There's something about sharing that space with others that amplifies it's power (for me). I am globally familiar with Parmahansa Yogananda's teachings and resonate with what I know of them. As of the time of this review, the meditation hall is open for structured meditations Friday and Sunday evenings, and Sunday mornings. Website will have details. My first time on the grounds, I stopped by the welcome desk and was greeted by two friendly volunteers that shared information about both the founder and the Sunday morning process in general. They were warm and helpful, and I felt welcomed. There seems to be no distinct age, race, or gender that is predominant, though I have found fewer younger than older attendees. In the hall itself, there are two entrances facing west and one facing east which also serve as exits. I have found no particular designated route in or out. There is praying/singing/chanting at the beginning of the one hour Sunday morning meditation, and at the top of each hour for the extended evening meditations. Total time of silence in the one hour Sunday morning meditation is about 30 minutes. In my handful of visits, I have not felt like an outsider, or as if I was being judged or indoctrinated. I'm grateful to have found a silent safe haven of sorts in the middle of the city.

I attended their Sunday 10 AM lecture this morning. It was very welcoming and relaxing. I am…read morefamiliar with Yogananda's teachings. They gave me a welcome packet that had several free books and a schedule of the events. I enjoyed the meditation and the chanting. It was pretty much what I expected. There were a diverse group of ages and races there. Grounds were very well maintained and it would be nice to just go there to meditate and be outdoors. I would probably go there more often if it was closer to my house.

My family's and I have grown closer to God by thoughtful sermons, great praise music and fellowship with many other loving Christians. This is another one of the network of redemption churches there's Arcadia which is this one there's Tempe, Gilbert , North mountain, Gilbert, Tucson Peoria. This location is hermeneutically sound as they do line by line expository preaching, the Lord's supper, and exegesis of the text read. The Lord's supper is bread and wine and it's pieces of bread and a ball of wine you dip your bread in and then go back to your seat while you worship and wait for everybody to go back to their seats. The worship is contemporary, However it's not ethnically engaging there are large multitudes of people that are white American All over All the churches of redemption and extremely very very very few people of color. Redemption Church isn't for minorities. When Tyler Johnson who is now part of the missional training center and the human element directed these churches people of color felt safe I went last Sunday and I was the only African-American in the church I sat all the way in the back .. nobody greets you everybody keeps to themselves.

In every visit I have experienced an enormous amount of love and acceptance absent in many sleeping churches of this time. They really prove that it is not how you start in life but how you finish that counts. If you come to the free (really, no donation asked for) breakfast at 9 am on Sunday morning, not only do you get a hearty meal but you get to meet the most wonderful Christians who have been rescued from all kinds of awful lives and are now the best people in the world. The worship is lively and loud but totally in the Spirit. Pastor Gus preaches the truth of the bible with no holds barred. Many come forward every service to accept Christ after the genuine gospel has been preached. There is a bus ministry for those who need transportation to the services and to the Wednesday bible classes. Just call the church. You can see most services in their entirety on the website or watch the TV program, There is an Answer on Cox 1013 on Sun. evenings and at other times. It also appears on the Church Channel. If you are called to minister in the inner city of Phoenix, this the place to be. That is why my wife and I are there.
