There are still a lot of frappes to try out! Such a nice surprise to find a gourmet coffee shop in Baguio! They do all methods of serving coffee…read moreincluding French Press and Siphon Method. The beauty of the shop is that they serve coffee that's native to the region, i.e., has very good strong taste! Plus aromatic. They also serve locally brewed beer, hence the 'brew & brew' in the name. It's similar to Belgian craft beer so definitely worth coming back to try all the various flavors. As for the food, right on! Absolutely delicious! And large servings! So have an appetite if you want to order. Otherwise it's a good place to just relax and have coffee or a beer. A good place to rest your feet from a long day of walking around Baguio City.

This is the perfect local eatery that has a variety of food that can't be found elsewhere. The pesto was the best I've had in my life. The owner took the time to educate us on coffee customs. The custom beer was perfect. I could not imagine another eatery like Goldfish. Fellow Baguio community, I humbly request you visit Gemma and the helpful, kind staff.

As we rambled down the streets of Baguio, one of the places that was highly recommended was Café by…read morethe Ruins. The eclectic menu was highly satisfying and we gorged on so many dishes. It is an iconic café, restaurant and bakery in Baguio that's long been beloved by both locals and visitors. The ambience has a rustic, artsy vibe and has played an important role in the city's cultural and culinary scene. It's called Café by the Ruins quite literally because it was built beside, and partly within, the ruins of a war-damaged building in downtown Baguio. After World War II, much of Baguio was destroyed during the battle to retake the city. This is why the café became a natural home for artists, writers, activists and thinkers, the space itself tells a story of survival and reinvention.
I thought that I wrote a review for this place years ago. I have been going here for about 30…read moreyears. It is an amazing restaurant with a historical location. All this time I thought the restaurant was located on Chuntug. During my younger days, Baguio was known for the clubs and casinos at a couple of the hotels. Things changed after a major earthquake, and I guess the name of the street for the Cafe By The Ruins also changed to Shuntug. I love all the architectural changes that the restaurant has made after the horrible fire they had. Of course the restaurant would have a wonderful ambiance, since the co-founders were artists and creative minded individuals. This is a location where memories are created with an unforgettable dining experience. They proudly served farm-to-table food before the social movement of using local ingredients in food preparation. In fact, the menu changes due to the seasonal fruits and vegetables. I encourage you to ask your server for their recommendations. They will know what's currently popular, and it is a great way to discover new items you might not have considered otherwise. I say that only because I would not have tried the duck pinikpikan, since I remembered how chicken pinikpikan was made. I'm glad we ordered it, because it was the perfect match with the rice that was served with it. The black ink pasta with fish rose cream sauce and crispy tapa are dishes that I'll be ordering again. I also asked what the server recommended for a dessert, and I'm hoping that they'll always have the strawberry pavlova on their menu. I also enjoyed Christine's Crepe. The Ice Ruins Coffee was a wonderful beverage with my desserts. This is a restaurant that I always go to whenever I go to Baguio.

I love the corned beef pandesal here -- it's a Philippines-specific baked good and it's a delightful snack to pair with any drink. I prefer it to any of the standard scones and bagels offered at most stores. Actually, one thing that's changed is the wi-fi. It's still free, but Starbucks no longer has its own dedicated network. You'll log into the mall's network which allows you one hour of free internet. After that, it's time to pay. Boo.

First off, shout out to Sushmita, Sheiltel and Danelle (apologies if the names are spelled incorrectly!) for their amazing customer service. My brothers and I were regulars here during our time in Baguio and several employees already remembered our names or partial bits of our regular beverages by the second visit! AMAZING people that work here! For a few days they had air conditioning issues and had to work in really warm temperatures. Even with the heat in the store, they were all still super friendly! BTW...my favorite drink in the Philippines is an Iced Almond Soy Latte! I really wish they had Almond syrup at the US stores. The chicken pastel is also a delicious food item. So if you are in Baguio and need that coffee break, the SM Baguio Starbucks store should be your spot!

Whether you're going for a dessert of full meal, they also serve rice meals, salads, pizza, and pasta. Went here after dinner so I asked the best-sellers instead. According to the staff, ribs and tapa is also a crowd favorite. Service is pretty fast despite the number of customers. They also have a branch in Camp John Hay.
