Saint Francis is a small but pretty neighborhood church with a pre-school program. While Saint…read moreFrancis people and clergy are encouraging and supportive, they are not aggressive nor are they dogmatic. This is not a "fire and brimstone" experience, but the expression of God's Love for neighbors and visitors. If you enjoy traditional music at Christmas, Easter and Sundays, they have a well-developed music program and welcome new singers to audition for their adult choir. Some previous choir experience is preferred, including high school experience. Contact the choirmaster Sam to find out more. There are many families here with parents, adult children, and friends serving in the Saint Francis' adult choir. The church also has opportunities for children and youth to sing in their own choirs and there is a less formal group of singers and guitar players with a more pop focus. You do not have to be an Episcopalian or Anglican, just friendly ;-) Saint Francis holds a large book sale every year to help fund charity outreach projects in Greensboro. If you like to pitch in with service projects, there are several to volunteer for. Service, music, fellowship all are a part of this church, but no one is ever forced to do more than they want to. If you like a neighborhood church with a traditional feel, you'll enjoy Saint Francis Episcopal.

After joining OCH, I fell in love with the school and the care the teachers provide my kids. OCH is a smaller center and the teacher to student ratios are small which really allows the teachers to give the kids the love and attention they need throughout the day to feel welcome and regulated. OCH was recently re-certified as a 5 star center which goes beyond what I thought a daycare could provide! I love to see the creative way they teach the kids the weekly topics vs. worksheets or teacher curated crafts. They learn through play and the teachers work on social emotional learning and helping the kids learn how to regulate when they are upset. Additionally, it is a co-op daycare, meaning the parents have active involvement in the success of the school. We moved to the area in 2023, and I realized almost all of our friends are parents from the daycare. Listening to other parents talk yesterday about not having "mom friends," I mentioned all my mom friends are from our daycare and my friend replied: "that's because your daycare encourages parents to get to know each other! Mine is just drop him off, see you later." She's right - we have monthly get togethers with the other parents and kids and it's a great way to make new parent friends, which can be so hard these days. All of that is to say, we love OCH and I wouldn't consider sending my kids elsewhere.

After visiting and meeting the staff, we knew it was the right place for us. They helped raise my boy the right way. Then came another child and there was no thought to where she was going for childcare. My children are treated just like I would want each day and they love the experiences they have each day. Would highly recommend.

As a new mom, it was really important to me to find a daycare that met all my expectations. Sure, I…read morehave high expectations, but they certainly aren't unreasonable and I'm sure any mom would agree. Little Mouse playhouse was the first place my husband and I toured. I had heard something good about it so off we went. It's tucked away beside the Target off Lawndale Rd. The daycare is an older style house made into a daycare center. As so, the driveway is as wide as a regular house driveway. This was an issue the moment we pulled in. Another car was leaving, and there's no where to pull to the side because of the wall or the dumpster. Since we couldn't back up into the middle of Lawndale, the other car backed up instead. We rounded the corner and parked in the lot, and then had no idea where to go. There was the main house and then a smaller building on the opposite side. I opted for the house and entered into the back door (or front door, not sure). I called out because I didn't see anyone but didn't get an answer. I walked through the house to a room full of kids. When I say full, I mean packed. It seemed like way too many kids for the room. I stood there for several minutes looking for someone before a teacher noticed me. She directed me to the other building. This was red flag #1. Anyone can walk in there and just walk into a classroom and no one noticed. When I walked out I met my husband outside who was looking up. Up at the roof. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned off in decades. There were bees flying around the entrance and frankly the area was not kept up. Ants were crawling all over the ground. Not exactly what you want to see when you know your child will be all over that ground soon. We walked to the smaller building where the younger kids were, though reluctantly at that point. Upon entering, a teacher was sitting in the classroom with a few children...and her boyfriend. Red flag #2. She pointed to the infant room a few feet away and the room had one of those doors where the top and bottom open and close independently of another. The top was open and I peer into the room briefly. The room was extremely clean and large. But what I noticed instead was a teacher sitting on a mat beside a baby doing tummy time. For those of you who don't know, tummy time should never be left unattended to, especially at younger stages. The teacher was a young lady with her cell phone in hand, scrolling through her Facebook. That did it for me. Even though we spoke to the other teacher in the room, who was professional and friendly, I had already made up my mind. I think it goes without saying we left and opted not to tour the rest of the rooms.

As it is one staff member in particular that has been very rough with multiple kids very sad! The director has and will tend too normalize the aggressive behavior of staff and disregards the parents concerns for the safely & care of their child(ren). Well this is definitely alarming a place you dont want your baby to attend should it happen to your child(ren) because all they care about is getting the money that your child brings in for the facility. Don't send your child here if u want quality care if average care is what u looking for than ok. Pop up visits are needed by parents and Child care commission...

First,…read morehe was transitioned a lot from one classroom to another and none of the teachers really seemed to know much about what was going on, nor were the teachers consistent. Every day I brought him in with a jacket, I had to go searching for it because no one seemed to know where it was even when I would put it in his cubby that had his name on it or hung it under his cubby! I also ran into issues with consistent communication. This place uses the tadpole app and watchmegrow for you to see what was served that day and monitor your child in the class, which was a big reason why I picked them. The problem is, some teachers will say what he ate during that meal and others will just say what was served. Same goes with bathroom breaks. Some will say he went to the potty and others won't. There's not a lot of detail on what exactly is going on with my child either. Another time my child was bitten by a child that had already bitten another kid previously and the teacher couldn't tell me what was being done and said that it was the parents fault. That's all good and fine but I want to know what you're going to do and what your policy is to make sure this won't happen again. Speaking of policy, there isn't a whole lot of available information there either other than a few forms they gave me when I first enrolled my son. My biggest concern and ultimately what has led me to look elsewhere is that I sent an email to corporate about all of my concerns and spoke on the phone with the director. The next time I had my son there, he took his pants and diaper off and peed on his shirt because he is going through potty training and the teacher couldn't find his pants! How do you not notice him removing his clothes and then you can't find his pants?! The director told me the ratio was 1 to 9 and that's a lot of kids for one person. I also didn't find out they were closed New Year's Eve until the day before and for someone that works, that makes it very difficult to try to find last min child care. I've tried to be patient and hope it gets better but I can't risk another bad incident where I'm placing my trust, child's safety, and hard earned money in a place that doesn't put my child first. I do not recommend this place to anyone when their child turns 2.
