Couldn't even give him his bed urinal to help him.. Physical therapy was a joke!!! I'm sure they probably said he went every day. They had him so doped up he couldn't even get out of bed. I slowly watched my husband start to go downhill. He even started having kidney problems. My husband finally said get me out of here and we left. Went home no accidents whatsoever. They just didn't know how to or wanted to take care of him in the proper way always understaffed. We finally brought our own water and coffee pot because they would not even let us get it out of the nurses station. I could write a book on this one and we were only there a week!!

The therapist John & Jake was the two people who helped me throughout my journey. They were so kind & helpful! Each week they set goals for me to achieve and encouraged me through this entire process, even when I wanted to give up they kept encouraging me, which was exactly what I needed. I observed all the therapist being so kind to other patients around me! I highly, highly recommend using them for any physical therapy needs! I will definitely use them again if I ever need a physical therapist. Today, I got to ring the bell of my completed therapy. Thank You John, Jake and staff for everything.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! My mother was sent here for rehab at the beginning of October 2022. I…read morenever got a call or had any contact with management until her third week, when they wanted me to give them my preferred funeral home and I was in there every day and sometimes all day. I mean WTF, we're they planning on killing her? Then also in her third week, I mentioned to nursing that I needed them to check her for a UTI, as she was showing symptoms. Don't know if the test was done or not. But I also mentioned that they needed to work with her more on getting out of bed and to the bathroom. She needed to get out of the depends. So now, I got a call saying that she was being released on Friday to go home. Again WTF, she can't get out of bed or even roll over without assistance. THEY DID NOTHING IN THE PAST THREE WEEKS TO PREPARE HER TO GO HOME. They even admitted that they don't have the staff and would not do so. They kept her in bed because it was easier for them, basically the entire time. I'm racked with guilt as she didn't get the care she needed. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER DO NOT PUT THEM HERE. IF YOU HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS HERE GET THEM OUT ASAP. They are just collecting the Medicare payments and doing nothing to improve the patients quality of life.

They considered him violent because, when they moved him from the hospital, he lashed out due to the change, and I wasn't around to help him make the transition. At first, I was happy; I thought he was happy. Then, I didn't see any progress, but I didn't know what to do or say. I was just listening to what everybody said needed to be done. He needed to be there for at least 10 days. In my opinion, he came out worse than when he went in, and almost everybody who came to see him agrees. As soon as he got home and sobered up from the drugs they had him on, he didn't need two people to help him; he only needed one. I'm going to go on with my unhappiness; I'm just disgusted. I'm sure some people have had good experiences, but we did not. The night crew seems to be the worst. They don't want to deal with patients who want to get up; they're just there to collect a paycheck. That's the feeling I got. To add to my unhappiness, the day I went to pick him up to come home, he was supposed to be released at 10 in the morning, and we didn't get to leave until noon. He was still not awake; I have video of how asleep he was. It took two nurses to load him into the car. When I got home, I was crying because I didn't know how we would get him out of the car. Thankfully, my son was home to help me. He didn't wake up until 12:45; I had to sit in the car for 30 minutes until we were able to get him out of the car. And they did not clean the room very well or keep my husband clean enough.

Toilet paper dispenser was broken as well. Chair that became a bed was caked in skin flakes/dandruff. Gross. Techs were paranoid. One asked me if I was recording. (?) when they were changing my dad. Another asked me if I was videoing.(?) I wasn't, but now I wonder what they were so worried about? The assistant director of nursing took me aside and told me she felt I was not interacting with my father properly. She told me when he was trying to talk to me, I should walk away rather than interacting with him. Never mind that I have already tried that method plenty of times in the past two years. Trial and error. I have tried every method and I have read every evidence based practice article I can find to learn how to best interact with my father. She was condescending and had two "witnesses" (as she called them) to watch her chastize me. That woman never spent time with my father and saw a 1 minute snapshot of my interaction with him, yet she felt that was appropriate amount of time tp base her assessment on. I know I am not perfect . I am sure I could do better, But, that quickie assessment and scrutinization was certainly uncalled for! The lunch and dinner meals were awful. They never matched the meal ticket that came with them (?). When discharged, the med nurse sent another resident's medications home with us including some syringes full of heparin.(?) With that patients name on them. (so dangerous!) No instructions given for any of his correct discharge meds. My advice, stay far away from this circus!

My mother was here for 3.5 years and I have to say that the nurse care in Rose AVE (otherwise known…read moreas 2 hall) is as good as it gets. The nurse that I want to especially recognize is Norma McGalliger because she has been the one constant in my mon's life. But the entire staff in 2 Hall genuinely and sincerely loves their residents. Mom has many many friends that have grown to love her over the years; from Herb Morgan-her Pastor, Nicole who worked with her at Canyon Springs and most recently used to come by and do mom's hair and visited, to Rachel and her son who works at Village Springs, to Lisa-the night shift nurse, the Dirksen Hospice employees Jean, Kim Green, Rebecca Karriem, DR Kamel, and too many other folks to mention. Although, at times mom complained about the food they served, she used to complain about my dads cooking when he was still alive and he was a GREAT cook! And every time I talked with Austin, the administrator, he would meet with the food service manager and they would change things up to try to better accommodate moms requests. In these last 5 days that I have been at my moms bedside I have observed very carefully and without question, that there is 100% effort to provide the best of care. Thanks so much Village Springs, Mike Keen, son of Luella Keen
