Took my son to the bookstore to pickup a textbook for class. Couldn't get a spot in the visitor parking. Talked to a security guard who let me park in another lot! I really appreciated that. Went to the bookstore and received assistance immediately, found the book in about a minute. Proceeded to the checkout and was out of the store in about 5 minutes. What a great experience, compared to my son at another school. My son even had time to visit the cafeteria and eat lunch before class. A win win! read more

I really don't understand how you are supposed to learn nursing (LPN)with the teacher reading everything she already put in a power point, you get no homework, no direction on how to study, go to the DEAN and was told that the teacher is the director of the class and she runs the class how she wants. Then you have to wait a whole year to restart a class due to " the lack of teachers". I was told this directly by the woman in charge of the ADN program. This is a trade school wrapped in a college name (definitely still Akron Practical School of Nursing ) Wish I could give the Nursing School a zero!! read more

Writing this anonymously because I'm still a student but the nursing program is the worst run program I have ever seen. The teachers play favoritism and push up students grades so they can pass. Some teachers get bullied by students and allow the student to get whatever they want. Students get away with cheating because there isn't enough proof even though dozens of people know. Parents teaching children. Teachers being selective with which students grade they handle so they can adjust it. Administrators being against failing favorites but not mind failing people they don't care for. read more

Stark State is a good option for those out of high school or someone looking to further their career. The college offers up associates degrees and is partnered with other colleges if you choose to go on for your bachelor's degree. The school seems to have doubled in size over the last decade and they continue to break ground on new building additions what seems like every year. I personally find SSC a good option to take my gen ed classes close to home before transferring to Akron U. The cost per credit hour is dirt cheap compared to other schools and the teachers/staff are great. read more

Gotta be the best college around. Teachers are willing to work with students whereas some other colleges just want you to get in & out the door. Might as well make your money's worth. Very credited college, Plus it's not as pricey as others too. They have so many career choices as well! read more

went to this college after highschool for about a year or so up until they told me that i didn't pass any of my courses be mindful my gpa was a 3.0 and I had all A's in every class when it was time for me to enroll in my next semester, they told me that i had withdrawl from some courses and was denied to go there again i cried for amonth because i worked hard for that whole entire year. read more

Loved my time here. 99% of the time I have to laugh at the folks who talk bad about Stark State as 99% of the time they are the cause of their own issues. You get what you take out of it. I got a great education and made of great life long friends. read more

I did post secondary classes at Stark State. I feel like this is a great option for recent high school graduates or those looking to go back to finish their education. Tuition is affordable, and the building(s) are all newer and nice. I recommend it! read more
