I previously wrote a positive review, before I knew what was going on with my haircuts…read more I went to this salon for about a year, and always requested long layers. That means some hair in the back should be cut a little above the rest, so that it's not so thick. Well, instead I got angles (face framing, very short around the face) and SHORT layers. I didn't know why for months on end why I felt uncomfortable wearing my hair completely down. I kept wearing the sides up, because in every photo of myself, it looked like I had a short bowl cut with long strings coming down!! It was a very big year for me, and after one event's photos were ruined because of this haircut, I decided to switch salons. The hairdresser there said he couldn't believe how short they had been cutting the back. He showed me with a mirror, and my "long layers" were at eye level!! I have very thick hair, so of course this was making me look awful!! After 2 years of trying to grow my hair out, I had to just chop it all, so that my hair could finally be one length. So sad.

I can only speak for myself but I was in the salon the same time "Janice" was there so if you read…read morereviews let it be said that she is a nightmare client and I warn the next salon she goes to. I was getting anxiety because of the situation and having been to Kristen 3 times, I can't ask for better service. I've been getting my hair professionally done for 20 years and have been to several different salons due to being military and moving frequently so I have a lot of experience. I go to Kristen Phillips and I will not go to anyone else. As long as she does hair I will exclusively use her talent. I first used her a year and a half ago for highlights and absolutely loved her work. I included pictures of that coloring too in a blue evening gown. I went on deployment and 6 months later I had my hair seriously over processed in Germany. I let it grow out for a year because it was soooo damaged, it was falling out in clumps for over a month. I just booked a last minute cancellation for highlights and I was in the next morning. She started from the front this time and I am so incredibly happy. I included my hair before and after. It was super dark and grown out a couple inches. She got me so light and my hair did not fall out. The only thing I wish I did was use my purple shampoo more before getting my highlights because my ends are a little brassy but that's my fault. I love the shine, brightness, health, highlight technique, and face framing. She even got my little baby hairs around my face that for some reason make a big difference. She is the sweetest, she's patient, kind, and so informative! The salon is so nice and the other staff are very warm and welcoming. I was offered snacks and drinks. I am very particular about my hair and I feel like I never like it, it's never blonde enough but I LOVE my hair right now!!! I needed this confidence for some major life events and it was divine, I'm so grateful! I will come here exclusively and Kristen is the BEST!!!
