Came by for the Egyptian Festival held August 23rd-25th. Free to enter. Plenty of parking and they take credit cards which is great. Volunteer staff is friendly and helpful. Inflatable playhouse for the kids.
I was expecting typical Middle Eastern food, and while I did see that, I was pleasantly surprised to find some dishes had a different twist to them that I really enjoyed!
My Favorites:
Egyptian Macaroni Béchamel $6 - Hearty comfort food.
Cheese Pie $2 - The best cheese pie I have had.
Hawawshi $7 - A log of meat inside pita bread, but sooooo good with a kick of heat. Dip this in their spicy tahini sauce.
Stuffed Rolled Cabbage $2 for 5 pieces - No meat and smaller like grape leaves, but full of spicy flavor.
I did not care much for the grilled meat sampler, nor the desserts, but there were still plenty of tasty looking dishes that I did not get to try. I would definitely come to this festival again! read more
