I'm always called back right at my appointment time or several minutes before. The office is also very responsive to pharmacy refill requests. If you're thinking about getting established here, do not hesitate.

Extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Ochsner Health Center - Old Metairie…read more I experienced a seven-day lapse in medication because my refill was not sent to the pharmacy in time, despite multiple attempts to contact the office. During that time, I became very ill from abruptly stopping the medication and was left without clear communication or assistance. The most frustrating part was being unable to reach my actual physician directly regarding the issue. Instead of receiving answers or timely support, I was repeatedly redirected through other staff members while my medication continued to be delayed. Patients should not be left without necessary medication due to office communication failures or lack of provider coverage. I understand doctors take time off, but there should be a reliable continuity-of-care process in place so patients are not negatively impacted. I hope this office improves its communication, refill management, and patient care moving forward.

(The only reason I did not continue seeing her was because her clinic's location and hours at that time were not convenient for me.) She is patient, understanding, professional, easy to talk to, very well informed, and best of all, thorough! She listened to all of my concerns and was happy to answer all of my questions (of which I had very many!) I'm so glad that Dr. Mathis has opened a clinic so close to where I live and work.

Thomas Ryan is a OB/GYN practicing in New Orleans and in Metairie. Yelp has two listings for him -…read moreone for each of his office locations. Both offices are clean and have ample free parking, so pick the location closest to you - you will get five-star medical treatment at either. Dr Ryan was my gynecologist long before I became I mom, and he is to this day. I've been going to him for over 20 years, and I have no complaints at all. He is a fun and silly person who clearly understands how ridiculously uncomfortable it is (mentally and sometimes physically) to have a gynecological exam, and he will chat and laugh with his patients to get them through the experience with minimal discomfort. He has had three nurses since I started seeing him, and every one of them has been warm, funny, kind, spunky, and well . . . just the kind of woman you'd want to go have a drink with. Dr. Ryan is very much NOT an alarmist. He is quite easy-going, and his confidence is extremely reassuring, especially for nervous soon-to-be moms. His jovial and relaxed bedside manner aside, however, he is also extremely knowledgeable and reacts quickly to save lives when the situation arises, as it did with the birth of my first child. After a brutally long labor, Dr. Ryan indulged my fears for my own pain with sympathy and good humor until the second my daughter began experiencing distress in utero. At that moment, he became all business, moving extremely quickly to pull my girl out with forceps while barking at the nurses and other people there so they too would react quickly on her arrival. It turns out that the umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck twice and was choking her with my pushing. The second he knew there was a problem, he acted amazingly and ensured that I would have a lovely, healthy daughter instead of a sad tale to tell. I know he takes Blue Cross, Blue Shield, because that is the type of insurance I have. I could not recommend him more highly. Additionally, I see that he has scored a 100% satisfaction rating at healthgrades based on 13 of his other patients' surveys (I did not do one).

Dr Peeper is one of the top OBGYNs in the nation. We are lucky to have such a prominent, well…read moreeducated and knowledgeable physician like him in New Orleans. I have been seeing him for over 20 years and whether it's a regular exam or childbirth or gyn questions/issues, his knowledge of the most up to date procedures, technologies, data and medical literature is without question. He takes all my concerns seriously, even when I don't know what I don't know. He explains things well. I recently needed a procedure when I developed a symptom and he did a great job on the surgery and also helping me understand timing implications while were worried about the recent upsurge in COVID cases possibly limiting my options. His staff helped a ton with getting me names and referrals for surgery clearance. I am so grateful to the whole practice for all their help! I recently asked Dr Peeper for some recommendations of doctors for another family member, totally unrelated to my health and he knows which physicians are the best to go to in their field in NO since he is so well respected and a top notch medical leader in NO. It's not hard getting an appt time, his staff are good at working with my schedule, and as with any OB, since he delivers babies, his waiting room times can be fast, or a little longer. But I haven't ever had any different expectations since that's pretty much how any OBGYN has to function. Recommend highly.

All very personal, and some of them truly embarrassing. This so-called doctor of medicine, Dr. Peeper, turned to me and said "Oh, that's not a real thing. It's all in your head." This is, my friends, textbook gas lighting, which is considered abuse by any standard, highly damaging, and never something I would expect any legitimate medical professional to say. If you are in perimenopause, run very far and very fast away from Dr. Peeper and find a doctor who is 1. knowledgeable, 2. professional, and 3. capable of showing a mere modicum of compassion.
