Clean! Clean! Clean! I have such a high standard for cleanliness, especially when it comes to certain non-tourist areas. I usually clean the rooms myself when I get into the room. But there was nothing to clean. I read mixed reviews on this hotel on yelp and google so I was torn about staying here. But this hotel surpassed my expectations! Service was great! It's in a SAFE location! It has a beautiful hotel lobby area and beautiful rooms. Both rooms that we reserved were great! It's a quiet hotel and the beds and rooms are so comfortable. I definitely would recommend this hotel!

This is a brand new hotel opened in July 2021. So, it's modern, clean, and stylish. I'm so happy that the guest room is clean, spacious, and well appointed. I also love the location. The area is very quiet and seems safe. There are shopping centers at the highway (I-80) entrance/exit (0.5 mile from the hotel) where you can find In-N-Out, Starbucks, Panda Express, and other restaurants (if you are not picky). If you want more options, downtown West Sacramento is only about 5 minutes and down Sacramento only about 10 minutes. Parking is free, and there's a lot of it. Parking spaces are generous in size. There are even covered parking slots behind hotel. They also serve complimentary breakfast. We used to stay at the Marriott in Midtown Sacramento. It's a much older hotel, and parking costs $15 per night. So, I decided to reallocate the $15 and decided to stay in West Sacramento. I cannot be happier. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, please smash the "useful" button! There aren't a lot of good hotel options in this area and I chose this one since it is new. It is a decent option...it's functional. The gym is decent and the rooms were OK. The front desk lady when we checked in seemed a little "checked out". See what I did there...I amuse myself sometimes.

You walk in and immediately there's the breakfast area with complimentary coffee and tea available 24/7. And there's the check in / out desk. Usually one or two people are there depending on the time of day. I was taken care of in less than five minutes. Elevators are to the right of the desk. Then there's a love seat, a great floor to ceiling mirror, and a bed with three pillows. There a tv and an iron (didn't see an ironing board). The bed was a little softer than I prefer. I like a medium firm bed. Pillows weren't the greatest. Soft as well. I was on the 4th floor and it was super quiet which is a plus.

I expected a basic but secure environment. Instead, the conditions at this property made it feel unsafe and uninhabitable. From the moment I checked in, there was ongoing, visible activity that posed serious safety concerns. Individuals engaged in apparent prostitution and groups openly congregated outside the building and inside the hallways, including near my room. This was not an isolated incident--it was continuous and highly noticeable. As a solo guest, I did not feel safe remaining on the property. Due to these conditions, I immediately attempted to cancel my reservation and request a refund, explaining that the environment posed a personal safety risk and that I could not reasonably stay under these circumstances. Despite clearly communicating these concerns, I was unable to receive meaningful assistance or a reasonable resolution. A hotel's most basic responsibility is to provide a safe environment for its guests. When that standard is not met, guests should not be financially penalized for leaving. I am posting this review to formally document that the stay from January 10-17 was not safely usable and to urge Extended Stay America to take responsibility and issue a refund. I strongly caution anyone--especially solo travelers or those staying out of necessity--to reconsider this location.

We stayed in the Happiness Loft, which was cute and unique. The pictures do note that it's not ideal for tall guests, and that's true -- the ceilings are quite low, but it worked fine for us. The highlight of our stay was definitely the spa. I had one of the best massages of my life, and the couples massage experience was wonderful. That said, it was on the pricey side, as was the room rate, though the charm of the property sets it apart from many other Sacramento options we looked at. Breakfast was good, but at $30 per person, it didn't feel like the best value compared to other places we've stayed. The biggest downside for us was the location -- while the hotel itself is lovely, the surrounding neighborhood didn't feel like a place where we could walk around and explore, so we found ourselves driving elsewhere for dinner and activities. Parking was also limited. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and are glad we experienced it. The service, cleanliness, and spa treatments are excellent, but for the price point, I'd likely explore other options next time. For us, this felt like a solid three-star experience.

The tall ceilings and quiet rooms--thanks to excellent insulation--made the stay very comfortable. I also liked the different water options available near the front desk, especially since the bottled water in the rooms cost $10 each. The music in the pool area created a great atmosphere, and the jacuzzi was a nice size and very enjoyable. However, the main issue was the mandatory valet fee--even when not using valet service. This makes no sense and feels unreasonable. If arriving by Uber or not bringing a car, there is no justification for being charged valet. The website does not clearly state that valet is mandatory, and there was no prior notice when booking. At check-in, staff simply said, "We have to charge it anyway," regardless of whether the service was used. The fee is also quite high at $52 per night, which adds up quickly for a service not utilized. According to previous reviews, valet fees have increased significantly over the past three years. I would not stay at this Westin Hotels & Resorts location again. The accumulation of mandatory fees makes the experience feel transactional rather than guest-focused. I would much rather voluntarily tip valet staff when I actually use and appreciate their service, rather than be required to pay a substantial fee regardless of need. Overall, while the hotel has many appealing qualities, the mandatory valet charge without clear disclosure or usage was a major drawback.

The room was clean, but overall it was fairly basic and nothing particularly memorable. In the kitchenette, there was a kitchen towel provided but no dish soap. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were also very basic. Breakfast on Saturday morning was disappointing. The selection was limited, and the scrambled eggs ran out. When we asked if more eggs were coming, we were told they would be replenished, but they never were. What bothered me most, however, was the billing process. Upon checkout on Sunday morning, I received a receipt showing room charges of $229.64 per night for two nights, totaling $459.28. However, my credit card was charged $310.16 and $289.84, bringing the total pending charges to $600. When I called for clarification, I was told that the hotel places a $100 deposit hold and that the amount was "rounded up." While I completely understand and accept a standard $100 incidental deposit, I did not authorize additional charges beyond the stated room rate and deposit. The clerks also explained that the $100 incidental deposit had already been released and that the charges should correct themselves within 2 to 10 business days, depending on my bank. While I appreciate the explanation, it would have been helpful if this process had been communicated more clearly at check-in or checkout. Seeing $150 in additional pending charges without prior notice is extremely concerning. Overall, the hotel was adequate for a graduation weekend stay, but the basic amenities, underwhelming breakfast, and especially the confusing billing practices would make me think twice before booking here again.
