I ordered a Venti creme caramel frappuccino with almond milk and no whip cream. I have ordered this dozen of times. Usually it comes out a carnally color. I am completely allergic to to dairy. The first time it came out completely white and with whip cream so I couldn't even drink it. The second one came out completely white again, and when I took a sip I had to spit it out as it had normal milk in it. I've never had an issue with this drink before and even when I gave benefits of the doubt to have them remake it they still didn't get it right. Genuinely delightful baristas at this location, especially at the drive-thru. Placed a late afternoon mobile order with drive thru pick up, and it wasn't quite ready when I arrived. I used to be a regular here and Lakewood/Smokey Point attending daily. Very sad SB progression downwards. Now it's just an expensive drive thru coffee because the lobby is closed more than 1/2 the time. What happened to the ambiance and friendly neighborhood place? This location is a little harder to get to (traveling east from I-5) because it requires one to drive past it and make a u-turn and wander through the parking lot. The hassle factor and the fact that it used to close pretty early each evening was a deterrent for years. Tonight, I was passing through the area early enough I knew the store would be open, so I dropped by to find they have expanded their hours -- closing at 8:30 pm Fri-Sun (and 7:30 pm Mon-Thu)! I'm glad I stopped. The barristas were really nice -- even hand-delivering my pour-over. This store has a large footprint, but it's usually fairly quiet and very comfortable. Awful customer service. As a Starbucks partner I'm disappointed and really shocked about how my husband was treated at this location. He ordered an expensive drink from the neighboring store this morning. This was a big splurge for him to use up his stars but he's working 2 jobs after the birth of our child and really needed a kick me up. The drink was unfortunately made incorrectly and was missing ingredients. He called and told me how bummed he was because he was so looking forward to it. I encouraged him to go back after work to get it made correctly. The neighboring Lakewood store was closed by now due to short staffing . The barista working at this location told him he could get his remake but when he got to the window the dto/ dtw was extremely rude and accused him of just trying to get a free drink and then proceeded to charge him in full for his remake and say it's because it was the other stores mistake anyway. This is not how it works. This barista did not make the moment right. Completely unacceptable and so far from standard. I know first hand with all the craziness how rude customers can be and so to treat any customer , let alone a person who was being polite this awful is only making things worse for all the baristas. I don't usually go to Starbucks unless I'm on the road. When I am in this area, I always hit this one because it is close to other stops that I need to make. For a Starbucks, it is usually pretty good. Usually friendly, quick and decent drinks. However yesterday was horrible. The order taker at the drive thru was a little snippy, the line was SLOW and then to top it off, my drink was disgusting and I threw it away. I asked for a lot of ice and got only a few cubes, asked for coconut milk and got almond milk. Luckily I don't have a nut allergy. This is my daily Starbucks. I go in at 7am, and the place is always packed with regulars and the local police. Great service, regular employees, ALWAYS friendly. The one or two times they've messed up my order the server realized it before handing it over, and offered to fix it plus give me the extra beverage for free. Drive-thru is quick except on garbage pick-up days, as the dumpster is inconveniently located in the drive-thru. Somehow I've been stuck behind that garbage truck on more than a few occasions. This place is inside of Safeway. They do have bench that is tall like a bar and stools. There are also plenty of small tables to sit. But the place was kind of dirty and not cozy at all. Wow, nicest staff ever! My husband and I had a long night on a late ferry ride and ended up having to stay an extra night in Anacortes before heading back home to Ellensburg, and this stop put us in a much better mood because of all the friendliness. Order took an exceptionally long time to fill. During that time the barista stood and stared at me. She did not respond when i talked to her, just stared. It was creepy. They are also out of stoppers so coffee is all over my vehicle's interior. I came here and tried to get my points scanned cause I still had money on my Starbucks card and the cashier just took my debit car and walked away and didn't come back until after she ran my transaction and I told her I needed my card scanned because I still had money on my mobile gift card and she said she couldn't do anything after she already processed the transaction. Always clean, employees know the regulars by their drink if not by name and ALL of the employees if it's humanly possible make it a point to greet you when you enter. Seating is good, tables always clean. There are even a few over sized chairs (kinda spotted but better than sitting at a table). The bathrooms are very clean and serviced regularly.
