Sign-posting left a bit to be desired, I didn't find any toilets or other facilities and parking was a bit tricky, maybe I hadn't found the official car park. Just a stroll to Mathildenhöhe, so do both in one visit.

Beautiful forest with plenty of trails for running, biking, etc. The trails range from long and…read morestraight paved trails, to hardpack, to gravel, and to winding single tracks through the trees. I have gone running here 2 times so far and I never felt crowded. The further i went into the forest the fewer people I saw. Today I started on a paved trail and at various junctions changed direction. I mived onto hardpack and then a more rugged trail. I saw a few rabbits akong the way. After a while i turned onto a single track trail through the trees. As i was running there was some rustling in the undergrowth off to the side that sounded larger then little Bugs Bunny. My first thiught was "Is this the forest that inspired the writting of "Little Red Riding Hood" or "Hansel and Grettle"? At the next opportunity I turned off the single track onto a larger trail.
