Superb service and a great atmosphere for a mani pedi! My no-chip manicure lasts up to three weeks. If for some reason one of my nails chips soon after the manicure, they fix the nail for no charge! I highly recommend this salon. read more

I had a no-chip manicure, like I always do- at various nail salons; but this is the first time I've been so impressed that I just HAD to write a YELP review. let me begin this, by saying I have never reviewed any service in my life, and I am 62 y/old. I scheduled a manicure, pedicure at this so called business after reviewing yelp. I rarely treat myself to a manicure/pedicure since I cannot afford this luxury. I was so looking forward to this on my day off to pamper myself. I am a nurse and my hands have cracked and dry skin. I scheduled a manicure/ pedicure several hours ahead. I arrived several minutes early and was brisk told to pick a color and have a seat at the pedicure tub. no words were exchanged, I asked here what her name was, and asked her what here name was. She told me her name was Kim. I felt like this was a drive through pedicure. The procedure was uncaring, brief and totaling uncaring. I was pointed to the drying table foe my manicure, and I thought someone would approach me for my manicure. I am not a rude person, and after my pedicure was dried, I approached the cashier and told her I was scheduled for a manicure also. She yelled at Kim telling her she should have done a manicure also.I was so humiliated and upset, I told her I just wanted to leave. I paid for the pedicure and told her I was not going to leave a tip.I have never in all my years never not given a tip. This was a terrible experience. read more

Love this nail salon so much! They don't skimp on product, are always very friendly, give great recommendations (colors, nail shape, etc.) and I don't have a really have a preference on a nail artist (although I usually go to Ann, My, or Anita) because they all do such a great job. Not very accommodating for the handicap. I was in the area and needed a pedicure. This place had parking and decided to swing by. The lady set me up in a chair and walked away without explanation. Another lady came by, didn't even introduce herself and instructed me to raise a foot. I decided, that because of her rudeness, I'd just stay quiet, periodically complementing her. Before I knew it, she was painting my toe nails, no massage, no warm towel, no option for additional services, just plain rudeness. I waited for my nails to dry and continued to observe others in the chairs. Noticed that the 2 other customers were getting a much better experience. After waiting about 10 min, she came back and grabbed my flip flops, as if to offer to help me exit. I asked her about massage and she explained that my legs were swollen and didn't think I wanted them massaged. Don't assume, that was really the reason I came in, that is what makes a pedicure a great experience. She smeared a little lotion and rubbed a couple minute, definitely the worst pedicure Iv ever experienced. I would normally tip, but I'm sad to say, I left her a minimal tip. No foot scrub, no massage, no razor if the dead skin, no conversation, no greeting or thank you/have a good day. I would not recommend this business. read more

Not my favorite manicure experience. I went here for the first time since I just moved to the neighborhood. The salon is not that clean and is extremely cluttered. I think most of the products on display are for sale but everything looks used and nothing is marked. I had a regular manicure and it was a shorter massage and not a lot of effort into making it a relaxing experience. Also, although my color polish went on well, the clear polish was literally slapped on with two strokes. Whey spend all that time on the first few layers and then the top coat barely covers the nails? You can see where one line ends and the other starts, so defeats the purpose of having it done professionally. Unfortunately won't be returning. read more

I went into Starwaves because my regular place was booked and I needed a last minute full set. When you first walk in- the place is not the nicest or fanciest.... and it was hot. BUT.... my nail tech, "My" did the most awesome job of anywhere I have ever been. I am very very picky about my nails and I like them to be thin, and very natural looking- and that is what she gave me- they were perfect- l iterelly best full set I have even gotte. I have been going to this nail salon for years. The ladies make you feel so comfortable and are so personable. My first choice when it comes to getting my nails done. They have been in the Arlington Heights area for a long time and have a large clientele. My only recommendation is to call and schedule an appointment in the summertime since they are always busy due to their loyal clientele. read more

My mom, daughter, aunt and I have been coming to Starwaves for our no-chips, regular manis and pedicures for many years. I started by going to only one technician, who is meticulous, but have had the opportunity to work with all the other techs who are equally meticulous. All the Starwaves employees are kind and care about the level of work they do. As we have all gotten to know each other over the years, visiting our friends at Starwaves and its relaxed, casual atmosphere is always great fun, too. read more
