The comedian wasn't bad. This is the worst service I've ever received at any establishment. McDonald's has more courteous staff and management. For someone to get your whole order wrong, charge two people in your party double, expect you to wait after the shows done for you to correct your problems and then are rude to you on the way out. Also force gratuity on you for the worst service you've ever received. This is a management problem... Because the little peons they have working there don't know any better. read more

I went to the Stardome to see Piff the Magic Dragon and I was blown away by the venue. The employees are super nice and helpful, especially the nice ladies at the box office. The food was also fantastic. I had the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and for my entree I ordered the 10oz Ribeye with fries and rice pilaf. I'm usually not a fan of steaks that sent cooked on a grill, but their chefs made me absolutely fall in love with the steak that I had. The cheese sticks and sides were also amazing. The only bad thing I can say is that the tables were a bit dirty at the start of the show. Other than that, 4 stars! read more

Great overall experience. Facilities were very nice and clean. Acts were all hilarious. Best to arrive about 15 minutes early if you want to sit closer but all seats offer a great view. Went out on a Tuesday night. Place was full. The tickets were very reasonable, the MC was great and the opener was every bit as good as the headliner. They've got a great top notch set up for comedy. Great ambiance before hand, and the service was attentive. Lighting and sound was really solid, and the theater seating gives everyone a good view. The food isn't anything to knock your socks off, but my wife was really excited to have some nachos and bar food for a change. All the food that came out was really well done bar food. The wife had two drinks and we both at for $60. read more

Food was good. Drinks were even better. I recommend the Moscow Mule. Top notch comedians come through. The tier seating is great. The tables are small and you are kind of on top of other patrons, but I get that, that's a business decision, the more people you can get in there the more profitable. My husband and I love going to the comedy club for something different on a date night. We can usually find an appealing act at any given time, and the ticket prices are very reasonable for a good show. They've had some big names come through, but we've usually gone there for the smaller shows as a spur-of-the-moment decision. They do make up for the low ticket prices in the high prices of food and drink. For a meal and a few drinks for two plus tip, it runs us $75-$100. I knocked off two stars for the food and service. The food is downright terrible. I can attest to both their burgers and spinach dip not even being edible, and I am the farthest thing from a picky eater.Their fries are good (get them loaded with cheese and bacon) and mozzarella sticks taste just like standard frozen ones. But it's a good after-dinner place. The drinks have always been good, but I suggest ordering when you can! Once your waiter/waitress leaves your table, you'll be hard-pressed to find them again. The outside of the building is nothing fancy and you may even wonder if you're at the right place - the inside is quite a bit nicer with a newly renovated bar area. The main arena is large with seating at round or long tables, depending on where you sit. There's not a bad seat in the house. The smaller room is entirely round tables. The comedy club offers a great diversity of entertainers, and there's always been about a 50/50 mix of black and white people, and everyone has a good time. Definitely some things they can improve upon, but we'll continue to go there a few times a year. read more

I really like going to the Stardome. They have a wide range of comics that come in and majority of the time, they are hilarious. The exterior of the place could definitely be updated and the parking lot is really tricky whenever there is a sold out show. The staff is always awesome and very friendly. The wait staff have their hands full the entire time. It's a big place with lots of drinking and eating. They are constantly running around and coming by. The biggest complaint that I would have is their drink and food prices. They are a little high compared to other places I have visited especially for the quality of food. The drinks are good, but its just pricey. If you go, make sure you take cash. They do take cards, but there is so many people I don't know how they keep up with what goes on who's cards. They take up so many at one time, its just a mess. Its just better if you take cash for sure. read more

The comedians were great as usual. The food was subpar. I had the Cajun pasta and the sausage taste freezer burned, the shrimp was big and tasteless. We also had the lemon pepper wings as an appetizer, that came after dinner. The wings were under cooked and had to much fatty meat on them. My drinks were very good. read more

Went to stardom after a long time....this place is deteriorating beyond comparison. They've somehow got it in their mind that service, food, and shows can be completely disengaged from todays's reality. So here is the breakdown 1. They don't serve water In a glass. You have to buy a water bottle. Bad for environment and they think people are dumb enough to pay for it. Their waitresses are rude because they think they are doing us a favor by serving. Basically, with this they are promoting that paying for beer or alcohol drink is going to give you bigger bang for your buck and oh yeah, and if you don't want to drive home drunk. Pay for water that is abundantly available out of tap. Well, rest ,I will leave it up to your imagination. 2. Food is so greasy no wonder comedians who come to birmingham make fun of people being fat , unhealthy and uneducated. Trying to eat healthy in this place is gonna to cost you more than two tubs of cheese fries. I paid $10 for a 'Dome Salad' that had lettuce, few strings of onions and crispy fried strings. Topped with god knows how much ranch. WTF? Once again, do they think people are too dumb to come back again and order this. Their hummus dip was tasteless and so called pita bread was hard and not cooked thoroughly. 3. They are still promoting themselves as place to be. This place probably hasn't been re-imagined since 80's. Videos are stale and screens are cracked. The stage is worn out, with bits are flying off when a performer walks on it. My idea of this review is to promote better environment. Fix stuff, treat people better and have healthy options for food. AND stopping selling water bottles , the environment you are part of and people who come both will benefit from it. Who the hell came up with that idea? Are you all suffering that much that you are now 'selling' water. Shame in you Stardome!!!! The little choices like these reflect your character as business! read more

The last two times at the comedy club have been absolutely miserable and we will not go back!!!! First off we won free tickets and then invited 10 friends just to go to the "newly renovated" stardome which don't look any different. They screwed up by taking out all the 6 party tables. Now if you go in you will be sitting in twos side by side. You can't even sit together with your party. Wth is that? Then they couldn't sit us at a table so we could be all together because they were under staffed. What a joke. We decided to deal with the seating. It took them 25 min just to get our drink order then another 15 min just to receive our drinks. Then our waiter came around to let us know that there was a "back up" in the kitchen. Received the wrong order not once but 2 times. After the second time (since the show was almost over) my husband said just to remove his order. He was very upset and this made for a bad night. Couldn't even enjoy the comedy because you can see the stage with all the confused waiters going in front of you and standing there trying to decide where all the food should go to the people in front of you. They even had issues. It's sad. Then we wanted to speak with a manager and she would not do anything. As a matter of fact she asked why we didn't come and find her earlier in the show. Seriously? We didn't want to miss it and we were trying to see if it would get any better but it didn't. My husband for upset and apparently she didn't like it and asked him to leave. So here I am with a party of 8 and my husband had to leave. This place is a joke and so is she. She should of done something. I mean anything after the night we had. But she didn't and said it was our problem. For people that come there once a month and spend over 100$ each time. You have just lost this customer. read more

Last night was my son's birthday so we booked tickets to the stardome, in the past I would have called this place a diamond in the rough because it used to have family seating(tables) so you could be comfortable now it has deli like counters and I feel it really takes away from the buisness, also in the past the drinks where amazing and after drinking three long islands last night I didn't feel a thing (haven't had a drink in 1 year) paid for top shelf drinks, and after paying $32.00 a ticket I was actually disappointed in the show, I have seen a Lisa lampaneli show before and it was better structured before, the comedy was truly sub-par. The best part about the night was my server(josh) and the food was good. Wouldn't recommend going with a large group unless you pay for v.i.p. tickets. The renovations to me feel like a down grade to the atmosphere and they really need a new bartender. Paid around 90.00 for the tickets and 75.00 for food and drinks. Let me just say the comics last night were all great! I laughed through all sets. Now with that being said let's get to the food service and management handling of the situation not a great experience at all!!!!!! We were there with a party of ten friends we were seated quickly and only took about 5-10 minutes to look over the menu and everyone decide what we wanted. ALL orders at our table were placed at the same time. In less that 10 minutes everyone but us got what they ordered. Every time we asked our server what was taking so long he indicated it would only be five more minutes, so after 30 minutes (my husband is far more patient than me) of this I asked to speak with a manager and was told the manager was at the top of the stairs and I could go and speak with him. This would mean I would have to leave my seat at the show and miss some of it in order to speak with him. I informed the server no I was not going to do that and he should come to me. There was about 35 minutes left in the show when our food was finally brought out to us, everyone else at out table had finished their meals and was done. I finally got to speak with the manger about this and he took $6 off a meal that $19 and then told us the problem was we had to wait for "fresh food" to come out and that is what took so long. When I informed him I still didn't understand this explanation especially since all orders were placed at the same time he said it was a busy night and sometimes "this happens" read more

I have been to the comedy club plenty of times over the years and I will say that they do bring in some of the best acts around the country but heck.....they they only comedy club in the city. My 1st issue are that the facilities need upgrading like one person said. The stage looks raggidy and the screens are dull. 2nd issue is the food is horrible. I suggest grab something before you go and that leads to the 3rd thing to where the service is slow. We waited over an hour for 2 beers and a speciality drink. The acts are the only reason I go. I suggest you eat and drink before you go. read more

I have been here twice and enjoyed the Comedy Dhow each time but the beer here is SEVERELY OVER PRICED. A six pack of Angry a Orchard beer cost $9.00 from walmart etc but this place charged $29.00 for a six pack. That is ridiculous !!!!!!! read more
