UPDATED REVIEW -- I still enjoy visiting my hometown Starbucks. I visited again on the morning of Saturday, 19 October 2024) to grab a quick breakfast sandwich which I ordered ahead of time on the Starbucks app. I arrived 10 mins later and it was ready for pickup. However, because I was in a rush, I forgot to check that a sriracha packet (sauce) was added and by the time I left, it was too late. They forgot to include the sriracha sauce packet which was not the end of the world. I've been back to this Starbucks a few times since my last visit in October 2024 and I still love coming here for the nice customer service, breakfast sandwiches, and bakery items (my favourite are the pound cakes). TIP: The music here sometimes can be loud so this isn't always the best location to work or read. read more

When someone places an order for two, identical drinks, they should be made TOGETHER and put out TOGETHER. Today, they made the first drink, then the person who made it switched to making other orders for about 5 minutes. Then finally returned to our 2nd drink, all while the first drink is getting cold. Ordered an iced coffee for me and a water for the kid. Two drinks I thought would be simple enough. We waited and waited and waited some more. People came and went. Took 11 minutes. Apparently anyone who orders online gets preference. Like I said, I understand this won't matter, but what a lousy world we've made. A customer standing in front of you doesn't matter at all, just keep churning through those faceless folks ordering their daily fix from an iPhone. I realize they train the employees to not think and just follow the computer orders but this is the beginning of the end. My friend told me about this Starbucks a while ago. This used to be an old bank! It's got a vintage feel with the high ceilings and chandeliers. My friend told me it can get loud in here since the sound really bounces off the walls. I parked parallel since their lot was full. Many people were sitting in here chatting or grabbing coffee. The staff was nice and I didn't wait too long. But it's a busy location though! Lots of people live around here and Capital University is right across the street. Not sure when I'll be back, but it's definitely a place to check out! read more

While I'm not a Starbucks fan (I don't drink coffee, seldom a chai latte), this Starbucks gets the fourth star based on the excellent customer service I received on this first time stop-in. I needed a Traveler for my professors day-planning retreat, so I originally stopped at Bexley's Giant Eagle Market District, only to see a sign that their Starbucks is now not opening until 9 AM. I've gotten a few Travelers from them before, but their customer service is always less than desired. So, I went down the road to this other Starbucks in Bexley. The gentleman that helped the gal at the register enter in and charge for my request took care of my order right away. It took about 10 minutes, as they have to brew an entire thing of coffee to fill their to-go cardboard containers (so it was fresh as could be). Meanwhile, the guy brought out a nicely packed sack of sugars, sweeteners, stirrers, napkins, and a LARGE GLASS of creamer. I mentioned that I didn't pay for the creamer - my only other experience was based on my dealings with the GE Starbucks, and they charge $5 for a small glass of creamer, which is highway robbery, so I always just get the coffee there, and the creamer elsewhere - and he said ALL the accoutrements come FREE of charge. Whaaa?! I told him about the abysmal pricing situation at the other Starbucks, and he said that location is in fact NOT owned by Starbucks, and they do their own thing. **Great to know - I'll not go to the GEMD one for travelers again. Want to add, this building use to be a back, so I love to old chandeliers still hanging from the ceiling. It's spread out inside this Starbucks, definitely no crowding necessary. Several tables and chairs and a nice fire place going in the corner. There was a man running the end of the counter space lining up orders as they were made and calling out names for pickup. Visited at 7 AM on Monday, August 14 - - was ignored by the staff in Lou of their conversations with each other (maybe the manager, if you can believe it?) It is always a long wait at this location, but I was willing to wait if other customers were being served - - not when staff is more interested in socializing, then serving customers. read more

Very disappointed with this Starbucks customer service and cleanliness. The building itself is beautiful. It's an old bank that has been renovated. When you walk in it is a bit confusing where to go to order. I'm glad there was a line to help direct us. When we got to the counter all the employees looked so sad and acted like robots. No customer service, just going through the emotions like they did not want to be there. We ordered our drinks and it took a long time for them to be made. They called our name and sat the drinks on the counter and walked away. Anyone could have picked our drinks up. When I picked up my Pink drink it looked weird, not like the picture at all, it was mostly white, like milk. I tasted it and it tasted different too. Upon further looking at it we noticed their was no strawberries or strawberry flavor in it. My husband asked them about it and they said "oh, we're out of strawberries" & walked away! He asked for a refund and they reluctantly gave it to him. They should have told us about the strawberries when we ordered our drink, instead of acting like we didn't know what we ordered. My husband's coffee and our sons Carmel Frap was off as well. All trash cans were overflowing and no place to throw your trash away. If you wanted to go to the bathroom you had to get "the code". The door to the bathroom was so sticking and the bathroom itself was dirty. The tables and chairs were dirty as well. We were surprised to see there was hardly any charging stations either, especially in today's tech savvy world. The worst Starbucks ever. When I went up and asked about my drink they said they were working on it and I continued to wait an additional 5 mins before they finally made it. This is my local Starbucks. Today I met a friend at 3pm to take advantage of the buy one get one free after 3pm deal. We each had a venti Carmel frappe. I came here for a meeting today and the service was awfully slow for a 4 PM hour. Also I cannot believe how much the price of the drinks went up. For a tall caramel brulee it used to be $3.95 and now it's $4.95 what's up with the dollar increase? I do like that there is plenty of room to sit either inside or outside but with the cold temperature right now you may as well just stay inside. It's that kind of day where you need the coffee to warm you up. It was quite loud inside so I'll have to remember that for future meetings to pick somewhere quieter. I don't want to shout to the person sitting across from me nor did I have to but I had to project my voice a little louder than normal. The drinks were good. Although I had a major headache afterwards but I won't attribute it to the coffee just a long day overall. Coffee and headaches don't mix so my recommendation is not to get a big coffee to cure your headache. Otherwise you should be good, or just order the tea to be on the safe side! read more

Starbucks is Starbucks. The drinks are usually made the same. This location was super cute. Right near Capital University, most of the patrons were college kids studying. I will be honest though, the floor was disgusting. It had food and dust and trash all over it. All of the chairs were all moved around (there were plenty of tables with no chairs at all.) It just sucks because the building was gorgeous and in a prime location for Bexley. Should take a little better care to make people want to come back (and not visit the Starbucks that is literally a block away.) read more

This place kind of sucks. I've been in here when I watched a barista cough into his hand and then make a drink. Today I ordered a drink with just a "light splash" of milk. I said it multiple times . The 21-year-old stared at me blankly. Of course my drink came back and was half milk. It was cold brew. Not an iced latte. I think what irked me was that she just stared at me blankly every time I said "only a little bit " of milk. Like I was speaking in a foreign language. But she understood--she just did not think it was important. This attitude, that I frankly get more and more at this place--is a sign of poor management. If the culture is such that baristas basically roll their eyes at customers when they ask for something--if your workers hate their jobs--then you're not running a good place of employment. read more

This Starbucks branch on E Main Street has very poor customer service 90% of the time I've gone there. They're always changing the set up and so customers get thrown off in how to enter for a line. Being a Deaf customer, I expect common sense courtesy of communicating with me by writing back and forth on a piece of paper. When I was waiting, some other customer who was behind me tried to cut my line and I glared at him like what's up? He snidely remarked something and I walked up in front of the cashier, he stepped back a few paces. Jesus, talk about impatience. Anyway, I paid $20 for a Peach Green Tea - and was given back 75 cents! What the hell? I scolded this young girl, writing on a piece of paper to Anna, you owe me more than that as I gave you twenty dollars. Her supervisor rolled his eyes and gave a stern look but they both and another co-worker all avoided eye contact with me and NONE of them bothered to explain what was going on as they giggled and smiled muttering amongst themselves. Incredulous, I wrote demanding to know what they were talking about. Finally, Anna admitted that she has no access to the locked drawer for cash. Then she asked me how much change I gave her. Again, gobsmacked of how she couldn't even remember how much she just gave me a few minutes ago! Finally, someone gave her a key and she gave me the proper change. To add salt to the wound, she didn't even ask my name and so after waiting for my drink, I had to read a couple of teas and drinks to make sure the right one was mine. On top of this, in the past, I have asked the manager to let me host DCC (Deaf Coffee Chat) and he smugly said, "You can host it once a month only inside the vault." Incredulous, I wrote back, there's going to be more than a just a few people --- he shrugged stating that's all he can offer. Never going back to this Starbuck branch ever again. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I end up at Starbucks and other coffee shops because Sweetie is a coffee nut. As in, the mere suggestion of our coffee maker giving out led her dad to deliver a new one to our door, because he knows what life without coffee does to her- and, by extension, to me, and I am his favorite (and only) son-in-law. Lately I have been drinking coffee more, because of the baby, and strangely Sweetie has been drinking a little less, at least at Starbucks. She loves the mango blackberry tea, and it is good. I generally get something cold as well, or perhaps a very adulterated coffee. I have to say Starbucks in general is not my favorite- the sizes annoy me, the wait annoys me, the prices and selection could be better. But it's everywhere, and handy, so we stop in sometimes. Tonight we were near this one, and I ran in to get us some thirst quenchers. The place used to be a bank, and is very impressive inside. Service was super friendly, though they were busy. I got our drinks and a chocolate croissant. The drinks were tasty, sweet, and way overpriced. The pastry was very good, though not big for the price. After waiting in line for an hour i was handed an empty bag where they said "we're out of what you ordered" and told me to go to the end of the line to get a refund. This location Use to be a bank-they still have the vault but there's no secret about starbucks; it cost too much however it's just so delicious you become addicted! Highly recommend everyone register their gift card at least once to work Toward gold card. Everything thinks they will never come enough to get one but it will happen. I also recommend prepuce chasing gift cards at giant eagle and earning fuel perks. And lastly I recommend ordering each drink separately as to earn one gold star for each drink (12th is free drink). The happy hour employees are rude! I spent two hours at this location on Christmas Day which was a very busy day, and received excellent customer service. When I arrived today at 5:30, thus location was surprisingly empty. the man on the register seemed irritated. I ordered my drink and paid for it, not realizing that I needed to request the "happy hour drink" I asked the employee if I would get two because it's happy hour he replied "if you want it." I was willing to let that go until I encountered rude employee number 2. The barista. Julian (originally from the German Village location) Called my name as she sat my beverage down, before I politely informed her that I ordered two I looked around to see if she was working on my other grande beverage. I noticed that she was working on a much larger size than I ordered. Her response to me was " IT's COMING, I Can only make one at a time." At the time of our conversation she was working on a Venti not my other grande. As I sat there observing others getting their beverages, another customer politely reminded the same barista that she was expecting a happy hour beverage, the barista response " IT's Coming!" Really nice place. Bright, spacious and clean. Not to mention comfortable. I find at many Starbucks patrons are squished together but this one they are spread out nicely. The service is prompt and the orders correct. I had a delicious and refreshing iced skinny latte and a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. I must say I was impressed with the quality of the bagel. As someone who has been to New York many times I know my bagels. It was large, soft, perfectly toasted, clearly fresh and flavorful. They Bexley Sbux has really gotten its shit together over the past year. The biggest and most notable change is the attitude of the people. They've gone from quiet and snarky to incredibly friendly every time. And don't even get me started on mobile ordering. I order on my phone, drive up the street, walk up to the counter, and TAKE MY DRINK. I literally don't have to speak to a single person -- it's an introvert's dream come true! Except they're so darn friendly and instantly recognize me and hand me my beverage with a smile. The interior (an old bank) is HUGE. It's a bit echo-y and cold, so I wouldn't recommend it for meetings or quiet time. And when school is out, this Sbux can get a little overrun with kids... that's when you do some mobile ordering and skip ALL THOSE SUCKAS IN THE LONG-ASS LINE. I love this location because it's in an old bank so it's super unique looking. Although I could go on about the design forever, it's pretty much your traditional starbucks in an old bank. You can also have coffee in a vault (woot). Here's the reason I posted this review: My bank secretly deactivated my debit card after I complained to them that it was soon to expire and they had yet to send my new card. I discovered this at 530am when I ordered my usual bagel and coffee. I had no cash, no checks, no cards, and I had to be at work by 6am. The girl, who could see I was confused and upset that my card was being declined told me she could give me the coffee on the house. To some, that's nothing, but at that moment it was the best service I could ask for from a coffee shop I go to every morning. You just don't get that from most big companies anymore. That's the difference of this branch from the rest of it's company, it still manages to be human beneath the green and white mermaid logo. You'll always get a sincere smile here, too. read more

If I didn't live next to this Starbucks, I probably wouldn't come here often. It's great if you want to/can sit outside (and everyone else isn't already doing the same), but the interior is SUPER loud. A little noise-dampening would go a long way. The service is fine, though sometimes the wait is a bit longer than you'd expect. (Well, than I'd expect--but then, I used to work at Starbucks, so maybe I am more impatient than others.) Today my drink got shuffled back and I wasn't able to get a seat outside because of my wait. The outdoor seating area is great, though.
