It had rich wooden counter tops, brass and bronze fixtures, and a level of care and service like I've never experienced from most pharmacies! They had everything in Austrian, and the clerk wasn't the best with English, but we got the messages across with international sign language. Fortunately, chemical names of drugs apply internationally, and we got everything figured out. One of the other customers stepped in and helped when there was a bit of misunderstanding, but it all worked out! They had everything that we needed. The prices were nowhere near what you find at the local CVS or Walgreens. Parking is challenging, with only parking on the street.

I bought some Tee for "Brust und Lungen" and "Nervenberuhigungs" and even the packages which they come in appear from another century; very neat! The bottom line is their products are the highest quality. Thus you can expect to pay a pretty penny if you want to get results. Many pharmacies today offer cheap and quick solutions which aren't necessarily the best for your body. I also purchased some Voltaren as this product is not accessible within the United States. It is ideal for athletic injuries and joint pain after an acute or prolonged injury. From the various pharmacies in Vienna this one was by far my favorite. Not just from the experience but from a customer satisfaction perspective.

Similar to your local drug store, in my case CVS, DM sells cosmetics, healthcare items, household products, and healthy/convenient foods. Their layout looks more like an clutter-free, upscale bodega (corner store) than the layout of a pharmacy or CVS. However, the signage is quite similar (including the red letters in the company's name.) Almost every products' package is in German but, the items are recognizable. As for bagging items, they use paper instead of plastic. Chic!

There's one place in CHI that stocks these, and I have to pay $6-7/ea vs EUR $2 *Kneipp bath salts - $20+ per jar at home, EUR$6 or less here! *Nivea cream in the blue tins. Not the same as the stuff for sale in the US! There's only one place in the States that imports the European formula and it's more than double the price. I'm sure if you live here and have access to this stuff all of the time, this is probably a 3-star place. But I saved a ton of money on some of my favorite things, so 4 stars from me!

They always go above and beyond what is needed and speak English, which is a huge help. Even though this isn't the closest to where I live, I still select this pharmacy. In the USA, there are many things that you can buy in stores like DM or Bipa but are not available here. They are knowledgeable about what options there are that can be bought in Austria.
