Don't try to get married here, the staff gets confused on how to follow set up an Event…read more I tried to have my daughter's wedding here and the Event Coordinators kept changing the contract, adding new 'rules' charging extra for some basic. And the coordinators did NOT communicate. Luckily we were able to find a new venue last minute! I hope no other bride has to try and work with this dysfunctional facility, too bad it is beautiful building and is close to home. The untrained staff make this place a HUGE NO!! At least we got our deposit back.

I was here for a wedding recently and while the wedding itself went well, I felt like the Country…read moreClub is pretty small. The area where the ceremony was felt small and the seats were tiny. There was no personal space between myself and the two individuals next to me. The space for the dance floor was really small and I feel like it could barely fit half of the guests. The dinner itself was not great. The salad with a sweet vinaigrette and apples was lovely, but the salmon was way too overcooked and the potatoes were hard and flavorless. Definitely could use more gravy. The steak was cooked medium rare and the best part of dinner (but I heard differently from individuals of other tables). However, I enjoyed the bacon wrapped in cheese (?) bites during the cocktail hour along with the coconut shrimp and shrimp cocktail (the tall shot glasses that the shrimp came in was so thin that it was hard to dip the shrimp in the small amount of cocktail per serving). The cocktail hour food was the best and the late night fries were pretty solid, too. There is a lot of space for people to walk around and mingle outside of the room we were in for dinner. Overall, Oakhurst was alright. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking for a place to host your wedding if you have options.

Giving 2 stars due to the amazing course conditions, but would give 0 stars for the way I was…read moretreated by the ranger. I was told his name was Mike, but cannot confirm. It was a shotgun start, 4 person team event. We started on hole 16 and when we got to hole 8, he told my team that we needed to pick up the pace and that we were 2 holes behind pace. This was absolutely not true as we could always see the group ahead of us. We got to hole 9 and he turned the sprinklers on at the tee box and told us we had to skip the hole. He accompanied us to the hole 10 tee box, where we passed the group ahead of us because they were still finishing 9. As soon as he left us he went back and turned the sprinklers off. So, now we had to wait. It completely ruined the experience for us to the point that we could not enjoy the remainder of the day. I thought he targeted us, but when I spoke to staff members, they said he ruins everyone's time here. They said that he ruins their tips because he upsets so many people. I have no idea why someone like this would be permitted to work in the hospitality field. This was over a $600 round for my team and we feel completely robbed of the experience. Such a beautiful track and the greens rolled so good, but once someone upsets us that much, its hard to relax and focus back on the game. Especially when he kept poking around. I reported the interaction and the pro shop manager said to ga back and play 9, but we were so over it by then. I have reached through the website to see if they will make it up to us. Have yet to receive a response. Very disappointed...

Along the same thread as Ellie my review is based on the Wyndgate as a wedding venue…read more The ceremony was held by the Farmhouse, pictures were shot around the grounds, most notably along the bridge and near the creek where the coolest shots were taken. The entire clubhouse facility is gorgeous and the balcony patio was a really nice spot for mingling near the bar. That said the balcony pulled people from the dance floor with the nice weather...just an FYI. The food was pretty solid...I know the filet mignon was overcooked but it had a great beer, soy, ginger, marinade that was fantastic and the potatoes Dauphinoise were almost perfect. All in all the wedding was one of the nicest I've been to just be prepared to deal with the Wyndgate wedding coordinator...she doesn't mess around but made the day seemless.

This review is for the Wyndgate as a venue for a wedding ceremony and reception…read more IT WAS FANTASTIC! We had a blast, the guests had a blast, it was truly wonderful. Olivia, the coordinator we worked with, was very responsive and approachable. She worked with us to get things just the way we wanted. Here's a run down of the coolest parts: 1. The wedding party and parents got ready in the locker rooms (which are shared with club members, but not that crowded on Saturday mornings!). The men even had little name tags on lockers! 2. We were able to bring stuff the day before to set up (not always available, depending on their schedule) 3. Olivia was there for the rehearsal and for the big day. 4. We had the whole club house ground level for our wedding. Including a large dining room, dessert area with some seating/standing tables, a lounge area with couches, and a dancefloor/band area. The different rooms provided a really cool atmosphere, and people could go where they liked. Don't like loud music? Don't go in the dancefloor room! 5. I'm lactose intolerant, and the chef accommodated plus 100. All my food was dairy free, there were dairy free desserts, etc.! They also accommodated guests with shellfish allergies, gluten allergies, etc. FABULOUS. I definitely suggest looking into them. They are a bit pricy for southeast Michigan, but not the most expensive. If you're looking at a wedding of more than 150 guests and have a meaty enough budget - look them up. It runs around the $100/guest level - plus or minus depending on what you pick for food, package level, etc.
