With no shortage of amazing Indian food in the Lynnwood and Everett areas, we can't help but want…read moreto try them allllll . So when the opportunity arose to share a Friday night dinner with family, we opted to try 5 Rivers Indian Cuisine, a family owned and run restaurant in Everett on Evergreen Way near 4th Avenue, specializing in Punjabi and Mediterranean cuisine! They have lots of amazing options to choose from. While nothing is specifically labeled vegan, they do have many vegetarian options I found them to be very accommodating to our vegan dietary needs. I've almost never met a Grape Leaf dish I didn't like so I had to try their version. They did an amazing job with the aesthetics, using a creamy vegan tahini sauce to really bring this dish to that next level. I also ordered Baba Ghannoj. Surprisingly, they advised their pita bread is not vegan but they gladly substituted roti instead, super flavorful and great mix of textures dancing around on the palette. For a main dish, I heard their "Vegetarian Thali" dish calling to me (but thankfully, it didn't call me Seymour .. .. .. ), giving me the opportunity to try a myriad of flavors and combinations. Given that a couple of components weren't vegan, they were graciously able to accommodate .. and provide me with a fully vegan ncombination of (from left to right) Aloo Chana, Dal Maharanji, Aloo Gobi, Basmati Rice and more delicious roti bread. Everything was delicious and super filling, I had to take a lot home with me. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend dropping by to try their flavorful mixture of Punjabi and Mediterranean inspired dishes!

It offers an extensive menu, and for what you pay, the portions are very generous! Our favorite dishes are the mango curry, lamb vindaloo, and the classics like butter chicken and tikka masala. We always order some form of appetizer. We have had the samosas as well as the hummus and tabouleh, and everything has been delectable! I always order their baba Ganoush. The smoky, roasted eggplant is savory and has great depth to the flavor profile. Our other favorite is the garlic naan. It is seasoned to perfection and roasted beautifully! Another thing I appreciate is they offer a spice level for your order. Spicy is a relative term, so I appreciate having a range to work with. 5 Rivers recently renovated their dining area, and it is very beautiful and clean. Service is always friendly, too. Overall we are very happy to have found such a gem nearby!

Why did it take me this long to learn about this spot? i've driven by countless times and only…read morerecently tried the tandoori chicken via cousin's tip. Thoroughly impressed with the Tandoori chicken and mint chutney; so far - my only intro to this newly discovered spot. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. next visit: I ordered an 8 oz mint chutney (different than than the chutney in small container) and have to say a little too spicy for me. Though the extreme spice level loving mom was rather attached to it. During the holiday break, I made a minor trek from Greenwood into the buffet setup; location is great since it's right off the freeway exit. Stepped inside to a colorful variety of options. Honed in on the chicken curry - I was surprised it wasn't heavy on salt & acidic tomatoes. Overall it's a perfect chicken curry - I've on the prowl for about 5 decades. The best curry ensemble i've encountered outside India. The gravy consistency is similar to homemade curry sauce...never too thick (smoothie style) Tandoori chicken showed up a little later in the buffet scene - though, the take out version is a little juicier. Raita is thoughtfully prepared with cucumbers and light spices. Surprised to see both naan and butura are included in the buffet. Butura bread goes well with the channa masala which has a nice subtle flavor. But, I feel it could showcase more interesting/pungent spices and garbanzo beans need to be cooked a little longer to make them softer/easier to digest. Restaurant setting: spacious/comfortable with booths right next to windows! Already planning the next visit for some more of this local curry goodness.

They were careful about my gluten allergy and had plenty of options. Nikki was our server and she was friendly. Our group tried Indo-Chinese and they loved everything. I tried the peshawari chicken. It was nice and creamy. Nikki did tell us that it was only one big piece of chicken which was helpful because we were ordering family style. We still ended up ordering it because the rest had Indo-Chinese (not GF). I'd be back to try some other things on their menu.

I love the music playing in the background, and the Mumbai themed décor is so unique and thoughtfully done. It really adds to the whole experience. Coming to the food, I specifically went for the happy hour chaat platter. I reached around 6:56 PM, and the platter is only available from 5 to 7 PM. Initially, I could not find it on the menu, and our assigned server was different. However, Rohan recognized us from our previous visits and came over. When I mentioned I was there just for the chaat platter, he kindly checked and found the menu for us. He let us know it would take about 20 minutes to prepare, which we were completely fine with. The platter arrived in about 20 to 25 minutes, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Everything from the bhel puri, pav bhaji bites, samosa chaat, to the sandwich was delicious, flavorful, and very satisfying. The chai was also really good. Highly recommend this place for both the vibe and the food. We will definitely keep coming back.

Mysore Bonda was okay, bigger than usual which means there were a couple spots inside where the batter was under fried. The peanut chutney with it was very good. We liked the Chicken 65 Biryani, the rice was flavorful, the Chicken 65 wasn't the usual but tasted good. The standout item for us was the Raagi Mudda w/ Mutton curry. It wasn't the typical Karnataka style Raagi Mudda, we were told it was Andra style, we loved it. We also got Boondi Laddoo, and mixture to go. We loved the Boondi Laddoo, the mixture was okay.

I have visited this place at least half a dozen time in the last year. The service has always been fantastic. Very friendly staffs and they genuinely care about the customers no mater how busy this place is. Always order at the counter and pick up the food later. They offer weekend buffet - with the options they have provided - one of the best value for money buffet available now. There are enough varieties on the offering. Quality was great - food was flavorful as well. I did order ala carte as well. Tried the biriyanis and the indo-chinese options. And their veg & non-veg combo is a real deal. Served with roti, rice, 2 curries and a dessert. It's just $10. Portion is really good, more than enough for one person. That's one of my favorite options on their menu. It's a very spacious restaurant - well maintained. Cleanliness deserves special mention as well. Quite an ambiance as well. I have liked whatever I have tried from here for that last one year. Hopefully they will maintain the quality for longer!
