We understand this is private property but there was literally no one there that my almost 2-year-old would have been a threat to. And she was with her active duty military father. You people are great at excluding anyone who doesn't fit your definition of good. Very pretty church in downtown Barrington. I love the look of the dark wood interior and how the…read morecongregation can wrap around the altar. Not a bad seat in the house. Parking is tricky, though--especially during services that draw higher attendance. The allotted church parking fills up fast, but the church is in a residential area so it's easy to find street parking. This is not my parish but it is convenient for me to visit during the week, particularly for the Ash Wednesday service.

Who doesn't love hanging out in the house of Big J and G money?…read more I am not catholic, so I hope I do not offend anyone with those remarks. Although I did spend 4 hellish years in Catholic High School, so I feel I am good in their books. Anywho, one of my best friends had his wedding ceremony here last weekend. I've driven by St. Peter's a few times in my day and per most churches figured it'd look just like all the others on the inside. Well, I was correct. It got very warm inside during the ceremony and being in a tux did not help. The church has lots of beautiful stained glass and is big enough to suite what I believe is a modest congregation. The grounds are nice. Grass is very soft. There is decent park, but it's mostly street parking. The pastor did not have much of a personality, but I don't think that's a requirement for his job. All in all, a-ok.

There isn't much to say about a church but I do know there are three things to expand on when speaking about SMLC.. 1) the congregation is extremely welcoming, 2) the pastors are very nice and always open to speak about anything and everything and 3) the surroundings and ambience is very comforting and you always feel welcomed. Being someone who doesn't attend church every single Sunday, I am starting to attend much more because of SMLC and because I feel so welcomed.
