The facilities are fantastic with two outdoor schools, one for dressage the other for jumping, a jumping paddock, a half mile gallop track and a horsewalker as well as fantastic hacking on the epsom downs. Horses get turned out in the fields 365 days a year. The yard just has a great atmosphere, everyone being really friendly and there's always lots going on with plenty of people around. The staff are all very helpful, always on hand if you have a problem, no matter how big or small it is. The yard is very professional and many of the liveries compete to a high level. I have really benefited from the great tuition available and am now also much more confident taking my horse to shows. There are also often clinics with professional riders at the yard. The location of the stables is ideal as there are many show centers nearby, as well as the clear round show jumping which takes place at the yard on a weekly basis in the summer months. You can choose between part or full livery and the prices are very reasonable. I went traveling for 2 months so left my horse completely to their care. I was a bit worried about this since I'm usually down there every day, but when I came back he looked better than ever before. If anything it was depressing that they got him going better than I could! I can't recommend this yard enough, both myself and my horse are very happy here!

They have horse power, that is more than me. Therefore the idea of sitting atop one for a ride when I had not ridden one for over a decade. A decade in which one grow up and out a bit between 25 early teens. So the horse I was given was huge, but within a minute they staff at the riding school had me at ease. It wasn't easy with the height I was sitting at. Honestly, I was bricking it. This school take people round Richmond park on horses. It was about 45 minutes. It felt like 5 minutes of being scared and getting to a canter and 5 minutes of sore bum afterwards. I felt the staff were lovely and absolutly first draw. This is somewhere to go for a work do (like we did that day), a regular ride in London and your first ever horse ride. A beautiful location to ride, which specfic horse paths and miles of countyside to roam and staff to accompany you. I would reccommend this riding school to anyone in SW London.

I booked a private hack in hopes that I'd be able to canter through Hyde Park and, wow, I was not disappointed! The Stables cater to all levels. Never ridden a horse before? You can try it in Hyde Park. Your kid wants a pony ride? They do that too. Want to canter for miles and put a big grin on your face? That was me! I arrived a bit later than expected because the alleyway to the stables was hard to find. Ross Nye and Hyde Stables are next door to each other so be sure to check you're at the right place too. When I arrived, all the horses were tacked up and ready to go. And, for us travelers, they have plenty of helmets and boots (in fair shape) to borrow. No need to use up that precious luggage space. I hopped on and we were immediately off to the Park! I'm really glad I booked a private hack and would recommend you do too. While I have a few years experience riding, another rider had none at all. My "guide," Annie was lovely! She was very knowledgeable about the Park, pointing out sites and fountains and had tidbits of information about everything (even the French from which "Rotten Row" was translated). And, once she knew I could keep up, we cantered all over the Park! I was thrilled. She was also very conscientious of safety, flagging down traffic so we could cross busy London streets and to stopping our canter set when an oblivious little girl wandered across our path. My horse, Clifton, was fantastic! He had an unexpectedly lofty, bouncy gait and was unphased by anything around us. I wish I could have brought him home. Most importantly, the horses were well cared for. I was told they had 16 horses at the London stables. And, when the horses show signs of being overwhelmed with city life, they are given time off in pastures in Chilworth. In fact, the barn shuts down at certain times of the year to rest all of the horses so inquire about your travel dates when you book. I can't recommend this place enough! No matter your riding experience, you'll have a fantastic time.

We saw the Queen and the Royal Family arrive (the Royal Races last Tuesday), and from out grandstand area we could see all the crazy wealthy folks in their top hats and tails - and dresses with elaborate hats or fascinators - losing their money just as we were losing ours. It was a fun day, everything there ranges from expensive to ridiculous but memorable. Allow plenty of time to get there by car, and consider taking a picnic - but honestly sitting by my car in the huge parking area and drinking champagne, while being cost-effective, didn't seem to "fit" with the ambience there. Although some guys in top hats were doing so! I guess the nouveau riche :) For my American friends, remember that grandstand in Britain means just that - STAND. After decades of softening up in the US I was thinking we would get seats - but no!! Will I go again - quite possibly - it was fun I must say.....

Throughout the day I was betting on various horses and I only lost £2 after all, so got lucky there. Not sure how it compares to the food downstairs, but the food in the private box was quite good, and so was the service. I recommend going to Ascot to have a good time. I got here by taxi from my hotel, but from what I heard there is sufficient parking right across High Street in a large open parking lot. Also a good meeting point.

The tuition is also of a really high standard. The riding school is very large with horses and ponies to suit people of all ages and standards. You'll find everything here, from 4 year olds having leads out in the park to keen pony clubbers to professional show jumpers. The facilities are also great, with very large indoor and outdoor schools complete with jumps. The stable also regularly take clients to their cross country course on Wimbledon Common. There are group and individual lessons to choose from and a great variety of things to do. The staff are very professional and with so many different instructors there is sure to be someone to suit any rider.The only negative I can think of is that the prices are very high. However, with such a unique location that is understandable. The stable also has a few livery spaces available, however here the prices really are extremely high- personally I couldn't quite see that it was worth the cost and therefore had to move my horse further out of London. Anyone looking to ride in the London area should be sure to give this place a look!

They weren't being used, and dust devils were blowing across them. (I'm not kidding it was a hot dry day and they were dusty!) There's also a second play area with an attendant present when I was there, and toilets. I only noticed the sign saying they were for kids and parents using the play area after I'd used them. Whoops Anyway, worth knowing if you are desperate and need to be sneaky! For a small local park it's definitely way above average. Very nearly earned 5 stars, and I might give it that if they had loos for adults and improved the courts.

Up at the O2 was an amazing experience! It's a relatively easy climb and the payoff is great…read moreconsidering you get incredible views of the Thames and the London skyline. Getting to the O2 is easy. There's always the tube- the station is literally right there, or by ferry. We took the Uber Boat from Greenwich and it was a scenic way to get there. I was pretty blown away by how extensive the O2 footprint is. Not only is it a huge arena, but it also has an outlet mall and a ton of restaurants attached to it. The check-in site for Up at the O2 is easy to find as it's not too far from the main entrance. You'll want to arrive a bit early to make sure all your release forms are filled out beforehand. Once your group is called, you go through a brief video introduction followed by time to use the restroom and then you are assigned shoes (if necessary) and a harness. Next, you are provided with a bin to place your personal belongings since you are only permitted to bring your phone. The bins are locked away, so no worries on bringing your purse or backpacks- they are secure . Next you get a more detailed briefing on safety and how to get into the harness We had an extraordinarily talented guide by the name of Dan who was funny and was a real delight the entire time. He was engaging and thoughtful. Really blown away by how awesome he was. It's like he was born to lead climbs at the O2, lol! Before embarking on the actual trek up the O2, there's an opportunity to pose for pictures before you go up with their photographer You'll later have an option to purchase after the climb. The climb itself is on a ramp that is on an incline and it's almost like a trampoline-like material. You are harnessed and tethered to a rail the whole way up and down, so it feels very safe. Once you reach the top, there's pop music and a jovial atmosphere as everyone gets to take in the amazing view. There is an option to purchase water or champagne before the climb and they'll have it waiting for you at the top. We had opted for the sunset climb and we saw incredible views of the city. We even got to witness a marriage proposal at the top- very special indeed! After descending, you have the option to purchase photos of your climb in various packages. Even though it's a bit cheesy, we totally did because it was nice to have some reminders of this fun experience. I would totally recommend Up at the O2 for something fun and off the beaten path to do in London. So glad we did it!
