Parking is conveniently connected to the Hotel. We started in in room 401 right next to elevator. Because of not sleeping the previous night in a different hotel room also next to elevator, I didn't want to go through that again. They moved us to a very teeny tiny room with an awkward layout on the third floor. We could hear loud hum motor sounds and people coming up from below in the courtyard type area. You could also smell cigarette smoke-and I couldn't deal with that. Spoke with Fabio who had been continually and pleasantly going out of his way to assist us. We were moved to room 220. The room was great as far as having lots of room, a large bed, counter space in the room and the bathroom had a counter along window to put stuff as well as space above the sink. BUT- there was construction right outside the bathroom so even with the window shut the noise was ridiculous. (If I can I will attach the video). The other window I left ajar for fresh air but smoke from below wafted in all night plus we heard people below yelling, singing, along with loud truck sounds as they delivered stuff throughout the night (!). There were trash trucks and church bells inexplicably ringing at all hours. The bathroom door swings shut and there's no way to prop it open so going in and out of the bathroom was a huge pain in the butt due to having to deal with the door. The bed had no top sheet- just a bottom sheet and two separate blanket-comforters. Only one pillow per person, no extras. The room is sparse and cold looking, no warmth in the décor. The bathroom was also lacking any décor. They offered two normal size towels two smaller and linen-type cloths (like a tablecloth!), but no washcloths. No extra blankets available in room. Lights on either side of the bed that you can move were great for reading. There is a fridge and a safe. There is free wifi. Breakfast buffet looked good (I didn't eat). Since it was such a horrible first night there and my second night of not sleeping, we chose to not stay the next two nights but instead, move out of the city area and stay in Andrian (see my write up on the excellent Pension Gruenwald Bindergasse if you are interested. read more
