Quite honestly the most outstanding service I have received at a winery. Jenni was a superb host and made our visit absolutely delightful. Our group had an amazing visit and we all agree that St Leonard's is easily our favourite winery in the Rutherglen region. They have a great range of wine to sample and will guide you through each wine with a detailed explanation of the background and flavour of each. There were a very large number of wines to try and also beer and soft drink options for those who may not be into wine. The cheese platters were excellent. We were given advice on good wine pairings and really enjoyed sitting in the garden enjoying a delicious bottle or two with a tasting platter. The scenery at St Leonard's is picturesque, with indoor and outdoor seating available and a real personal touch for tour groups. St Leornards is a must for any tour to the Rutherglen region. It will be the highlight of your trip and a delightful afternoon for all. read more

St Leonards Vineyard was established in 1960 and is situated in the Rutherglen Wine Region. It is a picturesque and relaxing destination for wine enthusiasts and nature purists. Taste our fine single vineyard wines, enjoy live music on the first Saturday of every month, relish the outdoors, and let the kids run free on the lush lawns.
History
Established in 1860.
St Leonards Vineyard was first planted with vines in 1860 by James Scott, the property was named after his birthplace in Scotland. However, it was soon sold on to the ambitious New Zealander Henry Ireland, who added the Cellars in 1874. Ireland increased plantings and guided the winery through the 1890's economic recession. By the 1900's the volume reached 200,000 litres annually, most of which was exported to the UK and Europe. In 1919 Ireland sold St Leonards to a syndicate of local vignerons. With the great development of wine appreciation and in particular the acknowledgement of the outstanding wines of the Rutherglen region, the vineyard was bought and redeveloped in 1973, by noted artist, wwine buff and descendant of the original surveyor of the Rutherglen township - John Darbyshire. In 1980, Brown Brothers of Milawa purchased St Leonards from John Darbyshire and in 1992 Peter Brown took over ownership. Today Peter's children, Eliza, Angela and Nick Brown own St Leonards.
Meet the Business Owner: Angela, Eliza, Nicholas B.
Eliza, Angela and Nicholas Brown form the fourth-generation wine family who own and run St Leonards Vineyard and All Saints Estate in Wahgunyah, part of the famed Rutherglen wine region of North-east Victoria. All share the vision of producing outstanding premium table wines and Australia's finest winery experience. They believe that innovation, youthful passion, a healthy respect for traditional winemaking and a talented team of people are the key to delivering that vision. They are honored to continue the wine-making tradition established by their father Peter R Brown, who passed away in November 2005. Peter was one of the original Brown Brothers of Milawa and Eliza, Angela and Nicholas all play a role in the ongoing management of that business in addition to their independent ownership of St Leonards Vineyard and All Saints Estate.
