Great service with a very easy online site that let's you determine exactly what you will pay and the 2 hour time window you want for the crew to show up. I have a few caveats based on my experience. 1.) I originally scheduled to have a sofa and loveseat cleaned, but when the guys came out and looked them over, they warned that the wet cleaning method they use could ruin the fabric on the couch. So, that was scratched from the original plan, Be warned this may happen to you. 2.) Although the e-mail and video you get may give you the impression that the crew moves everything for you, I'd advise doing as much of this in advance as possible. They'll ask if their's anything you need them to move but won't go out of their way really, This is fine as far as it goes but older customers may need more assistance. 3.) I opted for an anti bacterial spray that they can apply. In Houston, that's definitely a good option. However, after the cleaning and the spraying, you'll want to leave the house for a few hours, at least two or three, to both let the carpet dry a bit and the chemicals to dissipate. If you don't, you may find yourself coughing a lot. 4.) The carpet is wet for several hours, 8 maybe max. So, be prepared to let your carpet dry for that long and get around in old socks for awhile. Again, if you can be away while it drys, that is even better. Don't plan on having company right away. I hope that helps. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The first crew did a terrible job. The carpet didn't look any different than before they cleaned it. I called and spoke to someone in customer service who told me several things that were done incorrectly and assured me that he would send a "Crew Chief" out the next day to make things right. The Crew Chief was rude and argumentative. He kept saying he wanted to see the receipt to make sure they were cleaning the exact same areas that were cleaned the day before - the rooms were still clearly wet and you could see the lines where the steam machine has gone over the carpet. He also said, "This carpet is trashed. It needs to be replaced. We can't do anything with it." That might be true, as there were several tenants in the house before us, but only the landlord can replace the carpet. I just want it clean, so my family can be healthy. They said the carpet would be dry in 6-8 hours. It's now 4 days later, and my bedroom is still wet and smells horrible. The dining room is dry but leaves a slimy residue on our feet when we step on it. After paying $300 for a "professional" job, we are going to have to rent a machine and re-clean everything ourselves. read more

Tile cleaning service was adequate. Our house was recently painted and this was our final project. After the technicians left, I discovered that one of them left a dirty hand print on one of our recently repainted walls. I also discovered that the technicians severely scraped the paint of the door frame in the bath room presumably when moving or using their equipment. It was so badly damaged the technician must have noticed doing this and should have brought this to our attention. Stanley Steemers technicians need to treat their customers homes with much more respect. I will not use their services ever again! read more

The guys came out the last 20 minutes of the 3 hour window, but I had been called that they were running behind. They were courteous, came in, very quickly steamed the carpets and left. It took about 30 minutes to do 2 large rooms and a large area rug. Some spots came to the surface with the cleaning and he told me he tried everything but couldn't get them out. Strangely, as soon as they left, I sprayed them and they disappeared. They did an ok job...but honestly the carpet looked worse when they left. read more

They really need 4.5 stars. I live in a rural area and I would highly recommend them. I had a air duct cleaning.The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that they were a hour late and I had to call the 1-800 number to determine status. I understand jobs run over but my window at from 12 to 4 and they arrived at 5;15. The guys were very through and professional and I will call them to clean my carpets later this year. There are cheaper services but you typically get what you pay for. read more

Way exceeded my expectations! They cleaned the whole 2nd floor of carpet (16 years old) and it looks as good as it can get at this point. They even folded up and moved my heavy treadmill which I did not expect and they moved all the night stands - again did not expect that level of detail. I had a horrible experience with Stanley Steemers. I was quoted different prices between the (800) number and the crew that actually showed up. They didn't move any furniture and I had to have a more seasoned crew come back to do the job again. It hasn't been 6 months and my carpet doesn't look that it was ever cleaned. They even charged me an extra charge to spray some type of chemical that was suppose to deter the dog I have now that is house trained not to pick up on the past dog urine smell. Everyday I seem to see more urine stains pop up. I spent almost $300 having my loft area and (2) bedrooms cleaned and my carpet looks like it has never been cleaned. I'm currently looking for another carpet cleaning service that's when I came across this page to post my review or I would have done it sooner. Never again will I use them or suggest them. Chris and Gary did a fine job. They arrived on schedule and were very professional. I showed them the areas to be cleaned and they went straight to work and were done quickly with a minimum of disruption or annoyance while I worked downstairs. Chris was very professional pointing out some difficult spots, which I knew about but I was glad to see the carpet looking refreshed and like new again. Worth every penny!!! I had the works done, tile & grout, carpet, air vents, and furniture. It was a bit pricey, but sooo worth every penny!! Not only did they do a fantastic job, they even cleaned up after themselves. The two service-guys that came to my house (Joe and Marcio) were extremely curteous, and careful with our furniture. Crew was a little low budget for Stanley Steemer. They cleaned my upholstery and kept trying to up charge me for different services. I paid $48.00 for the assistant to deodorize my sofa and this consisted of spraying a solution like "Febreze". This is WAY TOO MUCH MONEY for spraying some solution that is no better than Febreze. I'm the guilty one here because I let them do it. Costly mistake. Stanley Steemer used to be SO much better. Very disappointed!!! read more

My son and his future wife were coming to Houston to visit. We hadn't had our carpets cleaned in the 5 years we have lived here, so we called Stanley Steamer. My wife said it would cost cost 169 dollars to clean 3 rooms stairway and 1 hallway, which was ok with me, but she also had them clean a 2 section couch that we picked up for free and not in great condition which cost an additional 200 dollars, so the cost was closer to 400 dollars which really pissed me off, because it cost more to clean a couch than it did for 3 rooms , hallway and a stairway....they did a good job, but not 400 dollars worth.... read more

I thought Jimmy and Anthony did the job cleaning our carpets. But on the upper floor, they only cleaned areas where they did not have to move any furniture. Based upon the TV advertising that Stanley Steamer moved furniture (showing larger pieces of furniture being moved), my expectation was they would clean under the beds. They did not. In the game room, I expected to move a small couch. They did not, until I moved the couch and showed them what they missed. I had to supervise them doing the living room to insure all requested furniture was moved (couch and chairs). I called customer service to complain that I was told when I ordered service all furniture would be moved as long as breakable items were removed from the piece of furniture. Customer Service told me that they do not move furniture that is oversized. I told customer service that nothing was oversized that I expected to be moved. They would have moved ZERO furniture had I not supervised there work. We were sold on "clean protector" by the service providers as an upsell. I did not see the application for the stairs and gameroon. But when I saw the application for the living room, I thought what a complete waist of money. I could get better coverage with an aerosol can from the hardware store. I estimate they spent less than 30 seconds walking through the room spraying the air. I was pleased with the results of carpets that were cleaned, but not at all satisfied with Customer Service and what I consider false advertising on the part of Stanley Steamer. read more

This is a very unprofessional company. I saw one of their drivers speeding down FM 1488 while talking on his cell phone. At the same time I saw a stray dog crossing the road (from the opposite side of the oncoming driver so there was plenty of time to slow down) and began honking and flashing my lights towards the driver in hopes he would slow down. He kept speeding and of course ended up running the dog over with both front and back tires. No attempt to swerve or slow down even after the hit. I called the company to complain about the driver and was told a manager would call me back. Of course they never did. I guess next time if the driver ends up running over a child due to his reckless driving, then they might do something. read more

I had my living room, dining room, one bedroom and a hall cleaned and protected. As I had got a quote before the workers started I did not check my bill carefully when I gave them my credit card. After they left I noticed they had charged me for 5 rooms and a hall. The over charge was over 100.00. I called the Houston office. I was told a supervisor would call me back. I waited 2 days no call. I called again and still no returned call from the supervisor. I finally contacted the headquarters. I was told again a supervisor would call me "shortly". I am still waiting. I suppose I will have to take them to small claims court. read more

they did not inform me that the kitchen hallway was wet coming from the master bedroom I was holding my ten-month-old son and I slipped and fell they did not tell me it was what one of the guys came out and said oh I'm sorry I forgot to tell you be careful because the floor was what I said how did you forget to tell me is that all we just got busy and I could have hurt myself I could have hurt my son thank God I did not but it was a horrible horrible experience I kept trying to touch my baby I kept telling him not to one and the guy says old what happens if I do I called the company the company still has not contacted me back it was a horrible horrible horrible experience I did not know that they had even started with a water yet they told me that they were going to vacuum first so I thought they were just vacuuming I did not recommend this place that anybody they didn't even clean very well I really don't recommend and then I got a whole thank you email I didn't get an apology no one ever contact me back I spoke to four different people no one has contacted me back or anything again a horrible horrible horrible experience read more
