Never been to this starbucks so my first time coming was to pick up a order. I came in and waited like 3 minutes since i seen everyone was busy. I seen a girl cleaning her area so I asked her if she can help me, I have a uber pick up order. She hit me with the mam you have to wait you can just come in budding like that. I looked at her but just kept my composure. I felt so embarrassed and also felt like i was being discriminated.. I ended up telling another girl right after her and she actually gave it to me no problem since she seen what happened. I spoke to the manager his name is Angel and got the girls name. Best Starbucks location, hands down. Coming from an ex-Starbucks barista, this store exemplifies what a Starbucks cafe should look like. It's clean, organized, and so friendly. They always welcome me whenever I come into the store, they show genuine interest in getting to know me, and many of them even memorized my usual drink order. Special shout-out to Rachel (sorry if I misspelled it), she always makes the best conversations with me and even surprised me with a pastry when I was having a rough day. Hidden pretty well this location is on Riverside drive right next to Bobs Big Boy. Huge parking lot and loads of chairs for the inside and out. I love this spot already!!! I don't know what it is about Starbucks but it makes me just feel happy when I walk in the front door. I love to just think about what I'm about to buy and how it is going to satisfy my cravings. Yum! MmmM sometimes you do need a pick me up and Starbucks makes them soo good and tasty. I ordered my mocha frap with soy milk and an extra shot of espresso. No whip and that is what I got! A great and awesome drink. Sitting down in the patio or inside is really nice and pretty clean. The bathrooms were spotless and the service was very quick even though they had tons of people. I must of been the 8th customer but I got my drink so fast that I felt like they had it ready before I even ordered it! Maybe they are God! I have been to a lotta Starbucks...A LOT....and the staff here are my favorite! (with the exception of an incredible barista I met driving cross-country somewhere in Kansas... pre-Yelp days). The times I have been here, the staff has been so considerate, routinely cleaning the counters and bathrooms, keeping the location nice for their many patrons (it gets really crowded here). Naturally, I have had my order messed up before and its so refreshing on how accommodating they are here at this location for any mistakes made in the orders (which only happened to me once). Shout out to the Alex(s) (the guy AND girl) who are on par with their quick service and consistent quality drinks!...and especially Frankie who literally is always smiling! I almost had a shabby experience here but it turned out to be awesome. This Starbucks is pretty much everything a Starbucks should be. They've got the free wifi. There is plenty of comfortable seating and outlets to plug your lap tops into. Outdoor seating is very nice and shaded in the daytime. It's a hot spot! During my first experience here, I ordered a handmade soda that was forgotten. It didn't bother me at first because I was busy working on my MacBook anyway. Then I noticed that a lot of time had passed and almost forgot that I ordered a soda. I told them about it and they looked confused briefly. I love the staff here!! I'm here Friday, Saturday, Sunday!! There are times that I don't have time to brew a nice cup[s] of espresso from home and this place is so conveniently located next to the place I work. I think I know most of the weekend staff by name; morning and evening shifts lol. It's just like any other Starbucks location, but truthfully everything seems much more chill here. It may be due to the many coffee shops found in Burbank, but even when there are long lines it doesn't seem like there's a rush to get in and get out like other places. It can be a place to sit down and actually enjoy a nice cup of coffee, do some work, and possibly even lounge around. Melanie, Jo, Rain, and Britanny are the nicest Starbucks partners I have gotten to meet from any and all locations. They definitely deserve some kind of raise or promotion. They have never failed to disappoint me in my cravings and it has gotten to the point that they remember my order. Quad shot over ice with 4 pumps hazelnut!! Although I'm trying to lower the sugar intake and get only 2 pumps. But sometimes I just got to splurge:) Many people are regulars here and you can see them interacting on a very friendly basis. This used to be my go-to location when I was living in the area and didn't have access to the internet within my apartment. The interior has changed quite a bit since I used to hang here (2009 or so), I'd say for the better. Service is usually pleasant, sometimes a little slow, but it's also one of the busier locations that I visit. Interesting sightings here as well, from a current pop star (I guess that is what she could be considered), to an international dance choreographer, and why not throw in a local weatherman for kicks? I'm surprised they don't offer the Starbucks evenings menu, as I usually see a decent crowd morning until night. I feel this location would do well with that kind of thing. Parking is a free large lot in the back shared with Bob's Big Boy, but I'd avoid Friday later in the day since they do this classic car event which will take up most of the spaces. read more

This Starbucks is special. "How is that possible?" you ask. You dismiss me with a flick of your wrist, "Just another Starbucks chain location, that happens to be on a cute corner in Toluca Lake." I get it. It's not owned by hipsters who sell gluten free muffins. Everyone is wearing a uniform, which knocks the cool factor down, and yes, it's a chain... but Starbucks is far from a normal chain! And this Starbucks is always a little better than most! First of all, it's spacious, and I can imagine all sorts of Hollywood types clicking away on never-to-be scripts for hours on end just to get out of the studio apartment they share with three other dudes probably hanging out there during the week. I typically go to this Starbucks on the weekends, and it's always less than busy. I have noticed that there are always Venti cups of water with a few sprays of flowers at the counter.. and I think that's really cute!! It makes the place feel a little less corporate and a little more loved by the people who work there. The people are always friendly, and fairly prompt. In the summer, I order a grande Java Chip Frappicino light with soy and an extra shot, and not only have they never screwed up my drink, they typically ask if I want the add shot blended... something that only one in maybe twenty average Starbucks baristas will think to do. They're also as friendly and gracious as you'd expect them to be, which honestly puts them a cut above average in a city where those in the service industry are often trying to become actors or screen writers or whateves. I find myself going a little out of the way on the weekends to pop in here because it really is a little better than the average chain spot- but it might be a little nuttier during the week, hence the mixed reviews? I've been coming here a few times a week for a few months now. I've had no issues up until the last few weeks I've been having a problem with people stealing my mobile order. The employees have been nice enough to remake my order immediately when I tell them it's not there when it should've been ready ten minutes prior, but there should be a better system in place to ensure the drinks aren't stolen. I also can't give this location a full 5/5 stars because they are often out of stock of a lot of things. For example they have been out of stock of certain breakfast sandwiches for almost a month, and it seems like they are out of oat milk every other week. Used to be one of the best SBUX locations in the valley but you can never find seating anymore. Customers use this place as an office. It's disappointing to come out and find that EVERY SINGLE SEAT is taken by someone with a laptop that looks like they are not going anywhere anytime soon. It's a shame because I would love to sit inside like I used to and enjoy my coffee while having a conversation. I battled with myself whether to post this or not but you know what we're in the middle of a pandemic, everyone should be a little nicer. We are all having hard times right now. I came in the other day and was waiting on my mobile order while a nasty exchange was going on between the young lady behind the bar and a customer. The girl behind the bar who I believe to be the "supervisor" (if I heard correctly) was going back and forth w a customer, although I'm not quite sure what about as I caught the tail end of it. From what I gather, the customer was asking her something and showing her phone to said supervisor. Maybe a mobile order? Not sure. Supervisor then raised her voice and asked what the customers problem was as she was "BUSY". The customer, might I add, had a small child w her in a stroller and was being pleasant from what I gathered and asked why she was being so rude and if she could remain professional. The barista said something like, "why are you still talking to me?" The woman asked for her name but I don't think she got a response. I, on the other hand could see her name tag read MAX. The woman picked up her items and left. I was compelled to speak up - but being that I had only caught wind of the end convo I did not want to pry. The woman did not seem as upset as I felt! Look, we are in the middle of a pandemic! Everyone is going through something. Please be nice! I saw the woman outside walking home w her child, and it really got to me. This store is in my neighborhood but the few times I've come in to this location I have felt something was amiss. Like it kills them to answer a question we might have. I've come in to grab my mobile before and saw that same young lady behind the bar. When I asked about my mobile order she just pointed to the "to-go" area. Yes, thank you, I'm aware of where the mobile area is. The problem here is that the food and drinks are always piled on top of one another and it is hard to see the names. If we are in the middle of a pandemic I don't think it's wise we are touching other people's food or drink items to get to ours, it just doesn't feel right. La la land cliches abound. I had a class the other night that I needed some serious caffeinage to get through and so I made the rare decision to stop off and get some coffee. I could have gone to Priscilla's but parking there is the suck sometimes, so I decided to just hit corporate coffeeland and settle for Starbucks. When I walked in all I saw were a sea of Mac laptops. The glowing white Apple logos were everywhere. I could see a few screens and all of them, we're talking ALL OF THEM had screenplays on them. Sorry but this review is actually 3 days late, but last thurs I was having a mid afternoon with a friend and whille we were chatting the starbucks barista begin passing out all these freebies such as lattes, blueberry muffins, and cookies. This lead me to think 'Damn did Starbucks stock just go up or something'? Another thing when you go to Starbucks be sure to have some decent company with me which I did so it made it more pleasant. Now here is the big finish. We're chilling just shootin the gobble gobble and all of sudden the barista comes out again! " Oh my Goodness what are they bringing us now"? The barista was walking around holding a bowl and some tickets "A raffle"? I say and that's exactly what was going on. When he came over to us he handed me and my friend two tickets and instructed us to put our name and number on the ticket. Since I'm a bit of a smart ass I put my name/number/address/email addy/shoe size. Barista: "What's all of this"? ME: "Oh I just wanna make sure you can find me when I win"! The barista laughs at me and I tuck my ticket away not really thinking about it anymore then my friend and I parted ways and I went to run some errands then my phone rings. Starbucks: "Is this Lovejoy Cole" ? ME: "Um yes how can I help you"? Starbucks: "My name is Dane from the Toluca Lake Starbucks and I just want to inform you that you won a brand new Barista Expresso machine valued at $399", ME: "Are you serious"? "Is this a joke"? Starbucks: "No sir just bring in your ticket and it;s yours" I bolt to Toluca Lake to claim my prize before they change there mind and when I walk in I hand the guy my ticket and he hands me my brand new expresso machine included with a video instructional tape. One of the guys behind the corner gave me the evil eye and told me how lucky I was.....You damn right!...Later bitches! As the Duchess of this fine establishment, I'd like to say that the service from the staff here is superb! Best out of all starbucks in southern california!!! I come here so often, sometimes by the time I walk to the register, my usual drink's made and done at the same time I'm paying - that's how friendly the staffs are, you don't see much of that any more in LA. If you are lucky, sometimes you can spot a couple of celebrity here and there because it is located near by all the studios in Burbank. Does the world really need 560,027 reviews of various Starbucks? Despite the fact that this Starbucks or that Starbucks forgot your foam, treated you rudely or locked you in the bathroom for an hour, there's really nothing new under the sun to report about these places that hasn't been said before 560,027 times, that would justify people posting 100 new ones per hour on yelp. Instead, here is how I imagine the very first review of Starbucks appeared: "Walked in here by accident on the way to having a corn removed from my right foot. (Not the kind of corn that's a buildup of dead skin with a hard center core on or between my toes, just an actual ear of corn that got stuck down there.) Wow, what is this place??? Everybody is sitting around drinking this brown liquid and reading scripts! I tried to order some of this mysterious, enchanting brown soup but it seems like everybody who worked there only spoke Italian. Finally another customer came to my rescue and informed me they were selling coffee. COFFEE! For like $9 per cup! I could only laugh and inform her that according to my calculations, the 75 pound bag of Folgers I buy at the Price Club (*writer's note* this was before Costco) makes approximately 2 swimming pools worth of coffee at around .03 cents per cup. I told the coffee maker dude (later I learned they're called "Bear-Easters") that this place would never make it and he should stop embarrassing himself and get a legitimate job like the one I have at the miniature golf course washing people's balls. When he stopped laughing and spitting out his gum, I told him Starducks should just give it up and donate all their high stools and frou frou tables to a needy cause like the Salvation Army. (By the way, why is there no Salvation Navy?) Just then I met a Director named Frank Gesture, who told me I'd be perfect for a part in his new movie: "Moth Girl VI -- The Cocooning"...so we grabbed a seat and within 25 minutes we were making out hard on the floor.
