Don't let the outside fool you. Step inside of this little country Church and you'll find some spectacular artwork. In recent years, the Church has worked to have all of the artwork cleaned from the years of soot that had prevented the full paintings from being seen. Today, they are quite visible and the colors are vibrant. Behind the main altar you'll find a painting of God the Father and angels surrounding the Tabernacle. On the ceiling you'll find paintings from the life of Mary. The Nativity in the Center of the Church is especially beautiful. Along the walls on both sides are medallions of various Saints, and right above the altar is an image of St. Stephen. Not only have the paintings been cleaned, but so have the chandeliers, giving this Church a fresh look. Be sure to examine the historical items in the case located in the lobby area of the Church, and visit the cemetery next door to the Church. You can find Bishop Trobec buried there. read more
