Unfortunately, it was clear to me neither the previous reviewer nor her husband (who was the litigant) were honest with Ms. Swafford about the complete situation and status of the case. The previous reviewer and her husband waited until the last minute to seek assistance and then were not truthful about what sort of assistance was really required. That Ms. Swafford appeared at all without full payment of the required retainer was, in my opinion, quite generous. That she withdrew prior to the second hearing after it became clear that she would not be paid for her services is just good business. She is not operating a charity for people of means who just don't want to pay for things.

My ex-husband retired, had been an engineer, and wanted me to pay him alimony. That wasn't going to happen, but going to court would cost more than giving up something else. In the end, I think that I gave the money to my ex rather than wasting it on court fees and attorney fees. I think she gives good advice and if you are a smart client, when you hire a good attorney, you should take that advice.

She charged me over ten grand to represent me in a custody case that is cut and dry. Made me pay the bill in full then on the day of the trial she claims to have not been confident and know the judge so because I am a Nurse she stated it would be best to postpone the case. She told the courts I was a COVID nurse so I was not even allowed in court house and the judge postponed my case for an entire year! Then she continued t charge my fathers CC stating emails, texts, phone calls were over $13 grand. Now mind you I never even met this lady in person. When I asked for a detailed description of all these charges she said she does not keep track and that she was not providing that for me. She called me a "joke" in an email and has done nothing but degrade myself and my family. I am a professional Woman, Nurse for 24 years and have never had such disgusting treatment by a lawyer before. Do not use this firm! I also found out she has lost another nurses custody case and an insurance agents divorce case. She should be banned from working in this industry period.
