Arrived mid-day on a weekday and the station was…read morebustling, also arrived/departed from here during morning and evening an additional few times during my stay in Bologna and each time was as busy as the last. Only time it wasn't busy was when there was a national transportation strike one of days. Even then a bout 30-40 minutes into the strike some of the buses were finishing up routes they began before the strike started so there were still a fair amount of people. The layout of the station is a bit confusing, mostly because the signs to the platforms point in every direction possible. For examples there are signs pointing in opposite directions to the same platform if they can be reached by following walkways circling left or right. It feels like in an effort to provide all the options they made it more complicated than necessary. The majority of local and regional trains depart from the ground/first floor level. Depending on which entrance you enter the station, this may be as easy as walking past the lobby, scanning your ticket and heading straight into the platform area. If you enter on the side entrance you may need to walk thru an underground walkway and up stairs or escalators reach your platform. If you are arriving or departing from longer regional routes on high speed trains, these platforms are located on the lower sub basement level. There are ticket machines and offices located on this level. I saw some station associates helping customers at specific ticket kiosks. Between the first/ground floor and sub basement level is a parking and secondary passenger pick-up drop off area. If you're looking to purchase local Bologna public transit bus tickets, you can buy physical tickets for individual rides or a 10-pack at the convenience/smoke shop located on the left side of the lobby inside the main entrance. Also note that physical tickets aren't necessarily needed since most buses also can scan credit cards with chips.

I stumbled upon this lovely hotel when vetting all other hotel options around the area of Bologna. The reviews of the hotel looked decent, the pictures made it look clean, and it wasn't too far out of the city center of Bologna. Well, when we rolled up to this beautiful place my jaw dropped. The fountain was going, the lights were shining, and the hotel lit up like a Christmas tree. We walked into the lobby, and yet another jaw dropping moment. The lobby was clean, spacious, and beautiful with chandeliers and marble tables. The people at the front desk were beyond helpful and friendly. The room was spacious (especially considering there were three of us). The bed was one of the more comfortable beds I've slept in, in my experience of hotels in Europe. The only issue I had was the bathroom. Don't get me wrong, the bathroom was beautiful and spacious, but there was no bathtub, and really no adequate shower. The shower consisted of folding walls; each day the cleaning ladies would clean the room and fold the shower doors back, then each day when we wanted to shower we had to assemble the doors back again - it was a bit strange, but not a total turn off. Now, there was a restaurant that was attached to the hotel. I know what you may be thinking, "blah, hotel restaurant, how good could it possibly be?", well this restaurant was pretty damn good. So good, in fact, that we decided to eat there twice in our three night stint at the hotel! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bologna.

The room was spacious, clean, bathroom was new and spotless. The staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel was a 12 euro cab ride away from the heart of the historic district and they have a fabulous restaurant on site if you'd rather stay here to eat. The parking is easy, there is not much near the hotel to walk to but shops, restaurants and movie theatre are close by.

I…read morechose it for its convenience to the sporting event in which I was participating at CUSB, but the degree of hospitality provided by the proprietors, Giorgio and Cesarina, was superlative. First of all, the room provided was all I needed: comfortable bed, ample closet space, air conditioning, desk with chair, quiet. The shared bathroom was very clean and always available. Towels and sheets were clean and fresh. I speak very little Italian and they speak very little English, but with Goggle Translate, and with other guests at breakfast, we were able to accomplish everything. And, I was not the most prepared guest, but they accommodated every need! I didn't have the proper a electrical adapter for Italy and one was lent to me. I needed my boarding pass printed, and voilà, it was done. As I was headed to airport after my sports tournament, they allowed me to return, late afternoon, after checkout, to shower. The graciousness is outstanding. Highly recommended. I'd stay here again any time in the area. Two thumbs up!

Price seemed reasonable based on other options. There were some quirks: the AC seemed to struggle mightily on a day topping 90 (I'd have some concerns for next week when it's forecast over 100); the mini fridge seemed barely chilled when set all the way cold; and our room only had one small window, set way in a corner. Location is ok. Very convenient for the train station and especially the airport train. And a pleasant walk mostly down the major street to get to the main sights.

It's a good location if you plan to attend the show since the hotel sits right in the middle between the convention and downtown. I think each room might be different and have it's own design and furniture. We had view that looked over the front of the hotel and the view was quite nice. You can see the balcony of the apartments next door and they are all beautifully decorated. The room size was good and the bathroom was big, but the water pressure was ass. The room wasn't as cleaned as we hoped, but it'll do for a night or two.

After a long travel day, the room was very comfortable and the staff was helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Amenities included comfortable linens, small toiletries, and plush robes. The only downside we noticed in the room was a lack of USB outlets. This made plugging in our devices a bit tricker, so make sure you don't forget your adapters if traveling from the UK or US. The breakfast can be added to your room for €15 per person, which we found worth it for the variety of items provided! Breakfast includes a selection of breads and pastries, yogurt, potatoes, eggs, sausage, and charcuterie.

I know that my rating is mid-range, but that's because we found this hotel to be rather sterile and lacking personality. Coming from our hotel in Florence (see separate review of the Palazzo Castri), this was a very different experience. The staff was efficient, but they lacked any personal sincerity. I felt the same way about the hotel itself. It seemed sterile in the same way you would find a higher end hotel in the US. The lobby, as well as the room, had all the right elements, but also was lacking in personality. All of this might have earned this hotel a higher rating except that it was quite expensive and didn't really seem to offer anything unique. My experience at their restaurant (Avorio) was also lackluster (see separate review). I suspect that Bologna has other places to stay that offer more personality at a considerably lower cost.

The neighborhood is sketchy at best the hotel staff are nice enough but seem genuinely disinterested in doing anything that could be described as truly helpful. We paid over $400/night for a suite that had a noisy bed, a combo bath and shower that you have to climb to get into is dangerously slippery and lousy water pressure and a safe that doesn't work. After staying at great hotels throughout Italy this is one to be avoided. And the perfect ending to a horrible stay. Upon checkout tried to charge us $8 euros saying the powdered eggs in the buffet were not included lol. $400+ euros per night and watery fake eggs are extra charge

I booked a Superior room for myself and an Executive room for my sister and my brother-in-law. We stayed here for 2 nights after touring other cities in Italy and had tickets to Ferrari Museum in Maranello but I wasn't interested in hotels in Modena/Maranello. There's a pharmacy, Japanese restaurant, store and gelateria outside this hotel. It's within walking distance to piazzas, restaurants and shopping area. It's about a 30-minute train ride to Modena. The hotel has a modern look - glass stairs (don't worry, there is an elevator) and glass panels, modern decor and pictures on the wall. I loved my red room (my favorite color), white linens and furniture, led panel above the head of the bed - it looked sharp and it was clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well each night. There's a small white flat-screen TV I watched BBC on (and anime dubbed in Italian - hilarious!). The bathroom was nice and contemporary. I didn't mind using the toiletries - the soap, shampoo and lotion smelled pretty good. I forgot to bring my laptop so I wasn't able to use their free wifi. Instead, I used their computer at the lobby for 8euros. The staff was great and helpful. We had an early morning flight and they got us a cab to the airport. I enjoyed my stay and would gladly recommend this hotel/ come back when I'm in the area.
