Christ Church is the large church that is situated in the town square in Woking (not Old Woking as…read morethe category would have you believe). It's a traditional CofE church from the outside but inside you start to appreciate that this is a progressive, modern church. The service style is modern and upbeat with a focus on the family and youth. The seating in the church is good, not that comfortable, but I've sat on worse! The accoustics are excellent and it is as a music venue that the church really comes into its own. There's a full sound system and great lighting although it IS on a meter and so you have to make sure that it's on for long enough! The church also houses a cafe serving from 10 - 2.30 Monday through Saturday. It's a peacful place and the food is excellent value and great quality. It's snack/lunch in style and good wholesome food. The church also houses a branch of the Wesley Owen bookstore selling religious books and music. The various rooms of the church also provide for conferencing facilities - truely a church in the 21st century!
