I noticed the moment when I walked in the door was how warm and inviting the store is. I was greeted with genuine smiles by all of the barista's which normally happens in Hawaii. My food and beverage were great and the atmosphere was super pleasant. You should always sign up and connect your Starbucks Mobile App to pay for your order using the palm of your hand. I always order via the mobile app and the Kamehameha Shopping Center Starbucks is prompt with pickup. I believe they've only gotten my order incorrect once...iced instead of hot, so not a big deal. Recently, downloaded their app again and cycled through their Fall beverage menu and am matriculating ( using it as the slang term from NFL legend, Hank Stram, for any English language Nazis) through the Winter menu - enough of the (one)Pump(chump)kin Spice Latte for myself. Corporate claims are that they've upgraded ( their term and this is a correction from original review ) the matcha as it now doesn't contain added sugar. I tried it of late...I'd say that is true...their isn't sugar mixed in with the powder. Ordered a hot Matcha Latte without any syrup and it has a slightly more earthiness with that bitterness. Starbucks' new menu item cortado is pretty good as well. Essentially, a smaller version of lattes served in the States. Brown sugar cortado with oatmilk was quite good as well. Always a great visit. These baristas bust their butts with a smile. Even when some people don't deserve it lol. Watched some poor barista get attitude from an entitled customer and she never said anything rude and wished the customer a great day and went on with her life as if nothing happened. Kamehameha Shopping Center parking has always gets me lost in directions I have no idea where I'm going so I grab one as soon as I find one usually not in the covered garage area as I hate getting stuck in there. As soon as you enter the service bar is basically the entire length of the store...super long leaving not much seating but the service here is always a delight and with a sense of humor as I order forgetting how to describe what I want...but they know and laugh along with my brain-freeze. Since I brought my own cup in-person ordering is necessary to earn my additional 25 stars and with that I got two Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte with Almond Milk no whip with Pumpkin Cold Foam is my current obsession. This location is at the Kamehameha Shopping Center. I went on a Wednesday and the line was long. They were running a half off promo. The workers kept their cool and were rushing out the drinks. I ordered a venti caramel frappe. I had originally asked for the caramel crunch frappe, but they were out of the caramel candy sprinkles. The drink took 10 minutes, but it was extremely busy. The drink came out great. I used my reusable cup and the whipped cream was sticking up above the cup, so I could lick the caramel drizzle. Yum! I've been coming here since 2017, and I got to say, most of the baristas make it a point to remember their customers and their drinks. I love that connection that most of them build. It really helps to have the app, because now you can order ahead of time, which makes picking up your morning coffee an easy quick fix. Morning are busy so, be sure to place like super early so you're still not waiting. They renovated inside, so the place looks great. There are a few spots for people to hang out or even do homework. March 2006 was one of my favorite months, as the access to a coffee cafe was near my home and workplace--yay! Over the past 18 years, this Starbucks has become a staple in the community, as many--including myself--have used this space to hold meetings, grab Traveler's for gatherings, celebrated occasions with a great cup of Joe and more! Over the years, the barista's have delivered consistently great customer service, including greeting me by name and knowing my regular order. However, with the changes brought on post-Pandemic, I noticed a higher turnover of baristas, so the personalization of customer service has declined a bit--justifiably so. Yet, this location seems to be consistent in having drinks ordered on the app available on time--which is much appreciated by those who are on their way to work. I have had all but great service here before to the point my order was memorized and they knew when I walked in the door. Today Brittney was horrible. She was in a black apron and working with peer at the mobile order pickup area on the inside of the counter. She told me Thank you in a rude tone and then proceeded to tell the other worker that is how you get customers to respect you and say thank you. This Starbucks location was busy on the day that I went. I usually go to the ones in downtown to get my caffeine fix but due to COVID-19 the locations I went to have been closed. The staff were really good with customer service and making drinks in a timely manner. I had gone inside on the search for my favorite... Venti Caramel Frappucino with caramel walls and whipped cream blended inside (and on top). Shhhhh... this is my "tReAt YoSeLf" drink. And to use my reward points on a brownie before they expired. It had been over a week since I remembered seeing those "Redeem your birthday drink on us!" emails from Starbucks. I had never actually gotten around to using it due to my busy schedule :( I went in to inquire about this offer. In the past I remembered something like you had the whole month to use the offer. I had consulted with 'Bing Search' to research this but could not find a definite answer from Starbucks about this. I know I should have asked 'Google' ;( For those of yalls that are also wondering, I read through the small print for us and found it. If you come here during MON-FRI mornings, they have the best crew working! Even on busy mornings they are able to ring & get quailty drinks out as fast as possible. Such a friendly staff with the best customer service. If you do decide on getting food warmed up, please be aware that there will be a long wait. I love this place for several reasons. I love how they renovated the place to be open and you can get a view of how the baristas make your drink. The wait time is not very long. The staff are nice and helpful bc I came in once to get coffee grounds for my garden and bc there was a lot of grounds, it was super heavy, so one of the male baristas offered to carry it to my car for me. I'm definitely getting more coffee grounds from this place. I was recently craving a Chocolate Chip Cookie and it was my first time getting one from SB this week and it was worth the $2.50 something. They warmed it up for me just right, it was huge and it tasted bomb! I'm very particular about my cookies and I think it's now on my top favorites. read more

I appreciate this SB a lot. One of my go-to homework spots in town. Love that Kam Shopping Center has shaded parking garage as well. As with any SB, timing is everything. Go right after school, and you'll be battling space with hyper elementary and high school kids, envying their metabolisms as they slurp up sugary blended drinks with caramel, Thai, you name it kinda walls. Young couples might make out in a corner, and sometimes you'll be waiting for the bathroom for a while. This is true of any SB, not just this location. That said, staff here is great. Always friendly, at least those I've interacted with. If you snag a table near an outlet, even better. Wish we had several multiple-story SB stores like how they do in Korea - with study nooks and outlets. Overall this is a go-to SB for me. I wonder if SB would employ a communal outlet bin? You know - like there be several power strips ppl can share but to be kept at that SB with a time-limit. Some ppl might try to hog one strip to themselves, though....hmmm. Enter on School Street or Makuahine Street. PARKING: free and convenient! AMBIANCE: calm, quiet, clean, and cozy. Every table was taken with people on their laptops. SERVICE: even though there was a line on a week night, it moved quickly because of attentive, helpful, and efficient workers! I met my Lunch Buddy here for a quick meeting and discussion. He usually has great ideas (what to eat on vacation, where to go, the latest trends, etc.) and this Unicorn Drink was on my list of things to do! Don't get me wrong, this location is great, which is why it's always busy... I get it. This is why I use the mobile app to supposedly forego this nuisance. This morning (as of this post) was like any other. I put in the order on the app and it told me the order would be ready at 6:45 a.m. Fine, good dealio. Drive there, wait in the car until 6:47 and walk in. I'm not gonna lie, the place was packed, and every barista was scrambling to get things prepared and out the door with customers. Not one person was idle. Although, as it became 7:00, then 7:15, then 7:30... I realized that, yes, everyone was busy... but not efficient in the tasks they were doing. As the time passed to 7:35, I lost my patience. By 7:38, my order was ready. Then I realize, that one of the pastries I ordered was wrong. How can it be wrong?! It says what it is on the label! I then had to raise my voice to get someone to actually address me, just to get my complaint across, that I was waiting there from 6:47 a.m. and received my order at 7:38 a.m. and give me the wrong order... which was received with a cut off of repeated "I'm sorry" while I was in mid sentence, with a non-chalant attitude and then he just went back to what he was doing. I used to work in sales and retail... if I had that kind of attitude, I would've been fired in the following second. Don't just brush customers off... I get it, you're busy, it's busy, but we're ALL busy. For ALL Starbucks locations reading this (which I doubt you can as you so often have proven with the employees you hire), if your app says it'll be ready a certain time, it should be ready at THAT TIME. NO EXCUSES! Or, at least notify customers that the location you're ordering from is experiencing higher than normal customer activity, and if we would like to commit to our order... then once we commit, we cannot argue, we chose our destiny. To sum this up, eight baristas were busy, but seemed highly flustered and inefficient as my time there passed to past fifty minutes waiting for a mobile order. Then I was met with a half-assed apology while being cut off mid-sentence. This is highly unacceptable, and the employees at this location should be retrained in efficiency, or leave the kitchen if they can't stand the heat. What is second place? The first LOSER. read more
