We saw someone post about this place on Instagram and my kids were so excited we drove a whole hour to go here today. We noticed when the splash pad started the water there was an awful smell, somewhere between a public restroom and musty laundry. We let our kids play but felt more and more unsure. After 20 minutes we couldn't take it anymore so we left. Needless to say we should have acted sooner. Our kids have had high fevers, bad headaches and sore tummies for the last 8 hours now. We are closely monitoring them and hope we don't have to take them to the E.R. be careful with your kids and not sure what's going on here but we had other parents mention the stench to us as well. I can't imagine our kids are the only ones who got sick because of this. Please look into this city of Stanton. read more

Extremely hesitant to review so as to keep this location discreet but this is one of the coolest parks we have been to in a long while. Come early to avoid the crowds but it looks like a new development and a large one too! Easy to find, great parking, bathrooms, and an amazing structure. It was a dream come true for this parent. By 11 AM, the park did definitely start filling up. Most people were considerate and wearing masks to be covid-polite. I love the no sand feature.. and just so much to do. Lots of space.. tennis courts, good amount of space to run, fields, skate park.... Definitely haven't anything of this caliber around where we are from. LOVED this park and highly recommend. Love the initial look of the park. My 2 year old LOVES trains and so we thought this would be an awesome experience/park for him. Sadly it's not really made for his age and the area that is suppose to be for his age group is so tiny and there isn't much to it either. They need a better area for 2-5 years olds. Also, there is a big open ledge that any kid, even the kids that are of age for the large train area, could fall off of and get seriously hurt. I have been searching for the perfect park for my daughters near Buena Park and this park came close to being perfect I tell you! It's a wonderful park with a huge train shaped playground and also a mini one for the smaller kids AND has a water area too! There also an office there to inquire anything about the park or any concerns which I liked. They also have really nice Picnic shelters for events and a variety of areas with benches or tables to sit down and eat or just hang out. My daughter loves it here. But all she loves are the swings. And the slides. Oh, and the spider web ropes, or whatever they're called. And if she had it her way, the splash pad would be part of our daily routine. (She's an 18-month old, adventuresome, ready to play at a moment's notice.) For now, she's not yet concerned with the basketball court or the very cool skate park. (Someday she'll grow curious, I'm sure, but not yet.) She also doesn't worry herself at all with the baseball field or the pavilions; however, little does she know, her second birthday party will be held in one of those covered, party structures. What I like, though, is the spacious parking lot, the special events open to everyone, the fact that the park is monitored and safe, and that, quite shockingly, it's all free. Everyone really seems to love it here, and if you've ever visited at all, you'd know why. read more

This park is so great for the kids. There's plenty of stuff for them to do. I love the theme of the park too. The train is pretty awesome. Another bonus is that their restrooms are so clean. Probably the cleanest restroom I've seen for a park. Tons of stalls and toilet paper! lol. There's lots of parking also. I'm hoping they can open the splash pad soon. One of the coolest public playgrounds I've ever been to. My family and I are from the Bay Area and we were on a Disney vacation. On our last day, we decided to find a nearby public park before we hopped on I-5N for the 400 mile jouney home. Found this park on yelp. And WOW. The kids had so much fun, to the point where my 3 year old twins said they thought this park was MORE fun than Disneyland itself. Go figure. I spent $300 on one-day admission for them to get into Disney and $0 Stanton Park. *Shrug* The play structure is shaped like a locomotive and it is HUGE. Another playground is shaped like a water tower and they are connected by a bridge. There's a water/splash zone adjacent to the playgrounds. Plenty of parking and surrounding grass area. Wow how times change! I Remember 10 years ago when I was in high school, I would come here to play tennis with my brother and thinking it was a little dirty. I recall there being a golf driving range here as wel. Fast forward 10 years later and this place is night and day different. I love this park and how they've upgraded it. There is a huge area for children to play as well as a little water area where they can play. There's many benches for families to sit down on and pitch up an easy up. The community center is very nice and clean. We had our relatives party here and it accommodated easily 80-100 people. The inside is well air conditioned and is quite nice . The space is open and very welcoming. The landscaping here is pleasing to the eye. They added so many features to make it very appealing to families and locals. I think now they even offer tennis lessons at the tennis courts. I had an overall very positive impression here and we'd definitely come back to host a party in the future. I think the only thing they need to work on is the quality of the restrooms because it was a little dirty when I went inside and they don't have the amenities I was expecting. read more

I don't know how new this park is but it seems pretty new.. They have a playground that is toddler safe, and also a larger playground for the bigger children. There's so much clean grass and picnic area with a roof over it for the so much needed good ol shade. The restrooms are definitely FAMILY approved. They have plenty of stalls and sinks which are all fairly clean. (That is the women's restrooms I am speaking of, I can't say much about the male's restroom since I've never been in there) They have plenty of parking spaces, but I did notice it getting pretty full on a Saturday. Hidden gem!! This park is BEAUTIFUL & has everything you could imagine to keep your kids entertained! Aside from the usual playground, basketball courts and grassy areas, Stanton Central Park has a skatepark, a water splash pad area and even a community center! I especially enjoyed how they have reservable shelter areas that are completely covered. Booking a shelter was fairly easy, however, they do require that reservations be made in person. City of Stanton residents can rent the picnic shelters for $75 for 6 hours of use and there is a $100 Deposit. The non-resident rate is $100 for 6 hours of use and there is a $150 Deposit. We rented the shelter from 12-6 and cleanup time was included in the rental from 6-7pm. Our guests were also very impressed at how beautiful and clean the park was. The kids enjoyed the playground areas and splash pad areas. Would definitely host another party here in the future. read more

I don't think this Play ground is that safe for younger kids due to some of the older kids going backwards up on the slides and doing many dangerous things that would cause accidents. And also you can't really see where your baby is going since the slides are covered and taller and way up with blind spots. It's such a shame because the park itself is so nice it's just the kids that are in are bad. I definitely don't recommend this park to younger kids. I already had to yell at bunch of older kids to watch out for little ones. What are their irresponsible parents doing ??!! read more

It's a nice park, people are friendly at times. They have a lot of summer events: Concert in the park, movie night, farmers market. Great to walk around to get some exercise. The park remains clean, haven't been the restrooms but I'm hoping they're clean too. The park just needs more covered areas especially when since it's been so hot. read more

I searched for nice parks to have my lil ones bday... after first reserving Harry Dotson, I came across this gem and inquired more about it. So glad the ladies at the Stanton Center were accommodating and let me switch it without any hassle. There's plenty of parking! They have 3 picnic areas to which you can reserve. 1st n 3rd spot holds 50 and the 2nd (middle) hold 40. Each spot has a sink and a good size bbq. Behind that is an exercise area. Then in front, you have a nice lawn area that you can chill n watch the kids run around on or just watch them while they play at the playground. They have areas for toddlers, lil kids and big kids. The restrooms are conveniently located near the playground. The bathrooms are clean and well kept. The community center is there too which also has games inside. After you're done with your party, you will have to call the ppl at the community center whom will bring you a broom and pan to tidy up the area where you had the party to get your deposit back. Stanton residents, $100 deposit and $75 to rent. Non residents, $100 deposit and $100 to rent. Rent time is 6 hours total... the last hour is for you clean. I will definitely come back to this park! read more

This park is amazing! First time I brought my kiddos was during Halloween. There were tons of kids here in a happy and safe environment that were able to play carnival games, a costume parade contest and enjoy a show! The kiddos scored on some free pumpkins at the end of the event as well. After that initial trip, we've gone to this park several times. We've always seen police on duty for safety measures and they're usually posted up next to the skate park. The park has this amazing train playground that my kids love! It's very roomy, with a lot of shade, areas for toddlers to play along with the bigger kids, a lot of areas for the people to sit down and bathrooms available! This park basically has it all and it's really well kept and new. Hopefully the city of Stanton keeps it this way because the people frequent this location from far and away. I respect this park and value its visitors. All of whom wish their kids a nice and safe place to play. Cheers! read more

This is a beautiful new park that was very needed in the community. I love the amenities the running/walking trail with the exercise equipment, sculpture, skate park, water park, all the swings and play equipment is great. They also have horseshoes, tennis, basketball courts everything. It is a really awesome park. The only thing this park is lacking is proper parental supervision. I was at the water park with my nephew, he is 8 and has autism so he is very carefully supervised. While we were there were a couple of boys that were older (11 - 12) that were being little jerks. I standing off to the side this little brat was intentionally seemed to be trying to get me and a Mom wet while we were taking pictures of the kids. I said something to the Mom about this and agreed; she told me that this same kid and his buddy had called her 3 year old a dumbass. We chatted and I let her know some of the other parks in the area that she might like.I gathered James to go and decided to stop off at the office. I described that there were a couple of bullies and asked that they look keep an eye out. They went straight out and then quickly reapproached me and asked me to point out the brats (my words not theirs. I aso referred them to the other Mom. basically sorry not sorry a told on the bullies - their partents were nowhere to be found. I know that the park can't control this type of non-parenting, but they can hopefully take a firm stance on disalloying bullying so everybody can enjoy this great resource. So I will go back again and see how bullies are handled and add the coveted 5th star if warranted. read more

I was here on opening day, and the following day with my son while visiting my sister who lives in the neighborhood. The park is great! There is lots of wide open space, basketball courts, tennis,Skate park, train themed jungle gym, little kiddie area and splash pad and picnic areas. As modern as most of the park is, the restrooms could have used an upgrade as it looks like a park restroom from the 80's. Over all, great place to spend some family time. Such an awesome playground with one of the best splash pads around! The playground is huge and suitable for all ages including those fun parents who like to chase their kids up and down the train. The splash pad is the best with so many features. Everything in the playground and splash pad is set up so nicely that even during the busy summer months, it never seems too crowded for kids to play comfortably. The park itself also has tennis courts, skatepark, basketball court, walking trail, shaded benches and tables for group parties, exercise equipment, and plenty of parking. First time at this wonderful park! Not only is it a nice and clean park, it also offers a beautiful picnic area, skate park and a splash pad. Fyi* Park Hours: Monday - Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.. Saturday & Sunday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Interactive Water Play Area ( Splash Pad) opens Memorial Day! I cannot wait to check that out this summer! My family loves Stanton Central Park ever since its opening. It's super clean, with a lot of amenities for being a public park. The tennis courts are clean and spacious, although it does get full very fast. We loved the splash pad during the summer, pre-COVID, except the water is sometimes very cold and the kids didn't last very long there. It's recirculated water, so although I heard the splash pad opened again recently, we're not comfortable having the kids play in recirculated water at this time. The food area is also clean and spacious, so is the exercise equipment in the race track. Although we don't even live in Stanton, we're willing to drive the distance to this park because it's very much worth it for us. read more
