A very informal, family-orientated Anglican church. The congregation there is large, and its boosted in term-time by local students; but even out of term, the age-profile of those who attend is more heavily-weighted towards the younger age groups than most Anglican churches.
It's officially an Anglican church but to be honest it's only just Anglican -- it's very 'low' in terms of its worship and very informal. If you're wanting incense, processions and a high-brow church choir, you'll be disappointed! The music is very good, though, focussing as it does on modern songs (some of which have been written by members of the congregation themselves).
The youth work there is good -- there's plenty going on, and it's well-supported too.
All in all, a very welcoming, friendly place -- although we live a long way away, we've always come away refreshed on the occasions when we've been to services there ourselves. I've no doubt this would be our spiritual home if we lived more locally. read more
