I was very impressed with the entire experience, but especially the minister. I have been to several churches over the years and I always appreciate the ones where the minister feels human, and Beth Wolfe definitely does. The best way I can explain it is that she is partly preaching, and partly story-telling. Her style would be great for people new to attending church as she makes the bible stories relatable, one would not feel "lost" in the preaching if one hasn't been deep in the bible. And for the long-timers, she adds a new perspective to bible passages that may otherwise feel very familiar, which makes them feel fresh. I honestly stopped by on a lark this week, but I was sufficiently impressed that I expect to attend again. Do yourself a favor and go a time or two and see if the atmosphere doesn't inspire you to keep going back.

I have been to all three so I can promise you that the sermon is the same in every one - or as "same" as a human can make it. However, the "wrapping" is different. The contemporary service is like a gift bag... Happy, upbeat, casual... very 'come as you are'. Most people where jeans - some still wear their Sunday best, and I have even seen people in sweat pants or jammies. It's not how you look, but that you're there that counts. The music is primarily a light "Christian Rock" style, videos and/or skits are often involved in the services. You're guarranteed at least one good laugh every service. The average age of attendees for this service is probably 30something. The traditional service is more like a professionally wrapped gift... Lovely, proper, perfect. The average age of attendees for this service is probably 50s+. Good old fashioned hymns are sung and they skip the skits and videos....but you'll still get the laugh and the sermon. There is child care for all services, but most children programs are at the 10am. They have a middle/high school program in the "Underground", there is a children's church and there are preschool classes and baby care. Sermons are usually conducted in a series of 4-10 weeks at a time, allowing a topic to be really broken down. I have been going to church my whole life but feel that I really *learn* here.... it not just the commandment, the Bible story or the moral, it's that I grasp the happenings of the time, the "why"s and "whatif"s. My family has been enjoying this church for a few years now and highly recommend it.
