the ingredients were full of chemicals and preservatives. To make fudge taste great the ingredients need to be simple. This fudge was way too sweet and tasted gross and had to throw away the box as I couldn't handle another bite. read more

The Ocean City location has a large variety of fudge. It's difficult to choose my favorite, however, I did return to buy a 3-bar box of all coconut fudge for my sister. And, I purchased a 12-bar box to take as a covered dish for a gathering of friends! Delicious!!! read more

The fudge here is fine but what I really come here for are the chocolate covered pretzels! The chocolate coating is smooth and the ratio of chocolate to pretzel is perfection! If you're here on a warm summer day, fudge may not be the first thing on your mind but if this is your first time, or you like fudge, you might want to check this place out. Fudge here is decent, service can be a bit slow but yeah, if you like fudge, then you won't have any complaints. Definitely not for everyone as it's extremely sweet. The product they sell here is fine, it's the service, or lack there of. I visited this location on 2/11 and I found that they could care less about their customers. The person behind the counter was so non attentive. I asked him a question and he answered without looking up; very un customer friendly. He cut 2 pounds of fudge for me in 2 separate boxes and left them behind the counter until I completed my order. I ordered a few small items and then gave him my credit card. When I got home I noticed he only placed one of the boxes of fudge in the bag. I should have double checked but I see the person selling it to me to be accountable as well. I tried calling them the next day, the following day and today and the voicemail is full. Perhaps other unhappy customers are leaving messages or again the staff is non-attentive. I wrote an email on Sunday and never received a response. With so many other choices on the Ocean City boardwalk, I think Steele's Fudge will be my last choice. read more

The fudge was fine. Just fine, but it was also so sugary after a few bites I felt sick. I got a chocolate caramel one that didnt seem to have much caramel. I didn't think the fudge was THAT bad until I went to the Fudge Kitchen who had actual amazing, fresh fudge. read more

Wow, I am very proud to write the first review of Steel's Fudge! Steel's Fudge is hands-down the best fudge you can get down the shore. Having sampled fudge at tourist destinations all over the eastern seaboard, I would actually say that Steel's Fudge is the BEST FUDGE EVER. The fudge tends to be a bit drier and more sugary than other fudges. Don't let that dissuade you. This is some bangin' fudge. I love the vanilla, pistachio, and maple. I am also a big fan of their coconut and occassionally I will get their chocolate peanut butter or rocky road. If only they made penuche. That would be perfect. Once you get your hands on a box, don't let it linger. Steel's (and probably all fudges) should be eaten within a week. Steel's also has locations in Atlantic City. In addition to fudge they have many other candies, including peanut butter and molasses paddles, which my mom is a fan of. read more

Walked in there to buy fudge and was accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill to pay in front of the whole store. After realizing the bill was real, the worker didn't even apologize to me and just told me to have a nice day. will not be returning after being accused and disrespected. read more

I've always been a fan of Shrivers taffy. So, I tried this place. Got chocolates and taffy! Shrivers still has better taffy. BUT these chocolates are AH-MAZING!!!! Especially the chocolate covered toffee squares :) mmmmmm! Maybe my favorite new treat in OC! read more

i purchased some carmels, jelly rings, chocolate covered pretzels, and some fudge yesterday. the candy was tasteless and the chocolate covered pretzels almost broke my teeth (tasted like they were leftover from the summer). It was over $18 worth of candy that I returned because it was all stale. I asked for them to deduct what we ate and return my money. The cashier seemed appalled that I was returning it and did the tranaction then turned her back on me with no apology. I will NEVER shop at a Steel's Fudge store again! read more

The products are good, but the customer service is not. We stopped in to buy a treat for the kids for the drive home. The woman behind the counter was pushing higher amounts of fudge than we were asking to purchase, which was surprising to me considering they have a large assortment of inexpensive candies we could have opted to purchase instead - and it doesn't seem to be the kind of place where she'd have a sales quota to meet. :) When we politely declined to increase the amount of fudge we were purchasing, she was visibly irritated and shook her head, mumbling to herself while she rang us up. I didn't engage with any of the other staff, except for the very nice employee handing out samples outside, so while I can't judge their entire team, this specific employee definitely impacted our experience in a negative way. Next time, we'll head to Shriver's down the boards. :) read more

Good variety, cleaner than other fudge shops on the boardwalk.

A typical boardwalk candy shop, although they appear to be fewer in number these days. There's nothing like a piece of fudge, a carmallow, of some fruit slices while walking the boards. Steel's is as good as any, although I seek salt water taffy elsewhere. read more

I purchased a large amount of fudge to give out during Father's Day, but the girl put it in large containers and gave me cheap plastic bags to divide my gifts up later. I asked her if I could have the fudge placed in the smaller boxes that they had available (since I was giving away multiple gifts). She said "We don't give extra boxes..." I offered her a $5 bill cash and she repeated, "We don't give away boxes..." I proceeded to try and hand her a $20 bill cash for just one small box and she still would not sell me a box. I just don't get it, I wanted to put the fudge for my father, husband and father-in-law in boxes, not cheap plastic bags. I should have just bought $20 in fudge, dumped it out onto the counter and walked away with the leftover box. Needless to say, I will not be back after this experience of incompetence. Other patrons were appalled at the cashier's reaction, I just don't understand this treatment. The most incredible fudge on the boardwalk! I love that it is cut fresh for each customer rather than the precut blocks from other stores. Molasses paddles are delicious and a great assortment of candy. I worked there as a teenager and am surprised by the person who complained about the handling of strawberries. It's not easy to wash and dry each strawberry individually then hand dip it with gloves on. It also becomes a chocolate nightmare. I promise you they wash their hands repeatedly. I have always enjoyed Steel's Fudge, definitely a boardwalk favorite! read more

When my mother, sister, grandmother and I would go to Atlantic City, we'd always stop at Steel's for the fudge, molasses paddles, and coconut macaroons.
