This is a wonderful church community. People are very nice. The priest is from the Philippines and his homily was very thoughtful and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend this church if you live in Sumter (or are visiting like we were). read more

It's a very large church with a lot of people and that might be something to consider when attending. I like the security of the computer generated kid ID badges and pick up codes to ensure no one else can pick up your child from Sunday school classes and daycare.

I attended a "get to know the church" session and everyone is great, it's their way of spending money that makes me question if the church as a whole is living the way God intends. The pastor seemed overly excited to build a 4 million dollar building close to the church but I seriously doubt the church can pay cash and not go in debt as God says that is a sin. I disagree with how they discuss money in most of their sermons, there's more to church and faith than giving in the form of cash. I believe in tithing like I should, but I believe that doing acts and services for God are also important. I love the environment of the church and the music and kids church are both great, just not for me.

I looked up on haunted places in South Carolina and decided upon this church because they said the graveyard was haunted with a Confederate soldier and a woman that sat in a tree I didn't get to see them but I did see the 2 ghost dogs. That was the wildest thing I've ever seen in my life I did feel someone touching my arm several times and I said please stop and they did and I did smell something really weird that kind of smell like death maybe 3 or 4 times while I walked around the entire graveyard. I am still amazed that I saw 2 ghost dogs they were nice dogs and I was ready to take a picture and my phone rang and I picked up the phone and as I was watching the one turn around and walk away the other 1 turned and within 1 second they were both disappeared in mid air. That is the wildest thing I've ever seen in my life

We are trying to find our home church where we can raise our family and grow in our walk with Jesus and God but we did not feel very welcomed overall. We were not introduced to any of the pastors and in all we only spoke to one person. We thought it would be a bit different. Me, being retired Air Force, and my wife, growing up on Army bases in her youth, have attended churches on many military installations and are used to the camaraderie and welcoming demeanor of the people who attend. My wife and I have also attended Korean-American churches where everyone wants to meet you and the pastors are always the first to greet you and assist you. The military churches are quite transient though and our home church dissolved hence the search for a new permanent church. I'm sure we must've just picked an off day to go. Hopefully as we search for our new church home we will find that welcoming family. The one person we did meet and talk with was very sweet and we appreciated that.
