Neustadt, one of the biggest cities in Lower Austria with lots of historical tradition (emperor Maximilian of Austria, one and only military academy for officers, etc.) there is also the Christmas market. A big ice-skating rink with a special tent as checkroom. Lots of Austrian handcraft, beverages and Christmas goodies. The alcoholic stands are better organized than usual and offer lots of room to sit and also eat. The prices are modest and there is also a music stage where they play traditional as well as rock-pop music - thus something for everybody!!!
