I really want to give this hotel a higher rating- more than anything. It has a perfect location right across the street from Lidkoping City Center. There are restaurants in very close proximity. The hotel has free parking across the street. It has a mixture of old world charm and modern amenities. It's clean and approachable with a restaurant and bar on the premise. There's no room service but as I mentioned, many restaurants within 5 minutes. I don't think this town believes in room service anyway. Sadly, the one thing you need in a hotel is a good nights rest. This hotel does not have that for at least two out of five nights. And I do mean it is loud as heck until about 4am! The parking lot across the street brings in night time laughing, yelling and music. The hotel seconds as a bar/ disco bar on Saturday's. There's even a police checking ID photos. There's LOUD bar sounds from night revelers that carries through your window since the bar is partially outside. Then by 3:30am, you hear the workers throwing beer bottles and glass into the dumpster for a while. If you can sleep through a tornado or hurricane, the Stadt Hotel is fine! Me, I was up with my two children ages 11 and 12 all night and when we finally fell asleep at 4am, the sun came up and we were expected to be somewhere. read more
