I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SHOPPING HERE.... Grab a coffee, beverage or whatever this will be a bit of a…read moreread. The WORST shopping experience I've had in Cold Lake EVER! I've recently had the pleasure of dealing with the rude (putting it nicely) manager at the Cold Lake Home Hardware. I went into this store with a specific item in mind to purchase. While shopping in the isle, the manager and another customer, rudely walked in behind me not respecting my personal space, let alone self distancing rules. It was not hard to over hear their conversation as they were practically rubbing elbows with me. (I moved over). They were talking about an item in which only one was left on the shelf. I turned and asked what they were looking for, thinking it may possibly be what I had in my hand and intended on purchasing. When the manager said in a ignorant tone , "A Bird Feeder". Being considerate, I asked a hummingbird feeder possibly? ‍ As I held it up, he said "Yeah, you can't have that it's Sold." Which at this point, I figured if it's Sold it shouldn't be available for customers to purchase?! I tried to explain that, but the manager kept telling me that it's not for sale while flashing some sort of paper the customer had with price tags on it. Which at this point, I said "I came here with this specific purchase in mind, I'm a paying customer and I'm here to purchase this feeder." I'm thinking (Are you freaking kidding me, he's arguing over a $14.99 feeder) The customer walked away and at which this point the Manager tried to pull it out of my hands! Wrong move mister, I now had a death grip on this thing. While he kept trying to rip it out of my hands he said "You're being an IDIOT." very loudly and clear for any shopper in nearby isles and then some to hear. I said to him calmly "I am trying to have a conversation with you", allowing him the opportunity to explain why this item was not pulled from the shelf earlier and why he was trying to pull it out of my hands. I had so many negative thoughts running through my head , but wait lets be the bigger person here! At which this point I asked to speak to the manager. He loudly said "I AM the Manager", now give me the feeder. I let go of the feeder and said that I would never be shopping in this store again, he yelled "GOOD I DON'T EVER want to see your face in this store again!". I left for Canadian Tire and found the exact same feeder $3.00 cheaper, so I bought two . This incident happened on Friday, May 29th around 11:45am. On the morning of Monday June 1st, I went back to the store to have a conversation with the manager, allowing him the opportunity to apologize for his rude behaviour. Thinking hey, we all have bad days, maybe this was one of his. I found the assistant manager and asked if she would come and speak to the manager with myself and a family member. I was in the midst of explaining the situation to her, when the manager walked up and said "I told you not to come in this store again, I don't want to see your face here ever again, now leave." At this point I said that I was there to have a conversation with him and said that I came to seek an apology. At which he said "Get out of my store or I'm calling the cops." ‍ I laughed and said "Go ahead, it's not a legal matter." You could tell the assistant manager was baffled and embarrassed by her superiors reaction to myself and my family member, but as the manager walked away he was telling her, to leave the isle and away from us. At this point we left the store, dumbfounded how anyone in a management position would treat customers like that. Sir you winfor being the most IGNORANT person I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with in Cold Lake. I believe Sir, you should have surgery to get your nose out of whosoever butt it's crammed in You should not be in a management if that is how you treat your customers, let alone your staff who I could tell was not happy with you either. That afternoon, I pondered leaving the situation as is or taking it further. Seeing how lots of people are afraid to speak up, I thought how many others has this man treated poorly in this store??? NOPE, not today Satan, Not today! So I did a bit of digging, tried calling the owner of this store, in which I was put in touch with an affiliate to the owner. I told him the situation and he said he would be in touch with me that day. When he did get back to me later on, his response was pretty much a "He says, she says" and there wasn't much he could do about it.! Well you don't say! I encouraged him to pull the cameras and review this incident himself, but apparently there are NO cameras in this section...how convenient. So now I'm seeking to speak to the ACTUAL owner of the company, whom I've been told is currently out of the country.
