They are served in different qualities but trust me if you think you want 5 get 10! If you want 10 so you can share get 20! You'll thank me later. They are baked fresh when you order and it takes 5-10 minutes. Also don't wait till you get home to eat it, they are served piping hot and you'll want to eat a few before you even leave the parking lot. I've been wanting to try StarBread's Senorita Bread ever since a co-worker from the Bay talked about them and how he would snack on these on a car ride home from up north. I was excited that there was a StarBread close to us in OC and made it a point to give them a try. Once you walk in you're greeted by the comforting scent of fresh baked bread. The people ahead of me in line ordered 50 pc. each so I bumped my modest 10 pc. up to 20 pc., and I'm glad I did, because I ate two in one sitting and needless to say - when I brought them into work they went super quick. They're kind of a like a sweet, butter roll - similar to Okayama's cookie salt and butter - except the it doesn't have that cookie top. These are also smaller and easier to eat multiples - especially when fresh out of the oven. The price point is also more cost effective for parties. I also had the chance to try the malsadas. I was a fan of the cream cheese one, but the other ones weren't so great filling wise. They all seemed a tad too sweet (guava and coconut cream) or lacking in filling (ube). First and foremost this review is only 3 stars because my family comes here and has pleasant experiences and the lady that was rude to me attempted to redeem herself at the end. When I walked in it was 5:20 there was one lady who already ordered and was waiting, and one person in front of me that hadn't ordered yet. The person in front of me ordered senorita bread (i think he ordered 30), and I ordered 60, got a pre package of the dulce de leche bread and one chocolate malasada. They quoted me 20-30 minutes, I waited 50 which wasn't a big deal (I worked in fast food so i understand that it can be frustrating to get busy right as you're about to close). But then 6 people walked in after me and ordered various amounts of senorita bread, 4 of them left before me including a lady that ordered 55 pieces, a guy that ordered 15, and another lady that ordered 60 pieces. The lady that ordered 60 pieces kept complaining about how long her order was taking and she was in and out of the store in less than 15 minutes. I figured that since I had already waited 45 minutes I would ask for an update on my order. When I did this I said "Is there an update on my order? I ordered 60." The lady gave me this confused look and rudely asked "60? Well when did you order?" I explained to her that I had been waiting since 5:20 and all she said was "it's in the oven" then proceeded to walk away so I went to sit back down. The lady came back out of the kitchen to say "you know you ordered a lot and we make it to order so that's why it's taking so long." I just responded "That's fine, but there's been 4 people that walked out with more than enough to fill my order and i'm still sitting here, so I wanted another update on when mine would be done." She came out of the kitchen 5 minutes later with my order and gave me 3 malasadas instead of one which was nice but doesn't excuse the fact that she was extremely rude when all I did was ask for an update on my order. Apparently they'll only give you a large order quickly if you're a Karen.. You can do what you want with that information :) read more

Thanks to Yelp reviews, I found this small bakery, which is famous for its senorita bread. There wasn't a long line when I visited the shop on Wednesday afternoon, but the place was busy with people continuously coming to pick up senorita breads. The senorita breads were just beyond my expectations. They were hot, soft, buttery, and delightfully sweetened--perfect for my taste. And they were a steal! It was $3 for 5 senorita breads. They are hiring first off. They need help. Service was not great at all. The lady clearly was overwhelmed. We said hello and she didn't even greet us back. She just took out order. No Bueno! Service is everything. The star bread came out super fresh, actually too fresh. Our box was tearing apart from the heat which I thought was horrible. All the butter melted and just ripped the box. These are not the boxes they have on display let me say and the boxes that they used to use. These were terrible. We drove over an hour band it was my first time here. Randomly found this bakery on Yelp and the senorita bread caught my attention. This bakery is tucked into the corner of a plaza and serves up some yummy bread/pan de sal. Plenty of parking in the plaza and you just follow the aroma of freshly baked bread. The prices & options are clearly displayed. The ladies in front are super friendly and happy to answer any questions. I explained I was new to seniorita bread and they were kind enough to give us a sample. Warm, soft, slightly sweet, buttery, bready delights they are! I ended up buying a few to go and some pre-packaged cream cheese filled ones too. I recommend sticking with the original however, as I think the bread deserves to be appreciated on it's own! Paulina was super kind and even gave us a sample of one of their best sellers: ube square. She described it best, it's like eating a cupcake without all the sugary frosting. Delicious! This bakery also has pandan squares, donuts, and croissants. I highly recommend stopping by~! This place is a gem! So let me start front he beginning. I tasted a senorita bread my sister brought. Her boss bought it, and I tasted it, and although cold. Still good. I decided to go with my mom to this location, since it's closer to were we were coming from. Inside you see an array of donuts, filipino pasties and bread. I was here for one thing though, the senorita bread. I bought 5 to try it fresh with my mom. I tasted one and regret not getting more, and so i went back to buy 10 more. They are about the size of my hand. I have small hands by the way. They are soft and fresh off the oven. With sugar on top that melts. Texturally it's great, and flavor is so simple. I thoroughly enjoy it! It was like these cheese breads my brother bought at a bakery years ago, minus the sweet cream cheese in the middle. I came back again and bought 30 for a thanksgiving party and their were only 5 left. I was so glad I got to take it home. This place is a must try!! Especially for the senorita bread. I'll be back again for the donuts. The customer service could use some work. The lady wasn't very friendly. A smile goes a long way. I brought some 1doz donut and malasada and the oil used was old, I can taste it; makes the food bad. Don't reuse your oil.

The malasada's are not as good as the ones you find in Hawaii (obviously), but they hit the spot if you are craving some fluffy dough of goodness. The Senorita bread is hot, buttery, sweet, and slightly undercooked, at least ours were. I now see why they are a hit, and everyone loves them! Location // Starbread is possibly located in the greatest dining shopping center in North OC. Zankou, Sarkis, Ding Tea & Starbread make for quite the dining experience. Parking is tight, but there is plenty of it even if you decide to park a little bit further out and walk it. Notes // Senorita bread is sold in groups of 5, from 5 pieces up to 100 (I think), so make sure you know about how many you are looking to get. OmG, the señorita bread is so scrumptious and such a great deal, $3 for a bag of 5 pcs. The bread is "always" served freshly-baked. Be forewarned however, it is served "hot" not warm so either you let it cool off a bit or make sure you have napkins to grab the bread with. I wiki'd what Señorita bread is and this was what I found: Señorita bread, also known as Spanish bread or pan de kastila, is a Filipino bread roll characteristically oblong or cylindrical in shape with a traditional sweet filling made of breadcrumbs, butter or margarine, and brown sugar. It is usually yellowish in color due to the use of eggs and butter. The exterior is sprinkled with breadcrumbs. It is one of the most popular types of bread in the Philippines, commonly eaten during merienda (snack). Not sure if Starbread's filling is made of butter only or if they add cheese too, to me it tasted like they added a little bit of cheese. Sorry, no pictures to share because both times we've been here, we just devoured these yummy rolls as soon as we sat in the car. Kid you not, I went to StarBread for the first time for their viral Señorita Bread on a Sunday and went back at least 3 times that same week. They have a nice selection of baked goods to try, from donuts to bread rolls, but from what I've seen, most people come for the señorita bread. It comes by the piece and for my first visit I ordered a box of 15 and at least 5 were gone before I even made it out of the parking lot lol since then my orders have only gotten larger and larger since I have introduced my family to these delicious, buttery sweet rolls. They taste like a hot yeast roll with a surprise butter & sugar coating on the bottom and rolled into the dough. The service here is always fast and friendly. The longest I've had to wait was maybe 25 minutes but it was Christmas Eve so I wasn't too surprised. It is a small brick and mortar storefront with just enough room for a few patrons to stand inside and wait for their yummy treats. The location is in the far right corner of a crowded strip mall, it's easy to miss if you don't know where you're going. All in all, I love this place and have quickly become a regular. They have a nice variety that includes regular donuts, mochi donuts, malasadas, pan de sal, cake squares, and cupcakes. They make their offerings in ube, chocolate, dulce de leche, and a rotation of flavors that include limoncello, guava, pandan, nutella, strawberry, red velvet, and more. Their prices are competitive with bakeries that offer the same items, and I would give them 5 stars if they had the other flavors on a regular basis. I was drooling over their food porn on Instagram and one day I saw they were coming to OC! I was on it stat! I've always been able to avoid any clusterfuck lines SCORE!!! The service is always great! Everything I've had here is delicious. The star of the show is the Senorita bread. They come out piping hot and you see people killing them in the parking lot LOL. You can easily eat 3 or 4 on the spot that's why they have so many size options just for this reason. They even have prepackaged flavored ones. Just pop those in the microwave and you're good to go. Their pandan and Ube frostless cupcakes are crack! Another place with just the right amount of sweetness without giving you a sugar rush. No complaints, just wish they had one in Irvine! Located in a small outside strip mall in Anaheim off of Ball Road, lies the best Senorita Bread in the OC. I've been here almost every other Sunday because I can't seem to get enough of their famous signature "Senorita Bread." The bread is soft and pillowy; it tastes like there's something creamy inside but there really isn't anything inside. Its actually hollow but it's still soooooo gooooood especially when you bite into it when it's still warm from the oven. They look like crescent rolls but they are not crescent rolls. So eat some as soon as you get it! I always come in with my oldest daughter and son and we eat about 3 pieces each in the car I think the prices are reasonable starting at 5 pieces for $2, 10 pieces for $4 and so on. It goes up $2 for every 5 pieces. There are also other bakery choices: strawberry cream cheese Senorita Bread sold in a pack of 3, and a display case with ube donuts, cupcakes... I'm not sure what else because I didn't really pay attention to that (I'll do better next time I come in) since I was here for the Senorita Bread. Starbread is more common in Northern California. My daughter goes to college up there and she says that all the parties that happen usually have Starbread's Senorita Bread. So when I heard from my high-school friend that they opened a location nearby (Anaheim) I was pretty excited to go there. And it certainly lived up to the hype. My family and I LOVED IT!!! The first time we came, we only ordered a box of 40 for our family of 5 and I got another box of 20 for my brother. The box of 40 was sooooo not enough. So every time we've come in, we end up buying more in increments of 10 with the last time being getting a box of 55. I've shared some with my friends at work... they like it but some of them think that Orange County/ Anaheim's too far to go for "just bread" . I'm willing to drive for good food. I recently discovered this bakery while reading through one of the Yelp recommendations. I still can't believe being born and raised in the SF Bay Area that have never heard of this bakery chain. One recent morning after work, I decided to stop by and check this place put. Thankfully it was very quiet on a weekday morning and there was no long line to wait in. I was greeted warmly by a young lady who cheerfully took my order after advising her this was my first time at any Starbread Bakery and eating señorita bread. I finally decided to order a 50 piece box for my family, and a 20 piece box for my co-workers to try. I also ordered a couple of the Nutlella filled ones as well. I was advised that they would be preparing my orders fresh, except for the Nutella ones. The wait time was under ten (10) minutes. After receiving my order, I knew I had to try a freshly baked one right our of the oven and so may other reviews have suggested and raved about. The other Yelpers were correct: these were so delicious warm, soft and just sweet enough where I could see myself consuming large amount before leaving the parking lot. I decided to lock the boxes up in my vehicle's trunk to reduce the temptation to eat more. When I got home, the señorita bread had cooled quite a bit. But this gave me the opportunity to try them at just room temperature. They were still great to eat. And I was able to try one that was a couple of days old. Still pretty soft and fresh and still very tasty. The Nutella filled ones were good but slightly disappointing in the lack of Nutella filling. It seems like it was brushed ever so slightly with Nutella. Like my wife said, she would just dip or spread some Nutella we keep at home on the señorita bread if the mood struck her. This past Saturday, I brought the entire nuclear family here purchase two boxes of fifty (50) each. Everyone wanted to try them right out of the oven and everyone really enjoyed them that way as well. I have been asked to describe what senorita bread tastes like. Our youngest son described it the best: think of the freshly baked rolls the Texas Roadhouse serves their diners, but better. The base dough is similar in taste and texture to the yeast dough used for sugar and glazed doughnuts. Also, if you manage to have a few señorita breads that have managed to survive not being eaten for a couple of days, they stay fairly fresh and do not get stale within a day like your regular doughnuts do! read more

When I first heard that there was a StarBread bakery in SoCal, I almost lost my ish. Every time our friends from up north come down to visit, they gift us with the senorita bread and we're always left wanting more. I've had it fresh up there when I'm in the area on the rare occasion, but no they're just a hop, skip, and a 25 min car ride away! Kid you not, we ordered 100 the first time I came in. Was so buttery sweet, we ate like 2 in the car right away. They're never better when freshly baked, kinda like krispy kremes right off the line, or pandesal straight out of the oven, but the senorita bread only needs to be reheated a tad to get right back up to awesome sauce. The very first time we came, the bread wasn't AS good as I know their NorCal one was, but I've heard that now, there's practically on difference. Prob needed a little while to get their senorita legs goin. They do have other stuff here, but we come for nothing other than the Senorita. Service - Not too bad. The menu isn't extensive so there's not much for me to decide on, but the bakery staff was nice and friendly. Parking - Parking is decent, tho I can see it getting a little crowded during rush times. COVID - Physical distancing is enforced, and they limit how many customers can be inside, plus there's markers all the way out the door and then some, so you know where to be...and wear your friggin mask. read more
