This exquisite jewel of a church sits near Jolon, on the road to Mission San Antonio. Founded in 1885 by Reverend James Shannon McCowan, who moved to San Luis for his health from Monterey, it is still an active parish. Beautiful stained glass windows cast their light into the small space, warming the wooden structure.
There are picnic tables outside the church building, and the first Sunday in May is their annual barbque feast for the community. There is also an old cemetery behind the church, which has graves from some of the local families. read more
