I was told that they take my insurance but are not in network and would cost ONLY about 5% more than others. I was told what the bill would be, got the work done, they tried to upcharge even more, but I turned it down because I can't afford more. I paid the total bill and left. A few weeks later I received a bill saying my insurance didn't cover it. I called the Hillcrest office and was told that it was only an estimate. What?!!! I would not have had anything done that cost so much. I don't have the money. I ended up paying, but it happened again and again. I have paid over $8,000 in extra costs. I stopped going months ago and I still am getting unpaid insurance bills for a year ago. Not only was I over charged, but they apparently did not even send in some of the bills to the insurance. Plus, the insurance keeps turning down the ones they received saying that it was UNNECESSARY work.

I was told that I need to pay (nearly $700) out of pocket to undergo their new 3 step process to clean my gums. I do not have cavities nor do I have gum issues. When asked if they were going to clean my teeth, they told me that it is no longer a part of the process. If I wanted my teeth cleaned I would need to pay out of pocket. They also told me they wanted to see me every 3-4 months rather than the usual 6 months. What dentist office doesn't clean teeth? Isn't twice yearly cleaning part of my insurance plan? My experience today left me feeling ripped off and part of a greater money grab scheme. My family and I will not be returning.
