The facilities are nice and they have a separate area for young adults that's apart from the kids which I always think is important. As far as online goes, they are part of the Ohio Digital Library so you get access to everything through Overdrive online, which is great. They seem to have quite a few activities going on all of the time like tutoring from BGSU students for reading for kids, seniors activities, story time for children, etc.

I rarely leave with less than the limit of the number of titles that can be checked out. The building and the grounds are really beautiful, with ample parking. I love a branch where the patrons behave themselves! The seating is plentiful inside, with some nice easy chairs scattered throughout. My only wish is that the state of Ohio shifts come funding back to our library system so the hours could improve!

Being a self-proclaimed regular reader, I've been to many libraries in my life. Some were small,…read morehad a limited selection of books and DVDs, and reaked of nasty little children. The library I grew up with always had tiny asian kids running around causing a raucus (I was one of them, till age 10). Nevertheless, I was really impressed as I drove up to this beautiful glass building with regal architecture (for Perrysburg, anyhow). There are several dropboxes in the front of the building guided by the driveway. Why leave your car in 19 degree weather? Inside the building, it's clean and well-lit, and the room is lined with plenty of places to sit. Along with plushy chairs, there are neat little booths all around that you can sit in to do some work. The children's section takes up about half the main floor. I haven't ventured in there to claim MY Harry Potter, but it looks impressive and spacey. There are also several computers that are surprisingly not ancient. What surprised me most about this library was it's vast, up-to-date DVD collection. There's no limit on how many DVDs you can check out, and you can hold it for 1 week. You can also check out books for up to 4 weeks, which is pretty amazing. I remember the good old days when books can be borrowed for only 2. This library is located on the shores of the River Raisin. During the early spring, you can see the sugaring taking place at the nearby Navarre-Anderson Trading Post. The site is a beautiful place to observe the changing seasons in Monroe. The accommodations are excellent and there is a separate children's library. There are many cultural events that take place here, such as jazz concerts, movies, etc. I'm glad I found this branch of the library!

When I parked I knew this place would be a spot that we would be coming to, often. This library has so much to offer. Not only do they have an abundance of books, but they have learning rooms, adult events, children events, an amazing children's library section, a rooftop terrace to enjoy a book or a nice beverage, many classes, the list goes on and on. When we finally made our way to the children's section I was wowed by the aquariums, Dr Seuss room, large car like jungle gym and the staff. In addition to the customary books, you can check out movies, music, magazines, and even ebooks. Miss Heidi, one of the children's librarians, does a fantastic baby story time and an equally fantastic story time for 2-5 year olds. Another great perk is that you can request any library material from any Toledo library and it will be sent here. When it arrives, they email you. You wouldn't believe how much easier this makes my life as the mother of an actve toddler!

They also have miscellaneous cool stuff for checkout like board games, music instruments, even art. The website is easy to use in terms of reserving books. If you reserve a book and clear the wait list, they will pull it for you. I wish they had a method of deferring (eg if you clear the wait list when you're on vacation) so that you don't have to go back through the queue, but understand how this could be complicated. Their "shelf service" is amazing. You put in your reading preferences and they select a handful of books that fit. It's wild that this is something you can access for free. It's a nice physical space with plenty of bathrooms, reading areas, wifi, etc. I love this library and coming here makes me so grateful to live in AA

I can't believe that I came here for the first time last weekend, even though it's been 8 years…read moresince I was a student in Ann Arbor! Ann Arbor offers an abundance of things -- not just books -- and it's one of the most impressive libraries I've been to because of that! I came here last weekend because I heard they had an art exhibit for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month of a collection of artwork made by various Taiwanese artists. As a Taiwanese American, I knew I had to check this out immediately! And while I came to see this collection (and was so impressed by it!), I stayed for all the other things the library had to offer! I perused it's rows of artwork (including the Taiwanese artwork!) that you could check out and display in your household for 2 months on end! What a ingenious idea, I thought, as someone who is constantly switching out the artwork I have hung around my house depending on my mood haha! I also perused their aisles of equipment you can check out for every reason under the sun - starting a podcast? need some hardware? lighting? DJing? hosting a big party and want some giant chess? want to try a new instrument? The list goes on and on and the opportunities are endless! It's a shame that I am neither an Ann Arbor resident nor work in the city, so unfortunately I can't get a free library membership (and a paid one costs $150 a year!), and the librarian I spoke too also mentioned that the University of Michigan doesn't collaborate with the AA District Library either, so I'm not entirely sure if you're able to even get a membership here as a student, if you don't change your address to something in Ann Arbor, which is a bit of a bummer! But if you live or work in Ann Arbor, definitely don't sleep on the district library and make sure to take FULL advantage of all this place has to offer!
