This is where my daughter attends school. It is a primary school and middle school combined.
In Dorset we still have primary education until Year 7, but will fall into line with the rest of the country by 2010.
St Mary's is a school of around 630 pupils. It's does extremely well in the league tables, which I, personally, disapprove of. I feel that SATs should be scrapped.
The school community is very caring whilst encouraging personal independance. Each pupil is encouraged to be efficacious, as well as a good team member.
The upper years have regularly won trophies at different sports, and interests also include the environment, St Mary's Organic Garden, music, drama and many other disciplines.
