Terrible! I ordered a present for my mum 12 days ago. There was nothing on the website to state…read morehow long deliveries would take, but there was not anything stating that deliveries were taking significantly longer. Despite messaging and asking when were they being dispatched and the two lies that came back from customer service about having sent the item when they havent, the items have still not arrived. No tracking number has been provided either. If you cannot offer a service within a reasonable timescale then close your online shop. My mum is now without the one present that she asked for. Very disappointed. Paypal case opened. CANNOT RECOMMEND!

Absolutely atrocious- two months ago I ordered 3 Portmeirion plates and a storage container. I…read morewaited about 3 weeks with absolutely no news from the company (despite them confirming my order "will be with you within 10-14 days") so I wrote them an email asking for an update on the order- with covid I thought that a week's delay was understandable. I was told them that the items they sold me as in stock were on backorder and that I should have them within the month... that was September... the plates didn't start to arrive until over a month after I made my order- and they were shipping one plate at a time and weeks apart... I'm still waiting for my order to be completed. I asked if I could get a discount with the delay and while they agreed, I'm still waiting for that money to be refunded. Why am I having to chase them up? Especially when they told me I would have all my order by the end of September? My recommendation is to use a more trustworthy seller- Louis Potts is so unprofessional, and unless you're asking for updates, they're just going to steal from you.

Baltic Trader Polish Pottery

Boleslawiec Polish Pottery is hidden away in the Needlemakers, a little undercover collection of…read moreshops in Lewes. Off the main track by quite a step, it's a huge collection of Polish pottery, all blue and white, made in a style particular to Boleslawiec, a south-west Polish town on the borders of a deep forest. The technique is based in hand stamping, which gives rise to beautiful repetitive patterns in a deep royal blue glaze, and has been going since around 1830. Some of the patterns will be familiar to you - I've seen the peacock eye pattern on a few things before. According to the information (which is posted around the shop) these are associated with the German Art Nouveau movement. Some of the patterns are clearly a modern addition though, like the five-pointed star pattern of white on blue, but they go very well with the older, more traditional ones and look brilliant. Although the pottery looks very delicate, it's actually extremely hard wearing and durable - due to a high kiln temperature and a fine glaze, it can withstand dishwashers, microwaves, freezers, ovens and Agas. The prices are surprisingly low for handmade, imported pottery - a large mug comes in at about £10, while teapots are between £15 and £25. Ovenproof pie dishes are around £15. There's a very friendly atmosphere in the shop as well - a knowledgeable old lady presides behind the counter and there are notices up everywhere actively encouraging people to handle the pottery. This is definitely going to be on my rounds for gift-shopping, and future browsing next to their delicious smelling café...

I researched five companies and decided that a smallish local firm would have better coordination…read moreand cooperation between the design engineer, the suppliers and the fitters than is likely to be the case with the corporate people. (You do hear horror stories.) There was a small glitch over the starting date due to staff illness, but otherwise everything ran smoothly and efficiently. It's a small house with very little extra space to leave stuff. We were having the walls, ceiling and floor done at the same time - all arranged with B&H Kitchens - but Darren the fitter had everything sorted out without any fuss and a minimum of inconvenience. The standard of work is excellent and we are very pleased with the end result. It's always good when you are dealing with helpful, friendly people, for whom nothing seems like too much trouble. Thanks chaps.

Great service from this company, who we used for our new kitchen in 2013. They designed a fabulous…read morekitchen for us which gave us everything we were looking for and came in at less than the cost we thought it would be. Their installation team were all really reliable and friendly and it was a pleasure to have them in our home. We found that Brighton & Hove Kitchens gave a very personal level of service, as they are a small company. Any niggles were dealt with quickly and we appreciated the time they took to explain everything to us. We would definitely use them again.
