I have visited many, many churches of different denominations over the past two years. This is my…read moretop pick for the following reasons: 1. They are very welcoming without making it weird. 2. I was greeted with a smile and truly felt they were all just people wanting to learn more about the bible, and have a closer relationship with GOD. 3. Not one person there made me feel as though I were not "good enough" to be there even though I wore jeans and a t-shirt. 4. The sermon was not constantly "tithe" or burn, it was very relate-able to everyday life, and not spoken as though I had a doctorate in theology. 5. It was not a theatrical production, nor a concert. It was church, not entertainment for a Sunday afternoon. 6. They do missions even though they are a small church. They actually care about the world and they show it in their community outreach. These are the main reasons I like this small Anderson church :)

We know we are not the only church out there, and we are not trying to cause division among the saints. This is a community of loving people and a few angry people left the church in the early 2000s, and have been going out of their way to sew discord and venom in the minds and hearts of others. It is sad, but we pray for these fallen men and women that they may find Christ through this ordeal. I wanted to build relationships with people that love the Lord and want to see the good in others. Those that care about you and remember what is going on with your life so they can pray for you. And I could pray for them. I wanted great worship that wasn't too flashy but got to the Spirit of true praise. I wanted a great message that I could eat on all week and would help me grow closer to God. I got that and so much more here. If you've been to so many churches and you are tired of not finding a place that feels right in your spirit, I highly suggest trying out SGBC. They have life groups and children's church too. A congregation of all ages.
