This location is directly on the corner of 145th street and not far from the train station. Perfect to grab and go before your commute to work or school. I stopped in recently for a couple of pastries (blueberry muffin and a banana loaf cake). The staff here are friendly and attentive. They repeat your order back to you to make sure that it's correct. It's not the best location to sit down and read or get work done on your laptop. There's a decent amount of sitting available. read more

I can't believe I've been coming to this Starbucks for years and never left a review! Located on the corner of West 145th St. and Bradhurst, this is hands down one of my favorite Starbucks locations. Why, you ask? Because the service is always consistent, especially since they had a renovation. The vibes are chill. As for the drinks? It's an 8.5 out of 10 on most days but sometimes the stars align and it's a perfect 10. This has become my go to Starbucks. I know many of the baristas by name now, and they're good at what they do. Honestly, I think this Starbucks is more reliable than some of the local cafés nearby (I hate to admit that, sorry not sorry). This is my favorite Starbucks in Harlem. It has been a year now since I've discovered this Starbucks and started ordering. The Staff is friendly and always smiling. In the morning of Winter it feels warm, you can feel it in the air --such a familiar and comforting feeling. In the morning of Summer they are all full of energy and excited for their days. Now don't get me wrong their has been 4-5 times during the entire year where my order was messed up or the staff wasn't pleasant at all -- but in times like that I would speak up and they would usually apologize or someone else would take over. Sometimes it's not too crowded and when it's not it's really cozy and nice. A few times the music is too loud in the store which makes it hard to order or communicate. Slow, dirty, unorganized- if you're in a good mood it won't last long after waiting 20-25 minutes to pick up pre-ordered drink. It's so disorganized that you leave with your head spinning. Now I see what other yelpers are saying. Black lady distributing the drinks at the door is straight up rude. I repeated my order just to make sure she got it correctly and she rolled her eyes at me. I had not been to this Starbucks for about 8 years, since my nail artist moved away. It's still a mixture of new and old, thankfully keeping the Sugar Hill vibe steady. The staff is friendly; the patrons are as well and it seems a few folks hang out there and do work during the day. It was extremely busy, between in-store and mobile orders, so I had to wait quite a bit of time for mine to come up in the queue. Super Clutch Starbucks. Great location. Across from Duane Reade, Super Food Town, On the dame block as NY Sports Club, and just a few blocks from the A,B, C, D trains. Starbucks on 145th is always a pleasure to go to. The Baristas are always courteous. When I arrived in the past the baristas always knew what I wanted .. which is the Veranda Blonde roast! It's almost a ritual to have before I start my mornings. Unfortunately the new ones don't pay as much attention to who's comes regularly vs making sure all of the orders are fulfilled during the morning rush. Baristas Sydney, Bri and there's another who's name escapes me are always friendly and welcoming. Bri had an issue about giving me caramel on a coffee crap but that water under the bridge . This Starbucks Barista/Cashier are students which should really watch which customers stays and which don't. It is hard to find seatings here. Try getting a refill from them without giving an argurable lecture from them. Everytime I asked for a refill previously, they would say, "it's for customers that stay in the stores only." I always love the conversations going on around the table. Sometimes it's politics, sometimes it's proselitization, sometimes it's about news, and sometimes it's about the world that we live in (of which I had a fond conversation tonight, about how society in America is changing). I was near this one conversation tonight that made me feel like Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG-1: some people were talking about Flight MH370, and there were lots of back and forth points thrown around, and one lady exclaimed, 'Is there an engineer here?' That, of course, was what made me feel like Daniel after his ascension: that having that status ('ascended' in his case, 'engineer' in mine) did not make him all knowing, but that it was just the start of a journey. Afterall, while an engineer can make sense of certain things he/she cannot divine information that was never given. It was a lively and friendly conversation, and I like the sense of community that has built up around that big table. read more

Why can't this SB manage to make enough Passion Tea to last out a day? I've got two words, people: Double batch. I may try the new (-ly packaged) Iced Coffee soon, if I can find a coffee toddy cold brewing system. (Okay, I just found it at www.toddycafe.com.) This rude barista with white hair that was a wig or something on her head was nasty and rude first of all she's singing to her personal play list of crap music and her voice on top of that is a horrible environment to walk into . I ordered a bagel and I was sent my assistant to grab my bagel he was waiting 20 min and asked where the bagel was and this thing replied with "if it's not there it's not ready" he then tells her it's been 20 min and she replied with "well you can leave" which he did . I lost my money which doesn't matter I wouldn't want that serving or making my food anyway . It's disappointing that a well known establishment hires anyone with no training or sense of customer service . Horrible service never again will I spend money at that location . It's always open when I need it to be lol. I believe they open at 5:30 am? Which is perfect because I've become an early riser lately and discovered a lot work gets done when I'm not in bed. [More motivation to do work]. When I arrive the manager is always involved for the morning rush if the next shift hasn't clocked in yet, to keep things moving and it does. The most I waited for the cashier (who was also the food stand/ food warmer, so I get it) was 2 minutes and the manager saw the line forming and began asking customers their drink orders so they'll be ready after the cashier comes back to ring us up. That's effective and being in the service industry appreciated- there's nothing like a hands-on manager! I always get a chai latte with almond milk. It was good, chai lol. Nothing spectacular really. Did it's job. Seating (in the morning) is for the taking and really you can't go wrong* with any spot. (*wellllll only if you sit on the left side of the restaurant where the outlets don't work, but the view is nice :) It's the reason for the one less star) The people are chill too. They either sit and study or meet up with their friends and leave. IMPORTANT NOTE: BATHROOMS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CLEAN. I've even came in later at 9am and left at like 1/2 and they remained clean! This Starbucks is terrible. I think the only reason they're constantly busy is because they're the only Starbucks in this entire area of Harlem. If I place a mobile order, most of the time, they don't put in the sweetener I've requested. Or they've run out of the food I wanted. The point of mobile orders is so I can grab and go. Instead, I have to double check every time if they put in the sweetener. They also can't make lattes consistently. Sometimes its OK. Sometimes its so strong and bitter that I wonder if they didn't reuse old coffee or put it way too many espresso shots. A week ago, I went in and they ran out of Splenda. They had some other random sweetener there. A couple of days later, that sweetener was gone and the Splenda was back. Safe to assume they had misjudged and didn't order more Splenda on time. It happens, except then they completely ran out of napkins. When I asked for some, I was given a surley answer by a barrista as if I was bothering them for even asking. Many interactions with staff here have been with an attitude. And I don't accept the excuse everyone likes to give now that they don't get paid enough. My first job was at Dunkin' Donuts on minimum wage. You do the job you accepted. If you don't like it, get another job. You do a disservice not just to the company, but to the other workers who have always been pleasant and try to do their jobs well. FYI - no napkins in the holders again. This place is just like any Starbucks- quick and easy but caters to young rich people. All of the items on the menu are expensive. I have gone here about three times, but only because I have had coupons for it. I never buy drinks here, only things for lunch- such as sandwiches, or breakfast items like egg wraps. The staff is friendly and I have never encountered any problems. There is usually a good amount of people in it, but it never looks like it is crowded, so there is plenty of space. Overall it is a good restaurant, I would go more often if they included more items on the menu that were lower in price. It is just a classic, typical Starbucks restaurant. I've spent a decent amount of afternoons and evenings here buried my head in a book and I'm glad to report this is one of the very few Starbucks location that'll get 4 out of 5. (Sorry but the Starbucks in Istanbul still has my heart!) The staff here are efficient and friendly, always greeting you with a smile. I've seen a few incidents where a patron was particularly disruptive, yet they still remain professional. To date they haven't made any mistakes with my orders i.e. I'm very particular with my drink (no milk in my cup). This location is always kept clean, and so is the bathroom (thankfully) due to the Starbuck's team diligent efforts. I'm more inclined to patron this establishment than the other coffee shops because of the unlimited wifi, clean premises, free coffee refills (gold status), and the amicable staff.
