A gorgeous little park in Ghent!…read more After spending the greater part of a day wandering around the city and visiting sites like Le Grand Curtius, we decided to stop and relax for a time along the river. The riverbank at the park offers a gorgeous view of the city, even on a cold, dreary day. As it gets dark, you watch the city, particularly the pedestrian bridge and main station, light up and paint the cityscape with bright colors. Besides a walk along the river, you can visit the palace grounds and see the rose gardens, full of color even in the winter. After a long busy day, Parc de la Boverie was a perfect stop and one we would definitely visit again!

Fun park! It was a nice place to bring the kids as long as you avoid the bird section. There are…read morelots of animals and a big area to enjoy. Unfortunately the bird section is sad. Small cages, and the larger birds like Hawks and Eagles are chained to the ground. At first we didn't know that the birds were chained down until we saw an eagle try to fly up, and quickly fall back to the ground. Horrifying to the kids.

Very nice large enclosure for some of the large birds and ducks. Sadly the bird of prey section is something to be desired. The large Eagles and Owls were chained to perches and couldn't fly around, the rest were in small cages and tied to a perch. Over all a nice little zoo to hang out for the day.
