Father Francis that does preaching at st.Joan and st. Patrick's is not a good fit for st. Joan of arch, he doesn't listen to his parishioners, the Catholic Church needs to have priests that the congregation is comfortable with...keep Francis at HDG, we need priests like father Willy who is personal with each parishioners and doesn't give negative advice to others...as a new parishioner for 3 years I have joined st, Joan of arch, but I'm now considering on changing church to a church that cares about their parishioners and not interested in monetary gains and their egoistic beliefs....God knows what's in the hearts of men who are dishonest. read more

update: Yay! Dale is leaving. Good riddance and never return. Now my family and I can return to this parish.

St. Patrick's is a beautiful little church that is as inspiring as the pastor and the music. We attended when Father Bill was the pastor and wondered if we would love it as much without him. We do!!! Father Dale has infused new energy into the parish with his moving and insightful homilies, and he has brought in wonderful musicians, the icing on the cake. There is talk of moving masses to the parish hall where there is more room because of high attendance, but I sincerely hope that does not happen except possibly for special church holidays when attendance is much higher (Easter in prior years). I feel a huge void in my life by not attending mass at St. Patrick Church during the Covid-19 crisis and eagerly await the time when I can again worship there. read more

When I moved here in Havre de Grace, as a devoted catholic, I checked St. Patrick Church. No offense to the previous priest but his homily did not mean anything when I left that Sunday as I could hardly hear his voice. I was looking for a church that can give meaning when I go hear mass and at this time my family and I went to St. Joan of Arc instead. St Joan of Arc limits their mass schedule during the summer therefore we thought of going to St Patrick this time. There we saw the new priest Father Dale. His homilies touches your inner being. His teachings are all based off from the bible. I agree with Diane, father Dale brought new energy into the church. I can compare him to Joel Osteen of the catholic church. I don't usually seat in front of the church but I do now as I want to hear his preaching. St Patrick's is a church filled with classic Catholic spirituality. The new pastor has provided a new life to the church. Father Dale brought in a new energy that connects o God's word. Although, the transition was sudden and unsettling to many involved with the parish he continues to move the church forward. read more

The church is a beautiful building, but more importantly conversion to the Lord Jesus is emphasized. Worship on weekends is contemporary and some traditional. Come and see for yourself, don't go by one person's review. read more

St. Patrick's Church is a traditional Roman Catholic parish community in the heart of Havre de Grace. The new Pastor has done tremendous work in making the Parish economically viable for future generations and is at the forefront of spiritual growth and faith formation for our faith community. Unfortunately, with a new pastor comes new leadership, hard decisions, and changes that need to be made, and not everyone will see eye to eye when difficult decisions are made for economic viability.
