I love the school because I made a lot of friends and don't have any trouble there. The teachers help out and I always have good grades.

This school is great! I have both of my children in Pre K and kindergarten, Ms.Gonzales is such a great Pre-K teacher, she does such an amazing job, she pays very much attention to the kids. Ms Vega is an excellent Kindergarten teacher, she is very nice to the kids. She teaches them very well and is on top of there work. I recommend this school to any parent that want a better future to there kids. read more

I'm only giving them 4 out of 5 stars because they need to do a better job of orienting new families. My child started in the middle of the school year and (the kid was fine) but I was so lost as far as homework assignments, P.E uniform day & extra curricular activities. Also, I don't agree that because one child acts up the ENTIRE class pays for it. My child is always on good behavior and it seems unfair that bad behavior outshines the good. Ms. Curtis is the best principal I've ever known. She is ALWAYS available for ANYTHING you or your child needs. The tuition is reasonable. Parents are encouraged to participate. And the feel is very warm and nurturing. I hope to keep my child here for all grade levels. read more

This is a horrible school. The office staff is just plain rude, but what's funny is that she was super kind to the Hispanic parents, hmmm. Pure evil. Parents of African American children, PLEASE, hear me, BE AWARE!!! And they don't hide it at all, they want you to know how they feel. Just look at the pictures, there are hardly no African American kids in the pics. I think it's 1! I did not do enough research and that is my fault. I had to learn this the hard way. My daughter's grades started slipping and no one would tell me why until I said I wanted to leave, then they came up with all the reasons why and I was told it takes her a long time to process things. Well, why haven't they offered tutoring? Why did it take for me to say I was leaving for anything to even be told to me about her grades? They thought I was just gonna sit around and not inquire about anything. They would look at me all weird because you see a black woman with a career, caring about her kid. All I ever did was say hi and bye to them so they can't say I was ever rude. I'm a quiet person so I just sit back and observe. I remember I told her teacher she had pretty earrings on and she looked at me as if I was gonna steal them, never said thank you. Just pure rotten to the core. They will not like you there, please understand. I saw a black family leave in the middle of the school year but I still tried to hold on thinking well maybe I'm overthinking it! No, I should have trusted my intuition in the beginning. When I saw the family leave, I should have known then. Lesson learned!!! read more

This is a very bad school. The woman in the office is very rude. They are very strict and rude! They yelled at my daughter because of her color of her socks! Like that is very ridiculous. My daughter has been here since kinder and it was good until Mrs. Hurtt became principal. She is very rude and strict. In fifth grade my daughter would come to me every day to tell me that the teacher was bothering her. She was getting very bad grades because the teacher hated her. And what's even worse is that the teacher would act very nice and kind to the rest of the kids and would treat my daughter like a piece of trash! The teacher had favorites! My daughter had bad grades because she hated her! When we went to go talk to her she said that she had bad grades because of her "bad behavior". Behavior has nothing to do with grades. All I'm saying is too be careful if you put your child in this school. They are very rude! read more

I am a St. Raphael alumni that graduated in 1995. My son just started kindergarten and I am thrilled that he gets to attend the school where mommy went as a child. St. Raphael gave me the fundamentals to be beyond prepared for high school and life. I was in AP classes as a freshman with juniors and seniors so that goes to show you that the education you receive here is so worth it. The teachers take great pride with every student to reach their potential. I am looking forward for my son becoming a better individual because he is attending private catholic school. read more

Being a first time parent we want the best education for our children. This school is the BEST place. Coming from a public school and transitioning into a private school has been the best decision and investment. Friendly staff and dedicated teachers. My daughter is in pre-k and I am keeping her in this school. She was very shy before did not want to participate in any activity and now she dances and sings everywhere her academic level is high for an average 5 year old. I have my 3 children attending this school. My oldest is now in the 8th grade and I could not have chosen a better school for them. The school is up to date with technology and is future ready in the sense that they have smart panel boards, Ipads and chromebooks in their classrooms including pre-k and kinder, as well as a renovated computer lab. My oldest was accepted to many top high schools in the city based on the preparation that this school has put him in. I would highly recommend this school to any parent interested in their children receiving a great education. read more

St.Raphael school has been the best choice for my children to attend, it is a pre-K through 8th grade school. I have one son in pre-K and the other in 1st grade and they absolutely love their teachers and love their school. What I love the most of St.Raphael is the professionalism of the entire staff, technology based, always putting students safety first, and the involvement of all parents is phenomenal. This was my first year in the parent board committee and it has been running smooth thanks to the principal Ms.Curtis for always making sure she is involved in all activities and always on top of students, staff,& parents needs. The best part of my children attending this school is also that they attend mass once a week and religion is one of their subjects. Love that!!!! read more

Tuition is very low. $240 per month without low income assistance. MANDATORY fund raisers(i.e sell $200 worth of raffle tickets) if you don't sell them all, you must pay out of pocket for any unsold) My child didn't start at the beginning of the school year. I still feel lost as far as the hours one is supposed to "volunteer" (20hrs/ volunteer or pay @ $20 per hour) there is no community feel between the church and the school. The principal is so amazing! Ms. Curtis will make you feel right at home and treats you like you've been pals for years! You have to be a very involved parent and ask a lot of questions to the seasoned parents or the staff because like stated in the previous review, nobody actually goes out of their way to make sure new families know about extracurricular activities, homework packets (that was confusing for me as well initially) P.E uniform day, I wasn't offered a tour of the school when I first came in. The students here are so well behaved! What a difference private school makes! Oh! And good behavior is not overlooked! My child has received two principals awards for Honesty. The staff is warm and welcoming. Nobody is standoffish. Not one person. I recommend this school. read more

I cannot begin to say how pleased I have been with my daughter going there. The coach Mr. Scott is so dedicated to children and getting them to play sports only after one year there my daughters test scores went up. and the Principal Ms. Curtis is always available to speak to. St Raphael school does not have great teaching academics and they need to hire teachers with more teaching skills and actually teach our children. The teachers need to help their students on how to write a paper. They need to control their students behavior and especially improve their teachings in mathematics. Also they need to focus more on academics than in sports. Other than that the church is really beautiful read more
