They were just treated as objects and not kids. Ever since my kids were transitioned out of their old school to The Kids Learning Academy, my kids have accelerated greatly. The staff is very nice and attentive towards all of the kids. I have one in VPK and another in Daycare. I am very happy with my kids performance at school and at home. I feel they are learning so much more. My kids have opened their minds up and are blossoming. I would have to say that Ms. Beth runs a very tight ship. She is always looking out for the better interest for the kids to learn and be well taken care of. I highly recommend this school for parents looking for a school in the Fort Lauderdale area. Thank you for all of your great work.

I asked to see the cameras and we saw Mercedes being violent and rough with my daughter. She hit her head because she could not control her temper (the caregiver, not the child!). My daughter was 2 years old at the time. The director, which tends to be rude but chose to be more diplomatic considering the obvious, agreed that the caregiver lost her temper and that it was wrong. However, refused to move the teacher from my daughter´s classroom. She said we would have to move my daughter to a different level instead. Needless to say, my daughter did not come back to that school. We even filed a police report that indicated that the caregiver must practice better patience with children. You would expect that from a teacher of 2 year old children! The caregiver was a few weeks without pay but then went back to work. Regardless if she is still there or not, I would advise all parents to stay away from this center. They allowed this behavior to happen. This person should have been fired. Please do your research and put your kids in a facility where the caregivers genuinely care about your children. My daughter had an emotional impact from her experience in this place. To top it off, they tried to put it on my daughter saying that she used to cry all the time. What a lame justification of wrong adult actions. Stay away from this place! I have to give star but I would give them -0

The place is clean, back yard is amazing and they make sure every day is filled with fun activities My son moved to public school after kindergarten and he was so advanced. They reached them to love reading, to praise God and respect family. They prepare them to be good citizens of the world. Some of the teachers are 10+years with the school it's great to know that same teachers here raised both of my kids. The prices are very reasonable compared to other daycares but the quality of their services is very high.

Pride and joy came recommended by my neighbor whose kids went there until they aged out and had nothing but amazing things to say. Soon I came to find several people from my neighborhood went there. So we decided to tour it and meet the team. I felt comfortable immediately after meeting Miss Carrie and my daughters to be teacher miss Mickey. They are two of the warmest, most welcoming and loving people. The ideal people to work in this industry. My daughter was a little over one when she started in early 2023. She absolutely LOVED going to school. Would run inside and not look back at me once. What I loved most is how small the school is. All the teachers even for the other grades know all the children and they frequently help out each others classes. The class sizes are also super small which allows for a lot of direct attention which was something my high maintenance child needed. They quickly learn all the children by name and know exactly who everyone's parents are. It's a very close knit program and I loved that. I also loved that they cleaned their own facility and didn't hire outside companies so they are able to oversee that everything is held to a certain standard. This past year my daughter was only sick twice and as a 1-2 year old class I'd say that's REALLY good and I credit it to how well they upkeep their rooms. Communication with team and her teachers is very open and I am always able to get ahold of someone if I ever have a question or concern. It's tremendous to see how much my daughter learned being there. Often times she would randomly say or do something at home we had no idea she could do and we just assumed she learned at school, like the first time she pointed at a picture of an apple and said Apple. They have a great educational curriculum and they don't just sit your child in front of a TV. All in all I would absolutely recommend pride and joy. We loved everything about it there and are so sad to have to leave (we're moving out of state due to my husbands job). In fact it's one of the hardest parts about leaving because as a mom of now 2, finding a school you are whole heartedly comfortable with is a rare find. I can only hope we find somewhere even half as great as pride and joy. I will forever compare every school experience back to the expectations I learned here. Thank you Miss Mickey, Miss Edilima, the new assistants and Miss Carrie (as well as the teachers in the other classes) who have always treated my girl like your own. I truly believe she is such a happy, social, smart little girl because of your amazing team! We will miss you all!!

This is a KLA franchise location, and if you have heard about the wonderful KLA corporate locations in Miami - This. Is. Not. It. Within the first 5 months of school, 4 children were withdrawn from a class of approximately 10/12 because of issues with the school and staff, and I know many others wanted to but simply had no alternative childcare. I write this because I wish I was warned before enrolling my child. Big issues first: this school lacks security. We were assured someone would always be at the front desk, monitoring who came in and out, though consistently when I picked up my child, the door was locked but no one was at the front. This is an issue because anyone coming out can hold the door open for a "parent" waiting outside. I withdrew my son after grandma went to pick him up, was let in by a cleaning lady, and was not stopped or asked for her ID or who she was until she was almost out the door with my child. There's no communication with parents. We were promised weekly reports with pictures, and daily reports with diaper changes, etc, but I can count on one hand the times I received this in 6 months. The teachers and staff are not properly trained. My child choked and threw up as a result while eating his lunch and the assistant "director" did not deem this "important" enough to call me. Further, at the beginning of the school year, the Nido class only had one permanent teacher. The parents were assured that an assistant teacher would be hired "soon" but that did not happen until late December. Even though there was only one teacher, new students continued to be enrolled to the classroom every week, and depending on the number of students present that day, a substitute teacher from an agency would be called in to help. The parents never knew who was going to be watching their children - and very often when the permanent teacher called out sick, they were left at the care of substitutes that were not trained in the KLA method or knew anything about the school or the children. This is just a glimpse into the many problems we've had at KLA Fort Lauderdale. I hope something changes - the school does have great potential. But I was not willing to risk my child's well being until they got it together. Please take this for what it is: our experience in one classroom. But be cautious of overarching issues like security and training that need to be fixed ASAP.

We narrowed our list down to 6 facilities and visited each facility and spoke to each school's director. We also stopped by "unannounced" at each school at varying times of the day including lunch time and nap times. We also checked county and state public records for violations and complaints. In the end, we chose Cypress Preschool on Dixie Highway in Fort Lauderdale. It is now over a year since our granddaughter has been attending the preschool. I can say without reservation that we are 110% satisfied with the care and learning environment provided by this school. During the entire year that we have been associated with this school, we have never observed a sick child at the school other than minor runny noses. As a matter of fact, we were once called to pick up our granddaughter due to the fact that she began to run a fever at school. The teachers are very dedicated and do their very best to keep the children engaged in learning and happy while away from home. My granddaughter looks forward to going to school each day and visiting with all the friends she had made over the past year. When she arrives, she received "hugs" from several of the staff and loves all the activities that are provided. There are many activities including dancing, singing, arts and crafts, visits from dentists, firemen, holiday parties and "pizza day" on Fridays, bounce house day, and the list goes on and on! My wife and I could not be more pleased with the care and operation of Cypress Preschool. I would have no reservation about recommending this school and their professional staff to anyone considering placing their preschool child in this school!
