My wife and I spent countless hours searching for photography vendors in the Portland-metro area,…read morewith each portfolio looking the same as the last -- until we saw Bryan's work on his blog: http://www.bryanruppphotographyblog.com/ On no other website did we feel as though we wanted to attend every wedding photographed. The photos were all candid, and real! Bryan had a way of capturing real identities of people. After spending over an hour looking through his work, we called him that evening to book straight away. As an out-of-town couple, we scheduled a few Skype conversations with Bryan so he could get to know us and our style, as well as for us to confirm that he would match our needs. When we flew out to Oregon a few months before the wedding we met for coffee with Bryan to review a draft schedule and create a basic shot list. Bryan was attentive, supportive, and extremely thoughtful -- he put out mind at ease throughout the entire wedding process. On the day of, Bryan had already coordinated with the other vendors to make sure that we didn't need to arrange any logistics during the ceremony or reception. Bryan and his assistant Hannah were excellent at turning what can be a tired and awkward situation (posed photos), into a truly enjoyable and relaxing experience. All this being said above, we waited until we received our photos -- which by our respective parents' standards took "far too long" (2-3 months). However, we were confident that the wait, which Bryan fully disclosed early-on, would be worth it. After the initial 100+ photos (of more than 1,100 taken that day), were posted to his blog, we confirmed that our photographer choice could not have been better. Bryan's work still makes my jaw drop. We are able to relive the day throughout countless moments through all of his candid work. We continue to receive complements on the beautiful pictures from our friends and family, with many of our twenty-something friends saying that they will call Bryan for their weddings. After we received the remaining photos online and via mail on DVD, we asked Bryan to change a few photos from B/W to color, which he did at no charge and within a week of our request. Bottom line: amazingly creative guy who is at the top of his craft. Worth every penny and then some. Thank you, Bryan!

Bryan is my dream photographer. Every email and meeting was a dream but alas, he was way out of…read moreour budget. I'm still moony eyed over his artistry that takes wedding photos to a level of an editorial spread or contemporary piece and respect him so much, but we just couldn't pull $ together in time at the cost of other priorities (because I'm so frugal) our entire budget is $10k and Bryan's pricing was $2k to start so we were looking at $3000-$3500 for what we wanted. When it came down to it, I just couldn't spend that kind of $ and wimped out. If you want to look at amazing wedding photos, graphic prints, and awesome urban backdrops, look no further. Honestly his pricing is a bargain considering you have full right and get so many images plus a second shooter and the photo gallery that's already touched up. When you divide his cost by the image number, plus the time to correct the photos and add them to the gallery, it's clear to see he deserves every penny. He's throwing in the terrific for free! We are doing a fri-sun event so it was hard to figure out the hours and such. Eventually we went with someone at a much lower price tag who was willing to be there the whole time. I hope I get to work with him someday! I guess we'll have to get family pics or something.

Alyssas work was fantastic. When I show people my photos they ask who my photographer was. She…read morecaptured our day and the details perfectly. Her package was great, she was reliable and flexible when I asked her about a possible transfer of dates due to corona. Alyssa and my videographer ran the photos well together. (Although they ran very late- but I do not fault her, the timeline could have used some adjusting-non bridal party members should get hair and make up done LAST) Her photos aren't over edited, very natural looking and won't fad out. She worked with my Pinterest photos, letting me pick a handful of them although most them weren't my favorite out of them all. One of my favorite things about working with her was the turn about time. A handful of photos within a few days of the wedding. The blog - a summary of the day (about ~150 photos) within 2 weeks. Then the full gallery within 8 weeks. And my package gave me the rights to print in whatever way. And didn't have an insane up charge like many photographers do for printing but gave me the option if I wanted her to do it. My only critiques was that my ring was very off center in the close ups of my ring, (I should have got it resized) but I wish it had been centered before photographed. And while we were doing our family photos my family noticed a bit of impatience which could have been due to the heat, masks, running behind on photos, the chaos etc. I highly recommend talking to whoever is helping run the day (coordinators, family friend, etc) to help with the flow of photos, or the first look having vow books etc. The family side of the photos could have used an extra set of hands getting the order down (this might not be the case if you included a second shooter I did not) Ex. Smith family photo Ex. Jones family etc. up next. Etc. checking off those must have photos. All in all, my experience with Alyssa was great. She captured everything perfectly. Her turn around time was great and was follow as outlined in the contract. She did a great job of getting all the shots in of the day. She was great with communication, she always replied in a timely manner. I recommend anyone to her looking for a wedding photographer.

If you're on the search for jaw-droppingly gorgeous, original wedding/ engagement/ senior portrait/…read morenew baby/ commitment ceremony photos, well then, hang up your spurs, pour yourself a glass, and look no further. Heather Espana will exceed your expectations and imagination. Heather was wonderful to work with for our summer 2009 wedding. She put my camera-shy husband at ease and we have some amazing photos to show for our wedding day. She's talented, creative, and fun. On top of that, she takes timeless photos. Case in point: my grandmother was never one for smiling. I cannot find a photo of her in which she was really, genuinely smiling. But she had one of the most hilarious, unexpected (though not always dignified) laughs when she found something funny. At our wedding, Heather snapped the most spontaneous, truly "Grandma Pam" photo I've ever seen. Dancing with my brother to an Andrews Sisters tune, she was truly in her element, smiling widely and breathless from laughing, about two seconds away from declaring, "Oh! Youuuuu!" She died unexpectedly, nearly two months to the day that the photo was taken. Heather not only captured the essence of a moment, she captured a person, and I am so grateful I have that photo to remember her by.

Heather artfully crafts timeless photographs that weave vintage charm with a modern edge. She has an incredible way with light and like me, has a big crush on lens flare. We can't wait for our wedding for all the obvious reason and are excited to see it through Heather's brilliant eye.
